Vikas Sir...Can you please confirm if during SIP reg also AAR-AAA(P-CSCF--PCRF)---RAR-RAA(PCRF---GGSN) message flow occurs or not? Or does it occur while while Volte MO-MT call only during dedicated bearer establishment only?

P-CSCF is derived by PGW either via DNS Query or via Static Entry in PGW ( Also refer to 3GPP TS 24.229 , Section 9.2.1.c.II ) . Transfer P-CSCF address(es) within the PDP context activation procedure. The UE shall indicate the request for a P-CSCF address to the GGSN within the Protocol Configuration Options IE of the ACTIVATE PDP CONTEXT REQUEST message or ACTIVATE SECONDARY PDP CONTEXT REQUEST message. If the GGSN provides the UE with a list of P-CSCF IPv6 addresses in the ACTIVATE PDP CONTEXT ACCEPT message or ACTIVATE SECONDARY PDP CONTEXT ACCEPT message, the UE shall assume that the list is prioritised with the first address within the Protocol Configuration Options IE as the P-CSCF address with the highest priority

Vikas one doubt. From SAE-GW you said PCO option, tell me something in detail about this. If Multiple PCSCF's like 5 or 6 PCSCF's are there then how PCO will give correct PCSCF IP. What is PCO option where it is available where it is configured and how SAE_GW identify correct PCSCF IP. Please explain...Thanks...

Hello Vikas, great content. Quick Question- If default bearer for QCI 6 or QCI 5 breaks during a call setup(INVITE- 180 ringing), can this result into a call setup failure?

I guess, by the time a 180 ringing procedure from a called UE to the calling UE in the INVITE message from calling to called UE, there is already resources reservation and dedicated bearer setup (QCI 1 if voice call). The call cannot proceed if the signalling part of the call is lost. This is my understanding of the flow. There must be a secure connectivity between UE and P-CSCF during the call

Yes , As explained in Bearer section , IMS APN is created on Default Bearer which has its own IP address ( this IP is different than one allocated for Internet APN )

Syed, P-CSCF IP address are stored internally in GGSN or P-CSCF address has to be obtained via DHCP . UE once it is attached to the network triggers a PDP context activation procedure which carries PCO field with request of P-CSCF address.

Hello, Can you please guide me how can I enable volte on my Motorola z2 play phone and the carrier provider is airtel... I am unable to use volte on my phone although my phone supports jio volte connection but I'm unable to use the same service on Airtel number. I further checked my ims status there it shows that ims is not registered and volte is unable... Please guide. Thanks and regards

Why I-CSCF query the HSS 2nd time for S-CSCF address ,why not in 1st attempt.

I-CSCF is a stateless proxy so it can't store any information, for that purpose it has to connected every time to HSS.

I am not sure what has happened .. I have seen your other videos which are quite good specially the ones having NFVi etc .. but these IMS videos are so terrible ..
