I watched this video and applied it to an 80 man tournament online - took 5th place. The part that (finally) sunk in was how different hands are valuable in different ways when deep-staked compared to short....Not "how" to play them, but which ones "to" play and why. Awesome!

You're my favorite poker mind. I've learned more from you and improved my game more off your knowledge than anything else, short of experience. Thank you so much for all you do, and never stop. You the real G.O.A.T.

I stopped the vid at 13:09 and followed the image, mostly the middle one. I didn't go away from it. I won the tourney. Were only 90 people, but it made a difference.

Really good advice - studying my short stacked play has yielded huge results for me in the past year. Latest example is a 2nd place finish of 977 runners this past Saturday. Super happy to be able to navigate with 25-30BB where most players are just spewing equity to the rest of the table. FYI - final hand was flopped 2 pairs for me to top set for the IR. I turned a FH, but he had a higher one and the chips all went in. Not much you can do at that point. Thanks for the practical lessons!

4th place in a $150 2d Thanksgiving local event. Cashed just over $1k. Watch to most of your vids, and read almost all your blogs. Great information. Please stop. Don't want the whole poker community to catch on! LOL🤣 Thanks JL👍

I subscribed a lot of poker channels. Most of them are fun to watch. But i found yours the most informative and actually improve my poker game. after watching your videos and the free content on your site. i went from never won a tournament to consistently getting into the money for the past 2 weeks. My best was FT 9th in a 5.50 tournament with 800 entries. i won 144$ !. Thank you so much for your contents. Once i save enough i 'll will defiantly invest in your full poker coaching class. Wish you all the best Jonathan. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas .

Good Info, but just for future, might make the 'raise' blue color on the charts (around 13:30) the same on all 3. IE pink means shove on last two charts but raise on first one.

@@PokerCoaching really appreciate your positivity and real life scenario explanations. I'm a 1-2 nl , 2-4 limit & small tournament player in South Florida. I usually do great and am a regular grinder, but some weeks i seem to lose focus, get greedy, drink too much, get unlucky on the river or a combination of those things that lead to the gambling woes 😬 you really point out some of the flaws in my game and some good things to watch out for in the opposition

Johnathan, you had mentioned to not play small pairs to avoid set over set situations. If you play middle pairs wouldn’t you run into more straights than you will run into set over set when playing a small pair? For example with pocket nines on a 10,9, 8 flop.
@Gjmkytbky
@Gjmkytbky Год назад
Jonathon, i really tend to struggle with mid pocket pairs from say middle position. 7s,8s,9s, etc. Say i raise it from middle position, get 1 or 2 callers from blinds or later positions... and flop comes with 2 over cards... are they essentially trash? would a check/fold every time be the best option for those scenarios?

I have a big tournament to play tomorrow, and I feel much more confident going in now. Until yesterday, I was a degen burning money but I hope it changes tomorrow. I somehow also lose a lot with aces over kings (5 times in the last 3 days). Can we ever fold kings pre flop?

Is it better to play more hands more aggressively in cash games than in tournaments? I like to play agressively in both, and it seems that it works better in cash games
@PokerCoaching
@PokerCoaching 3 года назад
It depends on the situation!
@gabrielboily2641
@gabrielboily2641 3 года назад
I feel like in cash games you get less action because players can just wait for a hand against you. You can rebuy anytime but in tournaments a lot of players have a sense of urgency because most tournaments you can't rebuy. If players are short stacked like Jonathan mentioned they push or fold.

You can't be afraid to coin flip. If you fold whenever you suspect a flip you are folding too much

Is it really profitable in the long run to shove all in with QTS against a under the gun raiser? It feels like your beat there a lot of the time. I get you have equity with high suited connectors but still seems like quite a rash play.

Jonathan Little - Poker Coaching again sorry for the thumbs down but I’m very very visual learner, I found it a bit hard to keep up with the explanations, when you showed the examples that was nice and helpful, um for me personally I find that I get very unlucky vs B.B. or sb when I raise from small Blind up to cut off, an example I played a state champion tourney where the blinds where 75k 150k, I was sitting just shy of 1million in chips would say around 700k/900k folds to me sb I have j10 suited diamond, I spent all tourney avoiding raising B.B. and sb to not get caught and B.B. who has me covered wakes up with qqs, this seems to be almost the same example as your kj suited example.... I’m curious what your view on this hand is, I ended up shoving pre and came 24th out of around 600+ players cashed $250 but I felt I had the stack to win the tourney.... I’ll change the thumbs down to up for the fast response thanks heaps too
