Great series by Sensei Lupo with a more realistic evolvement at end of each kata into closer street defence. People pick holes in these applications slowed down and using basic attacks but in a real situation it would be at least 5 times faster and an attacker will be flaying out at you more than likely fuelled on alcohol or drugs with other lurking idiots. The technique is obviously sharper and cleaner for basic training. Drilling is key with training for hard wired reaction. Personally i feel Shotokan and boxing blows at close quarter (with hammer fist uppercut and hooks as opposed to traditional glove blows) are the best to defend yourself and not go to ground. Tarmac is the knockout. Oh and stay soberer than the attacker! Osu.
Kicks like this should be accustomed to so that they become reflex movements and are practiced in kumite and add value to kumite, so that moves like these are not just beautiful moves that cannot be practiced in real combat.
Que lindo video. Tiene mucha fuerza y seguridad en si misma. Estoy completamente convencida que vencera a cualquier oponente. Felicitaciones. Muy hermoso
Some good ideas here. Toward the end Lupo uses the X block against a knife attack, which I think is the best use of this defense, not against a front kick.
6:06 if you do that and it misses or does not directly hit him because he moves his head you are setting yourself up for an arm triangle and you will get killed. Just letting you know.
The application they demonstrated for that segment was absolutely terrible. A more proper application for that movement and the turning drop that follows is seioi nage.
I always wonder about the crescent kick. It seems high to be a foot sweep. In this demo, it seems to be hitting the head or the shoulder joint. I wonder what is the most logical application for this movement. Something to play with.
To me, the most sound interpretation for the crescent kick is an oblique kick to the side or back of the knee. In this demo specifically, it would have made far more sense to oblique kick the knee and follow up with that circular elbow to the back of the head, as the opponent should drop down after having their knee kicked in such a way.
Soy de jka me parece y lo es , está mal echo es más lento en verdad pero eso es en jka no critico solo lo digo para los que son de jka que esto no es lo q tienen que ver y no se confundan
