One of the rare non-jibber-jabber tutorial about this bridge between Metatrader/MQL and Python. Congratulations! A clear video straight to the point! Many thanks!!!
Thank you for your kind comments and feedback @wirdil - much appreciated :) We'll review the documentation for dwx-zeromq-connector on GitHub and modify accordingly - many thanks for raising this!
Could this work on Linux VPS with wine (perhaps PlayOnLinux) instead of a Windows machine? Linux VPS are significantly cheaper than Windows VPS. Can we set things up for Python to communicate with MT4/5 using ZeroMQ?
Sorry, this may sound stupid but i'm a newbie. Where do you put the "dwx zero mq connector.py" after downloading? I'm having some issues as the installation instruction on the last part is not clear. And after i installed the EA, there's no input tab to customise the values. Is it related to the python as i do not know where to install it?
Thank you for your query @Cry - much appreciated :) It isn't mandatory to have a Darwinex account to use the dwx-zeromq-connector project, no. However, our objective by releasing the project open-source is to help the wider Quant and Algorithmic Trading communities in bridging technological gaps that otherwise create bottlenecks in their evolution. If you have a decent trading strategy, you can: - list it as an investable asset (DARWIN) at Darwinex, - then legally attract investor capital to it and, - charge 20% performance fees on investor profits on a High-Water Mark basis. At Darwinex, good traders can therefore take both their own and their strategy's investor capital to market, thereby generating a second stream of returns on top of their strategy's returns - something they can't do elsewhere legally. Darwinex is for individuals who treat trading like a business, and want to scale it like one. It's one of the reasons why we open-source solutions like the dwx-zeromq-connector project: - Serious traders appreciate our efforts at helping them, identify with our mission, and join Darwinex. - Serious traders know that Darwinex is the only venue where they have a fair chance at leveraging their talent for profit. The fact that Darwinex also happens to provide competitive execution conditions then simply becomes icing on the cake, but isn't the only thing Darwinex is all about. Hope this helps answer your question - we wish you our very best!
