Love this! Hiring an admin was the best first hire I could've chosen for my business. I love creating, not so much emails so I was always getting back to people days later. Since having my assistant she's been able to close orders faster & follow up with customers that forget to respond etc etc. Plus she makes spreadsheets and keeps my orders super organized so I can always double check I have everything in order weekly.
Just what I needed to hear! I currently just received my EIN and will now hire some help with my business. I’m just nervous when I discuss duties and responsibilities on what actually goes on in a kitchen!
I teach my students the concept of green light, yellow light, red light duties. Green light duties are something EVERYONE can do. This would be dishes, mopping, packaging products, etc). Yellow would be something you would train your employees to do so you can pass that off to them. This could be baking, helping customers, answering emails, etc. And then RED light which would be only YOU can do. Like managing the taxes, payroll, all the paperwork part of running a business.
I feel attacked. But in a good way. I have started to see that I need help. My customers are suffering because I can’t do it all and do it efficiently. 🖤
