I'm definitely guilty of overusing, maybe just self conscious. I blame it on the trauma of middle school and the oblivion of desensitized senses of smell from that time era. Native is absolutely a game changer.
@Outlaw Transport everyone in middle school smelled a little bit rough and most covered it up with body spray. self conscious young teenagers not realizing that puberty sweat hit a little different. 😳
I think I noticed something about the Native deodorants. I used the Candy Cane one back in 2020 and it slowly went bad. It started smelling more and more like Cigarettes. I wanted to try Native again earlier in 2022 so I got the Coconut Vanilla. It started out good but slowly started smelling like pungent feet. I came to the conclusion that it must've been because I kept the deodorant in the bathroom while showering. So far no other deodorants or products have gone bad like this due to the steam/heat in the bathroom but Native is the only exception. I'm sure it's because the natural ingredients aren't supposed to be exposed to heat this way but it's just strange to me how no other products that I've tried have ever done this. I still use and love Native's deodorants but I thought I'd share this.
I thought it only happened to me! Started with someone saying that I smell like coconut (not in a good way). Later, my room started to smell. Then I found out that it was my clothes (the ones I wore with Native). Awful smell! Needed to wash my clothes over and over until I got the smell off. Oars + Alps Auminum-Free is the best, after I’ve tried a few others.
I mostly used Old Spice deodorant. After a while I started having dead skin & red areas on my armpits so I decided to switch. I’m about 20 days in no problems at all! Also I’ve noticed it doesn’t run out as fast maybe because the consistency of it. Also it doesn’t stain the inside of my black shirts like regular deodorant would
Emphasis on the stains, I was very surprised after seeing so many negative reviews about stains on Amazon. Wouldn’t be surprised if whoever the sellers are, sell counterfeits or something. I bought it in store at target and it is like nothing else I’ve personally tried from the naturals or regular deodorants. It also works as antiperspirant for me. I don’t know if it is something they intend or not, but I sweat way less with it as if I used antiperspirant at night and deodorant during the day. Two bird with one stone for me!
Native is 12 at my Walmart I have to buy new deodorant about every 6 to 8 months. The other deodorant have gone up in price doves are 10 so only 2 dollars more for native something you get what you pay for
I just purchased the Schmidt's Deodorant and I'm not a huge fan of the scent. So I was planning to try Native in the cardboard packaging (vegan, cruelty-free & sustainable, the trifecta 😍) so I decided to poke around RU-vid and this video popped up. Very informative. These points are especially valid for me because I'm in the Caribbean, not the USA so it's even *more* expensive for me to get this deodorant 😩 Thank you for this honest and informative video.
I'm also in the Caribbean and it works! It does last a long time.... I've been using the same stick for at least 3 months and it looks like I can easily get another 1-2 months. I do swipe like 3 times on each side.
I have tried a ton of “natural”deodorants as I got tired of antiperspirant ruining my clothes. Native just seems to work for me. I think it’s because unlike all the others I’ve tried. It allegedly has all three baking soda, tapioca starch and lacto ferment probiotics. The probiotics would be my guess for those that leave their deo in hot damp areas. It’s still hard for me to be ok with it at 13/14 bucks each. I’m still looking for alternatives so anyone got one let me know.
New subscriber. Came around because of this review. I’m kinda addicted to those deodorants!!! Their marketing is really genius!!! I want to eat them. And yeah, I purchase 4 instead of one!!! The only downside for me is that they stain my clothes. Now that you say that you use a lot perhaps I’m using more than I really need. Thank you 🙏🏻
I've just ordered my first Native deodorant. It should arrive soon. Although I have yet to use it, I've n been watching tons of videos about it and reading up on it everywhere. Native itself (along with most if the sources I found) suggest 3 strokes per armpit. One on the left, one in the right and one in the center should do it They say "less is more", and that if you put more on it won't work as well....may start to flake off and could create other issues that could cause it to not work as well. That is the general suggested amount. Of course we are all individuals, so 2 might be best for some and 4 for others. But most likely 3 should work better than 9. I get where you're coming from. I'd also usually use about 9 with traditional deodorants. But natural ones are a whole different thing and don't work in exactly the same ways or follow the same rules. The way I see it, if the jar it comes in is smaller, but I use 1/3 of the amount each day, that evens out. 🙂
@@outlawtransportBecause those people slathered it on and didn’t need to. It’s a brilliant and natural product that costs a bit more but you use less of it to get the job done. Don’t shame people for making intelligent choices
I use native for a month still on my first stick it’s half full so I estimate I’ll be done with it in another month, how is this possible? Each arm pit I swipe up and then down that’s it two swipes each, this brand scents last 24+ no joke! I would put it on in the morning last all day and then wake up the next day to the smell and it still smells fresh it’s crazy and I am one to sweat A LOT!!! So for this not to fade most of the scent away is crazy awesome!!!!
love this product, u should also do a review on one of their other product lines like bodywash, hair care, sunscreen, and skin care stuff, its a really good brand that I continue to use
This stuff darkened the hell outta my armpits. I used the Coconut and Vanilla version for a couple of months to a year. I'm working with my derm to try to reverse the effect.
Wow, sorry to hear that. That's not cool. I definitely think you should reach out to Native and inform them. Mainly to see if this is a known issue or a individual issue. All the best on that. Thanks for sharing.
@@outlawtransportIt’s not even remotely a scam haha. I’ve been using all of their products and I won’t ever switch. Natural, simple ingredients and it gets the job done. Nuff said
@Michael Ferrera, to answer your question, my style of applying deodorant is actually just dabbing it a few times, no swiping. It still gets the job done, meanwhile making the stick last longer
I’m making my own deodorant these days using coconut oil, cornstarch, baking soda, and essential oil. It really works and it’s super cheap! I’ve stopped trying to find a good one in stores. Native does use similar ingredients to what I’m making at home so it might work
Do you know more on their fragrance? I’ve been using for awhile thinking it didn’t have this FRAGRANCE WORD which I’ve come to stay away from at all costs. So I’m bummed out. Like is their fragrance different from normal trash products in the store?
I had a bad allergic reaction when using this. Bad rash and node inflammation that took weeks to fully go away. I loved the smell but this just isn't an option for me.
When I got native the first time I got the charcoal scented one and I was like WOW I loved it, i felt like one apply would last 2 full days . And then when that was over I thought about trying a new sent (still native). Everything changed. 😤 I start sweating like 3min in and sweating like dripping sweat even if I’m just at home brushing my teeth, so I changed back to the charcoal scent (still native) hopping it’ll stop but it didn’t. Now I’m back to regular deodorant. It was too good to be true 😢
$13 for a deodorant... body-wash at about $10 .... for these 2 items alone, I could buy several of what I purchase in the store. I don't have to use deodorant much, so the hefty price of this doesn't sell me. It may smell good - but reading some of the comments, not about to change what I've done for years. But, to each their own.
I have Tourette syndrome so when I put it on I have this impulse to do it a certain amount of times. Up, down, up, down, up, and sometimes I'll add in another down if I feel the need. 😂 Do these last all day long? Even through sweat? The current one I have I put on in the morning and it lasts throughout the day. Only issue is that it clogs some pores and can cause acne. I just don't wanna buy something I'm gonna need to reapply throughout the day because I definitely won't remember to but I really don't want to smell.
I feel like more is more, but I am pretty sure there is a limit. Another RU-vidr I watch says you do not need that much, but I relate to what you are saying.
Native deodorant caused my armpits to darken and gave me a horrible rash. I had to stop using it because my armpits hurt so badly. I used it off and on for three months just to see if it was the deodorant, and yes, it was. I wouldn't recommend these deodorants to anyone.
I feel as if I can do 3 swipes on each arm out of habit. However I usually dont need deodorant daily due to my eating habits im assuming. Also I never have to reapply deodorant during the day. So it can't takes me more than a month to go through deodorant. For me im willing to pay for something more of quality and natural as long as bottom line it works. I will say if I had to buy monthly due to the size that would be a hard pass lol
This made my under arm itch badly, the smell dosent last , previously only ever used Dove’s deodorant. It I made me smell it made me sweat more and literally made bacteria grow more. Previously It usually took me 6 months to run out of deodorant. That’s with me using it every week or so, I don’t notice a difference in discoloration and left a powdery residue under my arms.
I only use Native products on hair, body and armpits for sure! They’re a straightforward and simple company that doesn’t hide behind harmful chemicals. It’s worth the price! South Korean products on my face. You don’t need much more than that
LOL Is like.... Just take out the whole product cutt ✂️ in the middle, then put one half under armpit and the other half in the other armpit and that's it!!! 😆
The deodorant last a while with me I usually give it to strokes per armpit so that lasts a pretty good wild for me what do you think of the shower jail did I miss that link?
I use nuud right now, you should check it out if you haven't! It works great but is unscented so I'm looking for a compliment. About how long does a bottle last you? The only other recommendations I've gotten here in Sweden is like $20 a piece, so it would at least be cheaper than that!
Nuud made me smell worse. Ive stopped using chemical based deos and antiperspirants for almost a yr before i tried nuud so i know im done with the detoxing phase yet it made smell so much worse. Idk why.
For me, it depends on the coverage I get , my old deodorant I put on a lot more than what I currently use. Now I just do 1 & ½ swipes per arm. I tried doing my old 3-4 swipes per arm and I was COVERED! And couldn’t get it off in the shower 😆
How long have you been using it? When switching to a natural deodorant from an antiperspirant, your body has to go through a detox period where it gets rid of the built up aluminum and it can be quite unpleasant. You can use a bentonite clay mask to help speed up the process
I’ll say it: Native does not work. Really expensive for about three hours of coverage. PLEASE DON’T COME WITH THE “Ph” NARRATIVE. There are NO EXCUSES for how poorly it works. Please don’t buy it.
Yea, real quick: I feels like deodorant. I dont think it feels any different drastically than anything else. It is more of a solid deodorant rather than a gel or clear. Hope that helps.
@@MichaelFerreraStyleYourLife Not sure. I always liked hanging out in people's armpits though. Lol Seriously, I have a good sense of humor. Better than my family.
