Ur video clip at 6:38, the fishing rod and reel are the same I bought for my beloved wife on her 48th birthday! Brings back a lot of memories! It's been over 3 years that I lost my wife to cancer! I just started going back to fishing the coast again! It's not the same without her next to me! But I'm just closing the chapter of the memories we had together! Thank you'll for a great video!
@@TheWafflesFam Thank you so much! To this day I look at her fishing rod! This means a lot to me! Next time I go to the coast I'll be taking her rod and reel with me! God bless you and your family!
I know 🤣🤣🤣 we thought about cutting some but the thing that’s wild is how many we caught that ONE DAY on the jetty. So we kept it 😅. Some days are just 🔥 🔥 🔥.
Thank you for a really informative video. I'll be in Port A next week to do some fishing. What bait are you using to catch the big reds and black drums? Is it cut crab? And last question, what rig are you using... fish finder, knocker, etc.? Thanks again.
So we typically fish with mullet for the reds on bait, we fish with mullet or menhaden for blacks. Generally we do a 3 oz triangle weight, swivel, about a 18inch liter and a regular hook not a circle.
My Brothers Family and My Family are planning a trip in July. I’m glad I asked RU-vid about Port A fishing spots. Thank You @TheWafflesFam for the helpful information.
Definitely!!! Haha. We took our friends out there and it was devastating because they got a MASSIVE fish hit and lost it because of their line. Only good fish of the trip!!! Sucked!! Ashley was so upset.
So the stringer on fish 1 you put the post side through the gills of the fish, then through the hole, then start stacking them together with putting the post side through the rest of the fishes gills as you catch them. 🙂
just to the gulf side of the ferry. and a convenience store near by . we used to camp there and fish all night before Harvey. Fish populations are insane in Nueces County but a bit afraid of oil pollution in bottom feeding fish. maybe pass on the flounder
Probably a stupid question but can you eat any of those fish you're catching and if so why aren't you? Seems to me if I catch something that big I would be eating it for breakfast lunch and dinner, then feed the rest to my chickens.
So we fish for our channel basically every week. If we kept everything we caught, we would never eat anything but fish. Lol. But to answer your question, oversized black drum, no. Oversized Reds you can take 2 per year with tags. Slots Reds Blacks and Trout, absolutely! You can take those.
The piers are great but the people NEVER give you any privacy… they are always in your business. The park is prob the best out of this… you have elbow room
