This video actually made me wonder that if Islam was created for social cohesion and identity building over a long period of time, creating narratives of a prophet and divine revelation... The ancient Canaanites may well have done the same to build their own identity in the midst of other people in Canaan. They were tribesmen who transitioned to monarchy and could then create Judaism for social cohesion, replacing polytheism with henotheism and eventually monotheism. Abraham and Moses might have been mythical or at least legendary figures and the Torah could not have been written by a single person. There are many doublets and even contradictions in it. And the Exodus was probably written much later as a unifying story when Egypt was a political enemy of Israel. If we subject the Old Testament to historical criticism, we can see that the Prophets did not make future predictions but recounted events that had passed already. I doubt that any so-called sacred text across human civilizations is really divinely inspired, let alone directly authored by a deity.

He did nothing to Islam as such. He demolished Sunnah, the traditionalists, conservatives and extremists. Islam in it's purest form, as a sola scriptura religion, is more monotheistic than any other Abrahamic religion in existence. Christian theology is very weak at that, but historically, Christianity is strong due to Roman conversion to it.

Why? Why must everything be man-made fiction or else nothing is? Seems like a fallacy based on all-or-nothing thinking. The whole endeavor of investigating and seeking truth presupposes that some things are true, some things are false, that it is at least possible in many cases to distinguish between the two, and that it actually matters. If everything is either all true or all false, that would would obviate the need for all scholarly investigation and discourse. Nothing would matter, and so why even bring it up.
