When Elton John was given the screening, the song was still there but it had been altered into a comical farewell sung by Timon and Pumbaa, which Elton John disliked, so Disney switched it back to being a love song as it was originally intended.

I was about to say the second fact wasn’t a fact because everyone knew it was male but then he talked about the song and i was like 👀
