I would use a HLK-LD2410 sensor instead of the motion sensor. Especially in a home cinema, people will not move very much, so the radar-based presence detection actually would work better. Great stuff otherwise!
The 4.7k resistor is to pull up the voltage so that data from the temperature/humidity sensor can be read reliably. I tried the test without the resistor, it still works.
