3 Hours Of Reddit Stories - AITA For Losing It And Calling My Father A Weak Pathetic Man...
--------
AITA For Losing It And Calling My Father A Weak Pathetic Man In Front Of His Family?
--------
The story follows the original poster (OP), a 29-year-old man, who had a tense relationship with his father, largely due to his father’s extreme passivity and inability to stand up against OP’s narcissistic, abusive mother. OP’s father allowed his wife to control and demean him for years, including during the mother’s cheating and abuse toward OP. Despite their dysfunctional family life, OP’s father never stood up for his son or himself, leaving OP with deep resentment.
At a family reunion, OP heard his father give advice about forgiveness and setting a "good example" in marriage, which triggered all the pent-up anger from OP's traumatic childhood. In a fit of rage, OP publicly lashed out at his father, calling him weak and pathetic. While the outburst was not ideal, it gave OP a sense of release from years of built-up resentment. His girlfriend comforted him afterward, and OP realized he needed to return to therapy.
Following the reunion, OP apologized to his grandparents for the outburst but maintained his distance from his father. His extended family revealed to OP that they had long known about his father’s failures and had distanced themselves as well. OP later met with his uncles and learned shocking details about his father's past-how his father had defended OP's abusive mother and alienated his own family, ultimately becoming complicit in her cruelty. This new information shattered OP’s view of his father even further.
OP concluded that his father had ruined his own relationships with everyone by siding with his manipulative wife. Though his father reached out for reconciliation and family therapy, OP was left uncertain about moving forward, given the emotional damage that had already been done.

I thought the same thing! 🙈 It’s definitely strange coming from a dad, not the kind of compliment you’d expect. Makes you do a double-take for sure!

I know this is probably stolen footage or some stock footage, but it really pissed me off that the pokeball was upside down on the pikachu cake.

The notion of a flawless marriage or relationship is a myth. There's no set formula for success; what works for one couple may not work for another. Yet, I've discovered that there's always a way forward, even in the most challenging times. Five years ago, my wife and I encountered significant hurdles in our marriage that nearly led to divorce. Despite the adversity, we managed to weather the storm and emerge from it with our bond renewed and revitalised

Honestly I agree. Even if it didn't end up being necessary for her, she now has cameras in her house!

4:03 you should be ashamed because regardless to how you feel you have no idea what's going on inside that man or what trauma he faced that made him like that
