I agree there is so much confusion about the term “Estrogen Dominance”… (it reminds me of “adrenal fatigue”). I feel it’s more about semantics and accuracy that creates the confusion (and your frustration). As your video informs, the metabolic dysfunction from poor detox, gut issues and systemic inflammation - conditions that unfortunately ‘dominate’ DOES have the potential to create an imbalance in estrogen (its metabolites and various forms) in relation to other enzymes and progesterone.
What a valuable video. When we are told by the medical community that estrogen causes breast cancer and we need to take estrogen blockers, is the answer truly that we are not detoxifying estrogen properly?
Love your outlook and videos!! Can you recommend a doctor with your thought process and knowledge in NYC/NY? Recently diagnosed with ERPR+ breast cancer and need guidance from a doc like you, so hard to find!!!
Hi Dr Gersh. Thank you for all your informative videos. They are by far my favorite on menopause and HRT. In interviews, I've heard you say that serum estradiol levels should be above 50 pg/ml and closer to 100 pg/ml. Is 80 pg/ml close enough? Would 115 pg/ml be better? Thank you so much.
Thank you for explaining this! I definitely had too much e during peri. I needed large amounts of progesterone to feel normal. But the blood test didn’t show this and it took a while to figure out. . What test will show how much estrogens and which ones we have in our body? And how it metabolizes?
So... If I am post-menopausal and slim, am I making any oestrogen at all? And for phytoestrogens such as soy, which kind of oestrogen do they resemble? (sorry, that's probably not the right word but I hope you understand what I mean!)
