I watched the 1971 game from my moms house. I was 19 years old. Hard to believe it was 50 years ago. Nebraska went on to whip Bama big time after they pulled out the "Game of the Century". Almost pulled out this one! I sure miss Turkey dinners & Big 8 Football from the "good ole days"

Despite the mistakes, despite the bs calls by the refs, Nebraska played a good game and hung in there with the #3 ranked team in the nation. Coach Riley has the Sooners firing on all cylinders. Spencer Rattler is a truly great athlete and quarterback. I watched the game of the century 50 years ago and while I’m a lifelong die hard Husker fan, I love Oklahoma. The history and rivalry between these 2 teams is second to none. I hope you guys win a national championship this year. Go Big Red.

I'm so surprised this was that close even with the 2 missed field goals and the extra point that was blocked and brought back for 2 points, and all the bad calls from the refs, this is a win by Nebraska in MY books...

What a game, Oklahoma definitely survived this one. Nebraska’s kicker could have narrowed the game to one point if he didn’t miss those two field goals. Other than that Oklahoma has an outstanding defense and a very talented QB still just seemed like an off game and everyone has those. Definitely excited for Oklahoma’s game next week against a WVU team who also has a nasty defense.

We left at least 9 points on the board because of failed kicks. The 2 pts off of the blocked kick they ran back was yet another special team's mistake. The Blackshirts defense actually played their butts off though so they deserve credit for their hard play. Offensively we look🔥 HOT & COLD 🥶 and lack any consistency in the play calling. We have a solid receiving corps, they really are talented but the throws were all over the place. My only complaint is that they must learn to get open on broken plays. The real question is: Is this an overrated Oklahoma team or did the Huskers just play a better than expected game?

Can we appreciate the fact that 2-1 unranked Nebraska gave #3 Oklahoma a run for their money and definitely could’ve and should’ve won the game

Nebraska played good. I’m glad to see them getting better. I look for OU to continue to get better as the season progresses, like last yr. Rattler is about timing, and that will come with more practice with his receivers. It was Texas turnaround last year. I hope it’s WVU about face this year. This will be their toughest test, and WVU could upset OU, if the offense don’t start clicking a little better. Both our RB’s are avg > 5 yards a carry. There is no better way to get a QB going than to establish the running game, to relieve pressure. I look for LR to start running it down teams throats, and then deadly play action.

I was never a great corner but even i knew if you are in man dont look for the ball watch the recievers eyes stay there and go to breakup when they go to catch so you don't lose a step alot of DBs need to be coached like this

I'm a huge OU fan, but Lincoln Riley has to change something. Rattler has had well over a year now to develop and he's not. I seriously believe all that hype this off-season went to his head again. He's completely unable to read defenses and make changes at the LOS. He should understand the offensive scheme by now and be able to recognize vanilla defenses. Speaking of vanilla though, he looks lost and Lincoln is running a vanilla offensive scheme. On one of those plays, Nebraska was playing a simple drop 2, man under with the Mike spying, and they weren't even disguising it. Rattler immediately threw it into triple coverage over the middle. That's horrendous. After watching his footwork, vision, and awareness, I wouldn't touch him personally. He has moments of brilliance, but usually that's because a WR breaks wide open on a fade or Stoops runs a little hitch in the middle. I was skeptical heading into this season with him and Riley, and after Tulane and this game, I'm even more skeptical. We'll see though. Good job Nebraska. I missed facing y'all ever since you left. I miss Colorado, Missouri, A&M, and Nebraska. Those were the good old days.
