4:24 Dwyrin's ability to spin the points his way always amuses me. "12 points there, 12 points here, it's equal!" When I can guarantee that if he was doing the same counting but he was the one playing white, he'd count 3x6=18 points on the bottom and "maybe 2x4=8 points on the right for black because all this can be reduced".
Im pretty consistent in warning of the dangers of just making bases and relying on just your opening 2 corners for all of your points. Im also pretty consistent in warning of the dangers of how many points can be obtained from a weak group that can be harassed. my positional analysis does not depend on which color i am.
@@dwyrin Sure, but I’m referring specifically to when you’re counting points in two individual regions, not including the sentiment of the rest of the board. In the region that’s yours you always count the points all the way up to your “furthest” stone, sometimes even a line beyond. Where as for the opponent you always count one or two lines less than where their “furthest” stone is.
31:50 It is too frustrating to loose a game with a stupid mistake. That's the primary reason why I feel stresful during games. Because there is noone but me to accuse. "I lost this game because of one little mistake, I am too stupid for this game" etc. Thanks for the video Dwyrin, I hope, I can buy your book in future.
2:46 When comparing territory like this you forget to take into account the number of stones played by each player. In this example Black has already played an extra move and has to play one more to get a box like shape that can be territory and many more to completely surround. Don‘t forget that points in the middle are less efficient because you have to close 4 sides, not just 2 as in the corner. The value of blacks thickness here is not making points but being able to play big moves elsewhere because you don‘t have to worry about it being attacked.
@dwyrin i am watching every episode you are uploading. And i want to say thank you, as especially your road to 1Dan is really helping me to get out of the double digit kyus and hopefully 1Dan some day.
