Tara There is a saying. Let me share it with you. That which you persist in Doing , Becomes easier Not that the nature of the thing has changed, But your power to do Has increased! Your creativity is incredible, Thank you for sharing it with us. I can't wait for next week to see your progress. Happy valentine's day to you and your family!
Love Crusoe's reaction to the retraction of the tape measure! Pure wonder. Paying attention to the aesthetics of your build has transformed your property from ordinary to beautiful. The plantings, the cobbled road, the consistent use of natural materials from the area are all making disparate areas become cohesive and everything a pleasure to see.
The best part…getting the goggles and headgear. Gotta look the part, Tara…and safety first. I’m loving this pizza oven build. The pizzas and bread will taste all that much better. So proud of you! You are the coolest girl on the internet❤️
Respective projects are looking great! I love how the low wall and railing turned out. Laughed at Crusoe’s ‘birthday bike’ delivery and how cute he was with the tape measure 😂😂😂
Omg! Crusoe tells Sawyer to go back and go over there to make sure Sawyer is in a safe area. Now that is brilliant. He has already learned to respects workspaces that can harm and protect him all at once. Amazing big brother. Sorry, he found out about the bicycle, but I am happy for him. He will be flying and doing loops in no time. Joel is an awesome young man. He is such a good hard worker. He is always willing to learn new and also teach what he knows. Awesome compliment to your team. The porch and pizza over are off to a great start. Tare you rock, literally. Well done, girl! I am proud of you, and I am fully confident in you as well. You're gonna rock! LOL. Sorry for the puns. It's my day! lol. Happy Valentine's Day to you all.❤
Our boys have a very special bond Peter, they are just too sweet. He absolutely LOVES his new bike, which makes us so happy. We agree with you, Joao is incredible. Thanks for all your support and yes I'm going to rock 😂😂
To quote John “ well done, you !!” Tara - I’m so proud of you !! Cutting metal and drilling holes in granite - that’s quite an accomplishment!!!!! ❤😘❤️
I am so proud of you. I drove a semi truck 53ft trailer Kenworth before I became a Therpist . I was terrified at first . Now I am doing my first international move if things go well. I am doing afraid but brave . I’m gonna buy me a Newby shirt Be Brave. Thank you for being transparent . It was what I feel now.
I am not going to lie ..I giggled a little bit but I give you so much credit for trying something new. I am sure at the end that pizza oven will look wonderful Tara …you are amazing and all the other projects are coming out beautiful as well!
Great job, guys! Looks like your projects are coming along nicely. Tara, the scenery behind you as you were working on your project, the lawn and all the landscaping you guys have done looked and sounded so lovely with the beautiful day there with birds singing in the background. You guys have accomplished so much already. Congratulations to you all! 🎉
Happy Valentine's Day Newby family. It was lovely to see you progress with your pizza oven Tara. It will come together beautifully. Crusoe will.get hours of enjoyment out of his bike. Happy birthday Crusoe 🎉🎉🎉.
Great job, Tara! My husband died and I too, just let him to that kind of stuff. I learned that I can do stuff too as I had to. My precaution would be to advise you to put tennis balls on the tips of that rebar. If the boys fell, if you tripped and fell, it could do a lot of damage. Also you will be bending up and down, building that wall and it would be easy to forget to pay attention and put one of those rebar tips through your eye.
Thanks Vicki. We are so sorry to hear about your husband but well done on getting things done. You can definitely do anything! Thanks for the advice on the rebar 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Good Lord! I just realized that this is not the first time I have sent you "safety advice". I am old enough to be your mother and you are all such a sweet family. Sorry about that! However, I cannot promise to stop.
Hiya Newbys! You go Tara 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 , great start. It is going to be brilliant! Having watched Crusoe as a baby , it’s delightful to see him riding a bike and showing Sawyer what to do . John, your finished wall and porch are looking good 👍👍👍👍Thankyou , as always for sharing . Sending lots of love x❤️💙💙💙
Tara, you ARE one of the coolest chicks on RU-vid 😂 well done you! Women are like teabags, they have no idea how strong they are until they are put in hot water….. you are proving to be strong, not just trying new things but taking small children to India, moving to a new country, building a home and growing you family’s food. Not to sound condescending- if you were my daughter I would be SO proud of you.
The porch is looking fabulous! Thank you for showing how dowels are used to secure posts together. Loved every second of the process. And Tara, I’m with you 100% in your feelings about trying something new. You did it and I can’t wait for more. And, lastly, thank you for the film making app. I’m going to try it.
Hello Newbys! I enjoy your content regularly. I wanted to recommend a youtube couple who built their outdoor kitchen on one of their shows. They also built a pizza oven, a baking oven. In case you can gain some ideas from their videos. The channel is Off Grid with Jake and Nicole. You probably know of them. I so enjoy your creativity, courage and willingness to share your lives with us. And I learn so much from the freedom you give your children. Happy Heart Day!
For the Pizza Oven Dome carve a dome out of styrofoam big block maybe two for easy cutting out after dome cement is set through the oven opening. This will give the height and widths. Here in Canada we see big buildings even byways have styrofoam base or templates being used in the building forms. May this bless you!
17:07 ohhh guys the view at this angle guyyyyys!! BEAUTIFUL 😻 😘😘 you are such an inspiration. The things I’ve learnt through your channel is just amazing. Thank you Newbys 👏🏾
There is such a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction when you take on the unknown to realize a project you've envisioned. Well done Tara and John. Great progress today.
Wow, what an amazing job you are all doing in your individual projects. The porch looks fabulous , what talent you have John. Tara you certainly looked the business in your safety gear and you are doing brilliant, the pizza oven will be such a huge achievement. Look forward to the next vlog ❤xx
Your doing great work tara on the build, when crusoes bike turned up please dont get him to be your local pizza delivery drivery ,nothing but admiration for your superb efforts
Hi Tara, you rock👍🏼This episode was exciting and I was grinning the whole time looking at your excited face. Cruise’s expression in the end was Epic😍 looking forward to “ pizza oven build”.
Rome wasn't built in a day! It looks to be a great start, and you're learning. I'd be proud of that! Crusoe will be off down the valleys on his wheels soon!!!
Loved the safety gear Tara, beautiful & smart lady! Great video, both projects are going to be amazing when completed! Best part is the free style in which you build, let it come natural & see where it takes your imagination, absolutely brilliant!!! ❤
I think we have said it before, but after this last episode, it is worth saying again. You both are so inspiring and wonderful role models! Watching and hearing Tara today was just wonderful. What she said was spot on. Pushing ourselves, learning one step at a time was absolutely spot on. John of course is just awesome at his craft and the two of you together just makes my wife and feel good and optimistic. Thank you so much!
A pizza oven how wonderful. And you are such a brave courageous talented woman to take on this project. I am so proud of you and you have a right to be proud of yourself blessings and love from New Mexico
I’ve said it before, but so many of our building and self sufficiency skills have gone due to the mass manufacturing and reliance on supermarkets to provide for ourselves. You two are just truly inspirational, in all your endeavours you are already teaching us so much. I honestly think in the future with all your skills and the beautiful place you’ve made into a home, you would be wonderful at running self sufficiency courses, where several people could stay at a time maybe in some self build wood lodges or yurts and at the same time helping on your homestead. Your enthusiasm for life is catching and I so enjoy your videos 😊
Crusoe's reaction to the retraction of the tape measure was hilarious, and John just casually turns around and asks Crusoe 'did you hurt your finger'? I had to watch this a few times chuckling my head off (other kids would have bawled their heads off, not Crusoe. I have every confidence in you Tara, go for it.
Hi Gang !! I am rooting for you, Tara !! Once you have started, you will feel more and more secure during the project !! Then, once its finished, you will create a unique pizza and name it Tara.... As for the slightly neglected wheelbarrow, add some larger washer, tighten the bolts and get some air in the tire, and voila, like now....ok, mebbe a bit of paint. My wheelbarrow I coated the insides with the thick gunk one have under a car. Black and thick and slightly flexible, works fine with soil and stone, as it can take more bashing than ordinary paint.... Joao´s rendering turned out very good, and also the frame at the door, with the short wall under the small fence. Hope Crusoe enjoyed his new bike, and such fancy helmet too !! Anyway, congrats for drilling in granit, Tara, it went so well.... All in all, a very good video, all af ye doing stuff and having fun.....!! Allda bestest from mikke...;-D
Hi Mikke. Thanks so much friend. I am really enjoying this project and I'm so proud of myself for doing it all by myself too. Crusoe is loving his new bike! We are so happy to hear you enjoyed this episode friend ❤️❤️
Great work guys! Tara, lemme share the first rule of masonry, as it's a one-word mantra to be repeated to yourself before you pick up the first stone: GLOVES! 🙈😂
Hi Tara! So excited for your project! If you’re interested, a while ago The Nomadic Movement built a rustic pizza oven on their farm in Panama. Just to give you some ideas. You all are so wonderful!
Hello all, more power to you Tara, you go girl, if I was 30 yrs younger I would have done that too, at your age nothing phased me, I know that feeling of achievement, can't beat it, just to stand back and look at what you've done. I saw Crusoe wanting to do something and Sawyer was in the way so little clever clogs distracted him and asked him "what's over there?", very smart little fellow, genius in fact. Cheers all, keep on keeping on!!!🥰😘🤗💕👌👍👍👍
Hello wonderful Frances, as always it is lovely to hear from you. You really can't beat the feeling of achievement! Our boys have a very special bond indeed friend ❤️❤️
Tara you ate supper mommy. Look at what YOU accomplished. Wow, power tools are cool I especially like my circular saw. I make crafts for Etsy stuff like that, so I use some power tools to make them. John that porch I don’t know if you’re calling the porch, the front door, Looks really nice. I like when you go ahead with the project. Because when you talk about it, with your vision, it will change. So I think you did a great job on that front entryway. And Jewel was right there helping you guys. So nice to have another hand. I didn’t see Sawyer much, but you Tara probably wouldn’t have been able to get as much done as you did. That was awesome.
Så fint det blir med muren och vid entrén, Tara du är så duktig som gör så mycket själv borrar och fixar med stenarna. Jag tycker att det är så kul att se allt fint ni gör på gården.❤
It's good to see that you got the 'goggles' for cutting the reo . In Australia, we call angle grinders 'widow makers'. I had palpitations watching you use it without any protection.
Every view today is panoramic.. What a wonderful place to make a life.. I’m enjoying listening to Tara’s process trying to figure out her oven.. John’s wall turned out so lovely..
My husband bought me a circular saw and I haven't looked back - built a three bay compost area, a tomato trellis, and I'm now on to a repair of a picnic table. The most exciting part was using a hired nail gun to put the compost bins together.
Another fantastic episode is joao is a god send bless him so sweet, Tara well done hun so proud of you I am glad you got your little project going on it’s lovely to watch and it is going to be amazing as well and how lovely John been proud of you as well it is amazing love watching you all it is inspiring. We are renovating our kitchen and I helped my husband knock down the wall it was amazing to do scary but brilliant so I understand how important it is to push your self x
How great for all three of your guys to see you prove what a girl/mom can do. You can do anything! When you have your first pizza, imagine how proud they'll be.
Zim girls getting it done!! 💪🏼I feel the same way every time I start a new project on our farm and then I'm like, just one rock at a time. My favourite saying nowadays is "we'll figure it out" 🎉 Well done. Look after your back ❤
Hi!! Your farm is getting more and more beautiful every video I watch. Your babies too! I've been watching your videos for a long time and I love it so much ❤ beijinhos
The second you said you were going to get goggles I was sooooo happy. You don’t want to take ANY chances with your eyes! You protected your ears as well.❤
Tara , your doing amazingly , I understand your trepidation with the power tool , but you did it anyway ! What a powerful feeling ,and it does not matter how big or small we think the achievement is , it's pushing our own barriers that is the real achievement, I did something myself that seemed insignificant to a lot of people , but to me is was something I had tried about 6 times before , but last year I learned to crotchet , I'm so glad I persevered as I can now do it , it's seems daft to others , but to me it's huge .( Also well done for the safety gear !! ) Your being a positive example for many reasons x
Well done Tara it can be very daunting and overwhelming taking on something new but its always best to break it down to each stage you have to accomplish, and only focus on the one you have to do first. Having never used those tools or built anything like this you should be very proud - I am :) The porch looks good John and Joao (hope thats hope you spell it) has done a great job on the rendering x
Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Birthday Crusoe and the Porch, the Wall and Pizza Oven is over the top. I forgot it was Wednesday, so happy to see your video. I can feel your excitement Tara and the reward you feel for what has been accomplished thus far. Great Day!!!
Woohoo Tara, what a great job, you are the coolest (and most genuine) girl on the internet. I too would have felt overwhelmed as to where to start. I probably would have spent more than 20minutes procrastinating - to then laugh at myself when I accomplished that next step. I love the look of the crazy path across the lawn and the look of the garden opposite!!! Beautiful view from your decking and out door kitchen. Also loving the look of the new entry to the stone house, though I was concerned that it may make getting furniture in and out of the door way with the large stone pillars make it narrow. The new garden wall looks wonderful and Joao's rendering is coming up a treat. You are both so inspiring. Much Love from South Australia
I would say making a pizza oven is no small task and I am so glad to see you glowing with delight as you tackle this project. I have watched on RU-vid a gentleman making an outdoor oven and I was in awe. I love how nicely the stair wall is shaping up. I do think you might put in an order for a more sturdy wheelbarrow before you wreck your back ❤
Parabéns brave Tara…I’d be scared stiff to use power tools like that! You really are thinking big with your pizza oven! It’s wonderful to see how your magical homestead is emerging, seeing the hobbit house with the lawn and pathways and all the places the kids can explore! Beijinhos de Marraquexe ❤
Happy Valentines Day to you and John and the boys. Great job so far Tara. I don’t like power tools either but you are doing a great job! Can’t wait to see what’s next. Much love ❤️
I'm watching you all work in what I would definitely not consider February clothes and just marvel. I hope the weather lasts. We are still quite cold and expecting more snow in the next few days.
Tara darling, very good job today. I can relate as I built a stone pathway and was driven to make it work, no doubt about it, I ended up exhausted and sore but I did it. So, I am sure you will be excited with your achievement even if it is not the Taj Mahal you might wish it to be, it will be your artistic contribution so keep going.
I think the best thing about watching your Portugal homestead is listening to the birds sing to you. India only had the "safari" where you could hear the birds.
