We NEED the self publishing video as well as more of the manga videos, I LOVE them especially as someone who wants to make their own manga or comic style series. Please keep them coming in
Heres my 2 cents for anybody thats wanting to start their own series: just do it. Dont wait for your skills to improve but rather make your own style and improve it over time. If your mind is telling you to stop working on it, flip it off its trying to stop you. The only thing that can stop you is you. If you feel that you are all done for the day then thats when you stop. Dont just quit mid page or after just a couple. Go for 5 minimum. As a guy who has already created a manga of his own, take this advice and use it.
@@thatoneoptimist oh i havent released it yet i still have a lot of touching up to do and also cant yet afford to release it. Surprisingly expensive to put it on shelves. I can give you a preview however. Its only 20 pages right now as its a prototype
Thank you for this motivation. I have a friend who is counting on me to make her story into a good graphic novel. But my art style is a mix of manga and manhwa so I'm still trying to improve my trash art style which I had no faith in until now. Thank you. Also, the second you release that manga of yours, please reply to this comment as I will be waiting for it with @thatoneoptimist. Again, thank you.
@@varnika526 most of the graphic novels i know of are in manga styles. Dont ever call your style trash. Call it your own. Improve it over time. But never call it trash. Artist to artist, we are too critical on ourselves. And if i remember to, ill come back and give you guys a link to what im willing to show off
I think the biggest world shattering information is that screen tones are quite literally physically pasted on, like I thought maybe they just got their intern to draw that in (most successful big manga authors have a team) or at least done in post digitally, but honestly that makes some sense
I cant express how happy and thankful I am that you're still doing this stuff. I'm finally pushing myself to actually learn and practice, and these tutorials and lessons are beyond helpful.
The way Marcel make his videos is amazing! Like, you don't even want to skip a second . I think we were all waiting for this video .Personally i was about to stop drawing when i find this page 8month ago and i couldn't be happier. Ty sm Big Man
I’ve thought about making manga for a while but always gave up on it ,with this channel I don’t even need to learn how to do everything complicated 😂 great videos!
THANK YOU SIR. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. In all seriousness I've been struggling with this. Great video. Love it. Remember to not push yourself too hard Marcel. Hope you're having a great day.
Lol, when I first started doing comics/manga in high school (over 20 years ago), videos like this didn't exist so I assumed screen tones were drawn by hand. And that's exactly what I did. I got really good at it too. I stopped doing comics in 2010, and picked it back up the other day, realized I'm rusty and figured I'd look up some tutorials. I actually didn't know screen tones were pasted on! I think I'll stick to drawing them by hand because I don't like drawing digitally or copy/pasting stuff in, and it's what I'm comfortable doing. But it's cool to learn something new!
Everyone THE TEACHING GOD IS HERE! Edit:Thnk u so much guys i have never gotten this much likes Looks like everyone agrees with me.And read my manga which will be coming at the last of this year.Or next year.
Bruh I never knew that Screentones came from a different material that gets glued on. I was legit expecting some advanced shading tech but that gave me whiplash
thank you IKEA, love your videos. this was very helpful and I appreciate that you are still making how to manga videos. keep the good work up, I'll always be supporting you.
Thanks for the tips. Me & my brother are making manga, our goal is to enter kadokawa publication manga competition at the end of august. We hope to win this 😊
This helps me. Not video related really but kinda is...I'm trying to get back to manga-ish styles, cause I went too realistic for my graphic novel and got bored and frustrated so quickly with the results. My only problems with the style is it always feels to me like there are style rules. Also the story itself isn't manga so I don't want to mislead. There are no manga characteristic whatsoever in it. I love watching his vids cause I feel he pulls you out of your head that way and makes you want to move forward. This is helping already
tbh, I thought learning from youtube tutorials was cringe and that it's helpless, but I thought I'd at least give it a try, and now here I am after nearly 5 months of watching your youtube tutorials and I actually ended up liking them, especially yours.
planning to write a series and this just happened to appear on my recommended right before i was about to lay out some character concepts definitely saving this for when i actually start making it!
I know you said your manga videos don't do especially well, but as someone about to release their first chapter your videos have been super helpful and the one on publishing would be super useful!
After a long time so much time thank you very very much sir for another manga video it'll help me a lot thank you so so so so much 🙇🙇❤❤😉☺❤👍❤❤🙇🙇 Also I am really really waiting from a very long time for the video of how to publish you manga by yourself I hope that you'll make it too soon Again thank you so so so so so so so so much sir for everything 😉☺😊❤👍🙇🙇🙇🙇❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much bro I am just getting into animation and want to make a story based around a anime girl that has family issues and then run's away, and no I'm not talking about fireworks the anime. It will be nice to incorporate these things in my animation ideas. Please keep up the good work. I love this video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can you do a video on how to layout manga/comic pages? Like, how would I decide on the shape and size of my panels to keep the reader flowing seamlessly?
Do not worry about your accent, I live in geramny. I am from Pakistan and every one gives me bombastic side eye and I don't get offended and keep up with your tutorials , love them❤😊
Could you please make a video on how to draw in an anime style? I’ve learned a lot of the other stuff needed, but I can’t ever get my sketches to really look the way I want them to. I just want to learn the general differences. Like, how anime differs from real life in terms of design, and how to stylize my art in an anime style. I know it’s a lot to ask, but I’ve been writing a story recently, and I’ve been wanting to draw the scenes to bring it to life. My mom has Aphantasia, so I want to be able to let her see the things that I imagine. Anyway, that’s all. 😊
Love ur vids, i loved art all my life but found a new love when i started this manga im in the process of. It would be awesome to see vids on tips using art apps/programs with manga! The more learning materials, the better!
Love the manga themed videos, please make more! Also, do you have recommendations for where to find good digital screentone files? I'm looking forward to the future video about publishing your own manga, thank you!
