Have always always thought it was a big mistake TV3 dropped Phillip Sherry after the channel went into receivership in 1990 because he is still one of the two best news readers NZ has ever had. Dougal Stevenson was the other! Forget about the Richard & Judy show!
What? Belinda ruled, the playing dumb thing with a wink to camera 2 was the whole point. If you didn't get that then...well you just didn't get it. She made nightline what it was, and what it has never measured up to since.
And now we have the Newshub trash. I am not old enough to remember 3 national news but I remember 3 news and absolutely miss that set up, especially the duo of Mike and Hillary followed by Campbell Live. The news and current affairs are just not the same
wow thats so classic. that orchestra theme was brutal but so tacky with the type writer. these were the good days where it had spirit before it was bought out & became just another commercial venture.
