This has to be one of the smartest smash videos out there. It can actually help correct basic smash issues like the hips swinging out first and how the back swing is not forced, but passive as part of acceleration.

I forgot to comment on this one when you first released it, what a great explanation. It's so easy when you hear certain tips to misunderstand or exaggerate certain things. I've definitely made the mistake of trying to over rotate hips and shoulder, it really doesn't help at all. This video points it out really well!

That's very useful insights on proper technique. The overuse of rotation is something I've not spotted and was starting to experiment with. My swing technique being too big I look forward to fix this points. My Inconsistent technique means also sometimes my power come effortless and sometimes it is forced.

I suggest hold racket, breathing and smash posture for 0.5 seconds and hit with full power. You always should behind the shuttle for this technique. And it is good for wing attack and it helps follow through and get in front court. It really makes damage

Amazing tips, Tobias. I wonder if the first two tips are the reason why my "China Jump" / Jump Out stick smashes often times feel more powerful than my traditional smashes when I am in good position? The jump out prevents the hip rotation (scissor kick) motion, stopping it short and transferring the power up through the arm. I suppose the same thing is happening with my shoulder. Very interesting. Thanks for the videos!
@tobiaswadenka8435
@tobiaswadenka8435 Год назад
Yes pretty sure that is the reason 👍 having too much time in the rear court can sometimes also lead to that mistakes and many times people hit harder when they have less time after flatter lifts and they are not able to use too much hip and shoulder

This is very helpful. I have one specific query. I am a right handed player. While holding the racket in the forehand grip and trying to smash, i somehow always tend to point the racket head towards my left which either results in slicing or the shuttle always being hit towards my left. Any suggestions how to correct this ? Should i slightly rotate my wrist and try ?

@@daemonorops3528 Things that strengthen the back, I think a good basic exercise is the T: lying on the floor face down, arms to the side, thumbs pointing up and then raise your arms by pulling the shoulder blades together. @Nimac91
@Nimac91 5 месяцев назад
Why are you not talking about finger power? Almost all the power in a smash comes from pinching your grip at the very last moment you are going to hit the shuttle. You have a relaxed grip and the very moment you swing you also tense your mustle to create what's called finger power or wrist power. All the best pro's use this to get atleast 100kph harder smashes. Adjusting hip, shoulder and backswing are important, but I could have terrible pusture and yet do a very powerful smash because I used finger power.
@evansphenomenal
@evansphenomenal 5 месяцев назад
A lot of people make a mistake of trying to precise time their squeeze, causing inconsistencies. You just have to keep your grip relaxed and let your subconscious do the squeezing for you.
