At 53:44 ish- when i was reading about this in my scripture study earlier, i had a similar thought to matt. Now that i have a baby, sometimes i am filled with so much love and joy because of my child. And then sometimes a feeling after will come of deep sadness and anxiety because i want everything good for them and i know that they will be hurt by so many things as they live life. Imagine how Christ and our Heavenly Parents must feel. All this makes me more grateful for Christ and his sacrifice. Without Christ, I don't believe the phrase "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" Is always true. But through Christ any wound can heal and any person can be strengthened, in a way the world can't heal or strengthen. Thank goodness for the hope we have for our children through that.
Dr Townsend gave amazing teaching about the anxiety. He is right. i have been there. When the anxiety came, I tried to do what he said. Thank you so much
Hank’s reference to President Packer’s funeral reminded me of the story that Senator Gordon Smith (R Oregon) told us at a regional conference. He had gone to school early with his 2nd grade son to encourage him to finish an assignment he’d left in school. He sat on a little chair opposite his son, knee-to-knee. Later that afternoon he was called into the Oval Office to have a one-on-one with President Clinton: The Spirit whispered to his heart and mind “This is the second time your’ve sat this way today. Never forget which one is more important.”
