Hi Queens!
This video is a 3 month loc update on my comb coil method style. I received a retwist and a cute style!
You will see the buddiing and build up. throughout the video as I ended this video with a 15 week update! I spoke on what I've been experences and items I have been using to maintain my locs.

I had to keep my hair washed cause my scalp was like that. Made my hair loc a lot faster, smell good, and feel clean 😊 you don’t want to keep all that sweat and build up sitting in your hair like that

Oh ok! It may have come from the sweat and wet hair from the gym. I haven’t had it since then but I also fell back from working out 5x/week too. Ima get back on it and see how it goes. A bit frightened to wash / retwist my hair myself

@@QueenAmeirica don’t be! I was too at first but that buildup on my scalp was getting harder to hide and itchy. Drove me crazy and I ended up washing my hair 3 times in 2 weeks. It was frizzy and not so stick lookin. I ended up loving it so I keep all that product washed out my hair now.

Looks like you have dermatitis. Oils can make flaking worse. Ask your loctitian to use a different product for retwisting. I have that and it’s the one reason I’m scared to loc. I have to wash my hair every 7-10 days so the thought of only washing monthly scares me. I think the gel is also adding the flakes. Apple cider vinegar works too. Keep us posted. Started with the video when you got your starter locs and love watching your journey. I’m on week 2 and my locs are probably 1-2 inches 😂

Could be the oil! I don't use oil at all anymore and my scalp doesn't itch as much anymore. I also wash 7-10 days. Your locs look great!

Thank you!! I think it was just the updo that had my hair flaking like that…with the sore scalp. But I don’t have problems on the regular with oiling my hair. I don’t do it everyday either so maybe that helped!

Thanks for sharing. I was wondering if it’s okay to style starter locs… you’re one of the few I’ve seen with them styled from the gate. Is the top section that you style growing and budding at the same rate and thickness of the back?

Most certainly, My natural curl pattern is tighter/ thicker in the back than the front. My front curl pattern is looser. So the budding/ locking really started in the middle of my head then back and now front. My front is definitely thinner/ slower to locking. I hope this helps!
