Great review. I have a Vanguard VEO 2 carbon fiber tripod but I also like this one too. Not sure if it’s a true upgrade though. Let me know if you have any thoughts!
A lot of reviews of this tripod fail to mention that while the manufacturer says it is rated for thirty pounds, that is simply a gross exaggeration. This tripod is not for larger lenses, and is simply not engineered for larger equipment. There is far too much deflection in the legs for anything but standard and wide angle lenses on smaller camera bodies. Also, when spreading the legs out to the second setting, the tripod simply becomes unusable. This tripod simply does not offer the stability that can be expected from Gitzo, Manfrotto, or the better Slik models.
@@DanielDebenham ! I bought one because the reviews were positive and it was simply disappointing in that respect. As this review says, I got the Corey model. I don't know whether the other models are better, but I would not put a five hundred dollar lens on this tripod!
I was very interested to hear the differences and your thoughts but unfortunately I stopped watching after 3 minutes due to the distracting, unnecessary background music. Why???
Yeah getting to about 7:00 in your video, you start to hold it such that the legs you aren't holding are still in line with the centre column... on mine they would flop down quite a bit.
