That might be very well true. But the one thing you miss with a mirror is the proactive notification. You would still need to keep an eye on the mirror. But i fully agree. If a radar is too much of an expense, a mirror will also level up your confidence on the road.

A mirror is a great add on for a radar, because it might be useful to be able to check what type of car/truck is behind you. But if I had to choose, I'd choose the radar all the time.

Mirrors are great but only when your looking at them, radar alerts you of approaching vehicles,

@@Miche27 you get used to it, just like in the car. Of course radars are good, nice and I have one, but it's not this huge safety breakthrough the internet makes them out to be. In reality, most of road cyclists are just too stuck up to put a mirror on the handlebar because they're afraid it's dorky.

@@GG-si7fw you do it from their phone app. I used my google drive or dropbox to get the gpx file onto my phone. I dont fully understand what you mean with the history between bikes. I have my history on strava and only upload new things from the computer. Is that what you ment?

@@klein-concept I have a road bike and a single speed commuter bike. Can I use the same GPS computer on both with individual settings or is it tailored for one bike use only.

I dont have a garmin but it also works with my Wahoo. As its a generic protocol it should work on any bike computer.

I plan to order a second frame from Waltly in the near future and build the lightest possible bike until the money runs out. Are you upset by the weight of your new frame?

@@hensemzp1 haha man i m as sociable as it gets 😂😂 I m not really upset as it turned out fine but was often looking at the 1kg litespeed bikes and hoped that it would be at least a little lighter. But being out on the road with it today put all this aside as it rides like a dream.

Good question. Didnt test it as i m not using Strava Segments really but after a quick google it seems that you re right.

I made that observation as well before but had it out on two rides after the latest firmware update and it felt in line with my garmin. You still see issues after the update?

@@klein-concept I did a firmware update a while back. I've had the Magene for about 6 months now. I'll check tonight if there's a new firmware update or if I already have it. The poor engineering of this radar has put me off all Magene products to be honest. I remember when I did the last update via the app it was all in CHINESE 🤨

@@JFomo i think it should have been an update from a couple weeks ago. Also didnt have Chinese installations 😂😂. But i m also on the Android version.

I have used one for a year and I find it reports everything. If the car travels the same speed as you it wont report it, but that goes for Garmin Varia too. It's a simple radar. Its not a magical device.

@@Norwegianflightsimulatorpilot When I ride with my Garmin buddies they pick up cars way earlier before the Magene does anything which by that point I can already hear the car coming. One time i counted 6 cars passing me and the Magene did absolutely nothing. It works whenever it wants to work.

Absolutely right. No coincidence at all. As i mentioned at the start of the video Magene send these over for me to have a look at.

Strongly depends on personal preference. But especially the radar was a massive game changer for me personally.

@@klein-concept Yes of course but until the Garmin radar thing appeared it was never an issue. Never in my long life have I kept looking behind to see what was behind me. The heat rate monitor ? why? Who would need it? Have you ever known anyone who rides that way? The third gadget would be of interest but I have a Garmin Edge which was cheap

Have the L508. Bike radar is a game changer. In a year I never had it report ghost traffic. I would never leave without it now. I’m also considering getting the Magene heart monitor as my wahoo monitor doesn’t have the heart rate limit functionality. It’s would be nice for zone 2 workouts.

@@jeremynorthin the States, on the road, I didn’t have a problem cos I can turn my head left. Here in malaysia, we drive on the other side of the road and I have to turn my head right, and I don’t have the full range cos of a neck impingement, so the radar helps a ton

I think the description had it on the underarm but let me give this a try on the biceps. I think on the biceps tho you might run into the issue of fit as the biceps expands and compresses quite a bit during a ride. Not that much of a problem for me tho 😂😂

@@klein-concept Don't know. My friend used to had one. He then switched to igpsport bsc300 because of the poor navigation. He said it still indicated as wrong even when riding on the right way
