Good video. I would like to see a video on how to teach a young catcher (9U baseball) how to execute a good throw to third on the steal with a right handed batter in the box. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much for the videos but I have one question. I'm 14 and I have a pitcher on my team that throws mid 80s but is extremely wild. I think I have all the right techniques but its hard to catch when half the pitches he throws are behind the hitter. He's a lot like wild thing from major league. Its really fun but really hard to catch for him, any suggestions?
Those are tough guys to catch for... there’s no special technique that will make it easier. When you catch a guy like that you just have to work a bit harder because you aren’t sure where the next pitch will be. Stay mentally focused and don’t take pitches off. Hopefully he can learn some control and that will make you two a much better duo. Thanks for commenting!
Catchers are all powerful lol... just kidding. They are the two most important positions on the field. A great pitcher provides more value than a great catcher but catchers super important. And as a catcher you can work with your pitchers to make them even better. Our goal as catchers is to maximize the value of pitchers.
