I'm a retired U.S. military guy, married to a Filipina, and living full-time in the Philippines. There is NO lack of good singers here, and never has been! And, after a few drinks, NO ONE is too shy to try to sing karaoke. Obviously, not ALL Filipino's are great singers. Some are just as bad as anyone else. But, overall, they have far more singing talent than most countries, for sure!

I'll never get tired watching this video. Typical of Filipino drinking session combined with Karaoke. Wonderful and enjoyable with their fantastic vocals.

Guys we do love our Michael Bolton, Diana Ross and Celine Dion songs here and most singers around that era so Filipinos has that standard. It doesn’t mean that all of us can sing tho but most of us are exposed to old school singers with stellar vocals. That being said karaoke might be the reason a lot of Filipinos can sing because in every event we get to practice our vocals.
