Interesting!! I usually only do one node per cut for my pothos cuttings and keep the leaf on. Is there a reason you don’t do it that way? I have 99.9% root success in water with only one node, but curious your reasoning :) thank you!
@alfabrizio6005
@alfabrizio6005 2 года назад
I've heard it done that way when the stem of the leaf isn't long, so that it can reach more easily down into the water or soil.
@JosBeeReads
@JosBeeReads 2 года назад
Same here. I don't like to kill off leaves if I don't have to. I love this channel and I'm sure there's a good reason he does it this way. Maybe the success rate is higher. Personally I haven't had a problem using one node. Plus I end up having a fuller plant.
@niamh.f
@niamh.f 2 года назад
@@JosBeeReads I wondered this too as I use one node per cutting. I think doing it this way might make potting them up a little easier as they would be able to stand upright.

Before I figured out that my new Pothos is actually a Philodendron (heartleaf), I pinned some of its nodes (in the same pot). Now I'm wondering if this method works for Philodendrons as well, but I won't find out until I repot it, because if it did grow new roots, I don't want to disturb them. Either way, I'll find out soon enough, as I already have some roots peeking out of the drainage holes...

What if you have a long steam with lots of nods but no leaves, Can the still root?
@jeanpetitbon
@jeanpetitbon 3 года назад
Pins are ineffectual to ensure close contact between stem and mix. The video proves it. . Instead place a small cobble on each internode..

@mikek5631
@mikek5631 4 года назад
When doing the very last method that you mention at the end of the video, staking down vines back into the pot, do we cut the vine from the main plant once roots are established from the node? Should we cut it at any time into sections like we would doing single leaf cuttings or just leave it alone? Thanks

Very informative this and the All you need to know about Pothos videos. My dad gave me a portion of the Pothos that my parents got when I was born 40 + years ago. I have a Marble Queen, I found this out by watching your videos. Now I know why there is only one leaf with white varigations and the plant is leggy. I will be able to prune with out fear of hurting my plant and how to clean the leaves too. :) Thank you!

Thank you for making detailed and easy to understand content. Needless to say, this is one of the best videos I have seen on propagating pothos. I have 2 Golden Pothos, one of them is very light green with yellow but the other one has very dark green leaves with yellow splashes... Is there a reason for this?, if so, what can I do to keep the leaves dark green and possibly turn the other light one to dark as well? Any info would be helpful to me, since I have not been able to find anything.
