Never had a problem with the top loop, but great idea on heat shrinking the notch 👍

Two quick questions: 1) You sort of glossed over how you make the hanging loop at the top. Would you provide some details, please? 2) One complication with a J-Pole is that you need a place to hang it. I assume you pack a pole for the purpose? I also assume that a carbon fiber pole would not be good as being conductive, it would interfere with the antenna?

Good questions John. I just create a small loop inside the heat shrink and slide it over the top of the Jpole and heat it up. Sometimes the line will pull out and may take a time or two to get it right. Right about needing a pole. I have hung it over a cliff with a hiking pole before; hung it from a f/g pole and hung it from a tree. CF probably would affect your SWR. I don't carry a CF pole so it's not an issue for me. 73
