Our neighbors lost their house in Katrina, and moved here to San Antonio, along with thousands and thousands of other families who were made homeless by that awful storm. Most of them couldn't, or wouldn't talk about the things they had seen, they were like shell shocked war survivors... Even though they missed their home, a lot just couldn't go back to those memories...

christine paris yes, it was awful. I’m from south Louisiana, 2 hrs away from N.O. The storm was terrible, but the people were the worst. So sad some people attack each other instead of helping during a disaster. Lots of evacuees came to my city too and a few trashed the shelter, a nice athletic/concert arena. Purposefully breaking the toilets by flushing bricks, literally BRICKS down the drains. No idea Why? Why destroy your shelter? Where did they get bricks in the first place? There were some positives too. Another shelter was set up for the animals - pets and N.O. carriage & police horses. The pet owners faithfully came from the human shelter to walk & feed their pets many times daily. There were volunteers tending to the horses too. The locals donated lots of supplies to both shelters. Man, hard to believe it was almost 15 yrs ago.

Just think of how it was for us Austrians to live through the first half of the 20th century! Of all my relatives only one was able to talk about the war and my other grandfather was a final stage alcoholic when I met him. Needless to say that they created dysfunctional families and that passed it on creating the dysfunctional family I grew up in...

@@edi9892 I cannot imagine what your family went through! Austria, particularly, from the histories I've read about it, had a very complex relationship with the rest of Europe. So many family ties, people on both sides during the war, anguish and anger that went on after the war, it must have been unbearable for so many Austrians... I read a book called "The Journey", written by former countess of Czechoslovakia, Cecilia Sternberg, a memoir of their escape to America during the war and their eventual lives as boarding house managers in Jamaica. She and her husband had friends and relations in every country in Europe, the Sternbergs had been knights back to the 1100s...their family ties were extremely complex. It was no surprise that they were extremely heavy drinkers all their lives after all they survived....

Southern Illinois is famous for Bigfoot sightings. I grew up around Peoria and heard of several sightings around Carbondale and the Rend Lake area.

@@johnwrhel9190 my Grandparents used to live in Cave in Rock Illinois before they moved across the river to Kentucky. I live in the Southwestern Illinois area myself, arround Alton. This area is a hotbed for Ghosts and Spiritual Activity. Though we have our Cryptid sightings as well. A friend of mine actually Got a picture of a Skinwalker in the park across town one night.

Things the 1st story mentioned about the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, was even more horrific than the storm itself. To see the true face of humanity without the law to keep it under controle. The evil within those perpetrators is what brings disaster upon every one, in the first place. So even the good suffer because of it.

I want to tell PlagueBacon, I am so sorry you had to experience that horror in the Super Dome. I had to stay during and after Hurricane Katrina because of my job, and I know the horrific things that went on in the Dome, too. I wasn't there. I was just outside Orleans parish. But some of our people were in the Dome.

Yes a rake it is . And I will say ..most of your windigo stories sounds like rakes as well. Windigo = deer skull and antlers.. Rake = pale yellow to white or grey tight skin . No fur. Very skinny long fingers or claws ( hence the rake name). It tends to crawl on all fours and it screeches ( sounds like cross between dog and pig). Usually all dead creatures that are mutilated with parts all over has been done by rake .they enjoy it. As well as do it to mark territory . Rakes are by far one of the most dangerous creatures to man. ( especially because people of authority choose to say " bear or mountain lion attack). Dont be ignorant people.Im betting half these stories aren't getting back to be written. Be careful out there

thankfully u have returned to the high-quality narrations, that I have been enjoying for a long time now !!! I was getting repeatedly disappointed from mid-Dec until maybe 5 uploads back so I am so very pleased that ur back with the all-round high-quality uploads !!! at one point I seriously considered un subbing which to b honest if it had been any other channel I would of but you deserved a chance! thanks to u and ur lady for the hard work and I hope u are having a drier time than we are in the UK, luckily I live on a small hill above Worcester so am safe from my home being flooded but within a short walk it is devastation for as far as the eye can see! the racecourse which is a very old track is by the river and the only things racing are various fish some of which r huge washed out of their holes by the torrential rain!

In the first story where the guy is talking about the rake and seeing that sewer video that reminded him of seeing something similar... well I’m not calling the story fake because I don’t have enough evidence of anything like that but the sewer video is actually debunked and it was fake it was an April Fools joke by a sewer company about something like “this is what happens when you flush things you aren’t supposed to in the toilet” but it does look pretty interesting
