It doesn’t start that way I mean obviously we would run the other way. They put up a really good show and work on you little by little and before you know it he’s got you under his control. They slowly isolate these woman and make them feel like no one loves them or wants them around but him and that’s it... I have researched cases like this possibly by the 100s. Always fascinated yet horrified me. They start by acting like gods gift to mankind in most cases and the woman is so happy and great full she’s found her soul mate... little by little it changes. The worse part is they get inside the woman’s mind and she is CONVINCED no one else will EVER want her. Often they believe it’s their fault... “if I did the dishes he wouldn’t have been mad so I deserved what I got” ( true case ) It’s very sad. They believe it’s still love in many cases or that it’ll never ever happen again. It always does. Some of the worse abuse I have ever seen are from ladies like this who where simply brainwashed and many not ever hit but verbally abused / terrorized.... calling them fat or degrading them etc THIS IS ABUSE TOO and many I have learned would almost rather be beat than have the love of their life degrading them and making them feel ok crap. This is because physical stuff heals but mentally it never heals. It can be very crippling and even long after they separate aren’t ever the way they used to be. Some will struggle for the rest of their lives just by falling in love with the wrong man. A 19 year old I spoke to once who was molested as a child ended up getting married to the man who had molested her! She was sure it was real life or he wouldn’t have done it. Our mind is very scary. It can happen to any of us even if we say I’ll never let a man hit me.... it can still happen. In this case I believe he shoved her or something and didn’t intentionally want to kill the baby but the abuse did obviously. They went on to have more and marriage so it’s unlikely he wanted to kill the baby and that’s part of why she stayed. He likely convinced her that it was a horrible accident and never to happen again. Sigh. It’s just a vicious cycle these poor woman get into snd it really destroys their mental state down to nothing -

Being known as the grieving husband whose wife left him or died puts them in a much better light than the husband who beat his pregnant fiancee so badly she miscarried AND who was cheating on her so much she filed for divorce. Also, many spouses see their partners as their property. 'If I can't have them, no one can,' mentality. The Josh Powell case is a *perfect* example of some of these. I can at least understand being angry after having put a lot of effort into a relationship, having kids with that person, getting old with that person, only to have them shun you and cheat, but none of these excuses justifies it. I'm just telling you possibly what the killer would be thinking.

People can accidentally fall into a woodchipper if their clothes get caught, or their hair, or they lean too far into the machine, or they try to push things into the chipper with a piece of wood and the blades catch the wood the wrong way and pull it into the machine with the human after it.

In Canada, a life sentence is generally meant to mean 25 years to life. You are also eligible for parole after serving 2/3 of your sentence, so his parole eligibility is based on the shortest sentence he could potentially serve (25 years). However, although he will be eligible for parole, that doesn't mean it will be granted. Lots of reprehensible killers, in the US and Canada, have been eligible for parole hearings, because that's how the law works. That doesn't mean that any of them will ever be granted parole. Even Charles Manson and Paul Bernardo have been eligible for parole hearings.

Helle must have been loved very much. Unlike her husband who was not only horrible but incredibly stupid, as well. Imagine renting a wood chipper (I guess not returning?) Then ditch it and scratch off the serial numbers. Of course her friends would have called her in missing. Especially since she had told just about everyone she knew that her hubby abusive--"call police if anything happens to me"! I guess it should go without saying that anyone who uses a woodchipper to dispose of a body is a moronic freak of nature!!
