The Ferrari LaFerrari is a limited production mid-engine, mild hybrid sports car built by Italian automotive manufacturer Ferrari. It was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show and only 499 units were produced, each costing more than 1 million Euros. The LaFerrari features a hybrid powerplant with a total power output of 950hp (788hp from the V12 engine and 160hp from the electric motor). It has a dry weight of around 1,255 kg and boasts impressive performance figures, including a top speed of 217 mph.
Design Development: The design development of the LaFerrari involved nine conceptual design studies in 2011, which were eventually narrowed down to two full-size concepts: LaFerrari Concept Manta and LaFerrari Concept Tensostruttura. The final design of the LaFerrari is similar to the Manta concept.
LaFerrari (2013-2016): The original LaFerrari model was based on findings from testing of the FXX development prototype and research conducted by the Millechili Project at the University of Modena. Only 499 units were produced.
LaFerrari Aperta (2016-2018): This open-top version of the LaFerrari featured enhancements such as a removable roof, re-angled radiators, and improved aerodynamics. A total of 200 units were pre-sold to customers via invitation.
FXX-K (2015-2017): The FXX-K is Ferrari’s research and development vehicle based on the LaFerrari, featuring a hybrid powerplant with a total power output of 1,050 PS and advanced track-focused technologies.
FXX-K Evo (2017-2019): An aerodynamic package available for the existing FXX-K model, offering increased downforce and performance improvements.
