Three awesome watches. Mid-high horology dress watches in steel? There is no bigger bargain. Love the Villeret and the GP. Business and pleasure, right there!
Another great vid, thanks from the UK. Noticed 2 Explorers go through at auction last week . They are down a solid 2000, from previous auction results from 3 months ago!!
Federico, been a fan and subscriber for quite some time now. Love the content and just wanted to say I think right now you have the best inventory I’ve seen you have in a long time. Great variety and prices. Appreciate the watch geek content
The Villaret makes me wish I had the occasion to even wear a dress watch. Nice. And I agree about the face on the moon. And that GP is just crazy. I wish more luxury brands had the guts to work with semi-precious stones for dials. So cool.
Once again Fed offers a horology class on three distinct brands and three beautiful models any of which I would love to wear. The Girard-Perregaux wins this one for me. Great video!
You should specify “Gray Market” price, as opposed to MSRP. The Explorer @ $9500 MSRP is Significantly less than BlancPain @ $14,900 or Girard Perrigeaux @ $10,100. The Glashutte 60 Chrono is unavailable since it’s not even produced any more. Yes the horribly inflated price of the Rolex is higher than the watches shown, but only as a used or gray market purchase.
Three great picks from known brands. I just discovered the GP Orion this week by accident. I am torn between the aventurine dials between the Orion, A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia, and the H. Moser versions. If anybody else is doing the same, let me know your choice and why.
Consider a slightly higher level with the Lange Saxonia moonphase with the big date. It is a stunning piece. Take a look at the recent Teddy Baldassarre & Mr. Wonderful RU-vid video on Lange…the 2nd model they featured is the one I’m talking about.
Well done. Great watches. I owned alot of fine watches and one thing that stand out is the scratch wear. Some high end and expensive watches are made of materials that do not take wear and tear very good. After a few years of wear they look like wrecks. I have 3 pcs of Rolex datejust and they looks like new even after many years of service around my wrist. The steel material is obviously of some better quality. All the best.
Being that the Rolex Explorer is the best Rolex in their catalog (IMO).. I'd take my Explorer every day of the week over any one of these watches and twice on Sunday.
Firstly, I love your channel but I need to call out that you’re referring to the explorer gray market price. Secondly, how is the Glashutte chrono high horology when you rip Rolex all the time for not being high horology when both the Daytona, Sky Dweller and Yacht Master II are all more impressive movements?
@@Arc1517 It has everything to do with your point as those watches are 10 times the price so they are provided rightfully with more impressive movements (barely). What Fed refers to is to compare to a plain-jane Explorer, Yachtmaster or Submariner which are more double the price of the GO and are nowhere near the level of horological sophistication.
@@rashakor you’re missing the point. High horology isn’t relative. It’s binary. Fed always bashes Rolex saying they don’t offer any high horology and then talks about a chrono as if that’s high horology. A time / date watch for $1K vs a Gold one for $50K doesn’t make one more horological over the other. A chrono is a chrono is a chrono regardless of price. My comment is based off Feds holistic opinion. If you’re a follower of this channel, which it doesn’t seem like you are, you would get my point.
In my opinion an explorer is more than just a Rolex… it encapsulates what the brand is truly at its core. It’s the best Rolex and the only Rolex I will ever buy.
none of those watches really is the same sort of watch as an explorer. The reason the explorer is a great understated watch is it's ease of legibility, while still being a sporty watch. Those all looked way too dressy. Especially with the roman numerals and gilt accents
Cool. Three different out of the ordinary watches that would certainly start a conversation with fellow watch nerds for less than the price of an Explorer. Makes you think.
That Blancpain has made me actually go to the website and consider pulling the trigger. I just bought a skydweller last month so it couldn't be worse timing, but still. One can dream
That blancpain is one i have looked at on their website a few months ago and identified as the best looking blancpain they offer, at least at entry level price point. I don't know if i will ever own blancpain but if I ever do, that triple calendar will be the one.
I own a Blancpain perpetual, and it has the same hidden setters (terrific feature), the same moon phase, and apparently the same second hand. Compared with my vintage Villeret this is a winning improcement.
They are less expensive because they second hand and they depreciate a lot in price and the Explorer doesn’t. But you are right, all of them are amazing watches especially the Blancpain .
its times like this I realise why I play the lottery. I want them all - absolutely stunning watches, each in their own right. Why we love you Fed, you bring us watches we never knew of but instantly fall in love with.
Seiko makes it own date wheels other brands need to step up to this high horology level that seiko and these brands push. Yes seiko I don’t care fight me 😊
Aloha, great video…but your not wearing anyone of those watches near water, heat or typically doing sports. Nice watches with high horology for sure. But, I’m keeping my Rolex Explorer. 😊😊
Was literally looking at that exact Blancpain on Chrono24 earlier! Reminds me of the Breguet Serpentine Triple Date but for a third of the price. There are also some insanely priced GP pieces out there. Bargains.
