As a job applicant, you have a right to know the name of the entity you'd be working for and that entity's business address. If they can't answer one of those two things, walk away.
@dorothybeischer7668 Definitely. Four years ago, I was looking for a job and this old guy conducted exactly that type of interview. He wasn't fooling me and don't let yourself be fooled either. You are entitled to work for a legitimate and real employer.
I’m new to online remote jobs and I’m sure I just got scammed. I thought the whole thing seemed quite sophisticated but when I started digging for info, a lot of red flags just popped up. I’m still looking for something suitable but I don’t want to be scammed again. Thanks for this video.
I'm an indian 🇮🇳 born and living in UK 🇬🇧 and I cannot express enough how much I despise these scumbags. Literally whenever people ask me my nationality I just tell them I'm British because idiots like these give us a horrendous reputation, not to also mention they scam other indians too. It warms my heart to see stuff like this, please *𝐓𝐔𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐉𝐀𝐀* keep up the great work destroying these scammers! 😍
Well needed video. These scammers are on a whole other level. They are relentless! I was just talking to someone this morning about these scammers. I've received so many texts and emails that are scams. Be vigilant out here people! Please be careful.
I got "excited" about the money, and when you get excited, you miss the details. They did a "chat" and apparently were copying all the information from a legitimate website. After considering they offered me a job WITHOUT a video interview, I knew it was a scam and the next day played along and came into the chat at the time they requested. (They too were going to send me a check). I received an email with several typos from the "senior management" and they wanted me to sign and return the acceptance letter. That is when I said "Stacey, Stephen or whatever your name is, you are not getting my signature today. Shame on you!!!" I truly hope these losers reap what they sow and their computers get a virus. It is so low-down and dirty to play these awful games with people who are just looking for a job!
Way to turn it around on them! 👏🏾 It’s crazy that with the amount of time and thought it takes to scam people, they could actually do something legit and make honest money! Glad you didn’t get got, Lynse! 👍🏾
Yup, be careful out there everyone... I just got an email today saying my email information was found on the dark web from my identity protection company that I am with. After I started applying for remote only jobs I started to get a bunch of random texts, calls and emails from scammers.
Another red flag is when they want to do an interview through a messenger app like Signal and not through, say Zoom or Teams. Whenever I get the "interview" email and it says to download Signal, that is an automatic nope for me.
I'm in a predicament wondering if a job is a scam or not and I can't figure it out. Do you know anything about Team. I was told to download the app and do the interview through messaging on the app. I figured team was legit. I didn't get any major spelling issues but they want to hire with no experience saying they will train. By the end they said I was excepted and that I had passed the interview. I asked the next step and they said to give my information. I couldn't give it cause I don't know if it's fake or not. Help!
You're doing an outstanding job, *VortexTrace* ! I'm thrilled that you're out there battling these scoundrels. It's absolutely crucial to protect the elderly and the general public from these deplorable scammers. You truly deserve all the praise and recognition for keeping us safe! Kudos to you, my brother. Your efforts are deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. Keep up the amazing work!!!!
Also a job that says they will send you a check to purchase equipment for the job . I mean seriously do not fall for that crap what company doesn’t provide the equipment in advance.
Exactly! 💀 I'm so glad I didn't apply for Amazon customer service remote job. When I read it, it said that I will be sent a check to purchase the equipment I needed. I immediately knew something was wrong and I'm so glad I did NOT put my address or anything else for that matter. People in this world are weird. 🤦🏽♀️
A chat position for a company asked for the social security and I was like nope, I am out, I already experience a scam and thanks God I could get my money back but it was an awful experience, now I am very careful.
Oh yes! Scammers know everyone is looking for chat/data entry, so a lot of those are scams. There are actually not a ton of those jobs, so that's why I made a video about the real ones! Glad you got your money back!!
I got a job offer from an outlook email. They gave me an assessment date to see if I'm a good fit but never gave me a formal interview then they wanted me to give my contact info to send me a check for $4150. They said it was so that I could buy the required equipment and materials and part of it is supposed to be my first weeks pay. I'm so glad I saw this video bc it stopped me from responding to that last email from that person.
Yes, it happened to me too. The thing about it they had asked in the questionnaire if I had the things they they wanted to send me a check to purchase, items which I already stated I have.
Exactly. I've been looking for a work from home job for the longest. So I can make money and move far away from my narcissistic/toxic family members. I'm tired of the abuse! 🤦🏽♀️😡💔😥
Thank you Delilah for being real and actually trying to help, I work full time at a hotel now but I am currently looking to work remotely and it's nice to have someone with actual help tips.
What's crazy is I've called the companies they're pretending to be from the website on Google, and they don't even reply. If someone told me scammers were pretending to be my company, I'd be all over that!
Excellent video! I wish I had this information a few years ago. I had to figure this out on my own. Thankful, it didn't smell right. Please repost this video every few months. It's also worth adding the scam for secret shopper where they send you a check for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollard in a USPS flat rate envelope to deposit to cover expenses and fee for being a secret shopper.
Thank you! I'm glad you found this info helpful! I've heard too many BAD stories about cashing a check for a scam company! I tell everyone who asks, do NOT cash a check!
@@DelilahBell Someone is trying to scam your subscribers. They created an account on Telegram-Please let your subscribers know this is fake and probably a scam. I got this same message from another creator that warned of the scam
Additional scam red flag are any of the below phrases: Unlimited earning potential Network marketing Own your own business Additionally, another red flag is when the company is very dodgy about saying the company name. They avoid answering the question when directly asked.
Another annoying thing I've noticed, sometimes Staffing agencies write job postings that look really lazy or scammy. The names of these legit companies sound fake sometimes, too. All this caution slows down my job search so so much!

Thank you Delilah these are great tips especially about the part about putting the email address into the search bar to find the company! Very smart. If it sounds too good to be true often it is, and yes I have caught a lot of scams from bad grammar. A lot of scams are from People who speak English as a second language (no offense intended) and are coming from different regions and countries.
*VortexTrace* , your efforts in fighting these scammers are truly commendable! We must do everything we can to shield the elderly and the public from these deceitful individuals. You're a true hero!!!..
The company email tip was really good. I've caught a few scammer off the fact that they wouldn't give me a company email. They always tried diverting me to links for me to give them my info first.
Yes I’m so skeptical when applying for jobs. Because the info you have to give to employers is all the info a scammer needs. 1. SS# 2. Bank info for direct deposit 3. Name 4. Address 5. etc
I just had the same situation. Unfortunately, I gave them my name, and address but not the SS# or bank info. Is there any possible way they can use that to do anything bad in my name?
Thank you so much I got an email stating that they like my resume and am offer a job for $35 for a customer service position. And the interview is only through text message.
I remember once being offered an editor position. I noticed alot of type-o's and I pointed it out to the "recruiter." They said "thats why we need an editor." 😕
Thank you for this. Recently, I applied for a remote job, and I was anxious wondering if I was dealing with a real company. The quick check of the after the "@" information, confirmed I was dealing with the real thing. Ufff, relieved 😅
This company had emailed me a check n told me I must deposit it n use the Money to order what they want for me to work. I told them why can't they just order the equipment themselves. They said they wanted to build trust with me. Yeh right. Smh
That happened yesterday with me they interview me through Microsoft team. Never tested my skills or ask about them. Said I was hire. Then immediately ask me the name of my bank and address. Then they said they were going to send me a check to deposit into my bank because they wanted me to buy the equipment I needed for the job . I told them I was confused but then told them no I'm sorry I'm too honest I don't want this job . They just said okay.. They offer 30hr and I dont hardly have skills to convince anyone at moment .. And they told me they text their employees to see if they are honest. This happened in Microsoft team. No live interview..
Thank you Delilah you’re awesome! So helpful in everything you do for all of us! Your honesty is so appreciated. I purchased your course, thanks for all your hard work 👍😊
I may be currently falling victim of such a scam and man it is really elaborate and so far theres alot of negative flags but also I've not given them any serious details like SSN yet.. I did just call their actual phone number to ask HR about the authenticity of the job offer
Thank you!!! I just got off phone with a scam company-alledged name of HR "Nicole Sway". Offering repackaging reshipping job for 600 weekly plus bonus of $40 per box shipped on time. Plus a hundred dollar bonus if I complete my paperwork within 3 hours----tried researching and couldn't find any other info. I have been applying for a lot of jobs so had to do my research on that offer. You video hits the nail on the head. Thank you. (Side note)-(I didn't complete any paperwork).
I almost got scammed into "registering" for the companies "partners" by signing up for all of their emails. Yeah, no. That's an email marketing scam! No thank you!
The problem with today is anyone can buy a domain and set up a fake landing page and collect info / scam from there. The email sender can easily create a legit email that's connected to an actual company domain.
What I noticed they always ask you to just chat and send msgs they do not want to talk and they ask you to download an application I forgot the name of it but it's not zoom or a legit app. Be careful out there .
Thank you for Sharing. Registered Healthcare company recruiting hit me up. It sounded legit then Sarah Kevins got to pressing me about last four digits of Social..
I had two different companies do interview over chat, and they were going to send me a check to buy equipment. I got out before I gave them any money. The email from HR was misspelled!
Right on time! I literally just received a text message inviting me to schedule an interview via Telegram. This person gave me their name and age(!) but no organization details only a rather generic job title. When asked for more company details...no response. #blocked
Yesterday I was told at an interview that I had to pay for work related stuff called the uniform so I ran the other way. I am tired of being scammed by people. He was a white man at a Plucker's.
Some of these job post are getting good! My red flag doesn’t go off until I get the response email. I have three right now I’m sure are scams! It’s so frustrating!
I'm so glad I didn't apply for Amazon customer service remote job. When I read it, it said that I will be sent a check to purchase the equipment I needed. I immediately knew something was wrong and I'm so glad I did NOT put my address or anything else for that matter. People in this world are evil. 🤦🏽♀️
I was just contacted by a scam company today. It was pretty obvious that they were a scam because of several different things, but they really tried to get me.
Just got scammed by someone pretending to be hiring a personal assistant . Gave them my info but no numbers. No bank info. Just the bank name. I hope i didnt give too much info to get my bank hacked. I called the real company the sarver group and they told me they had been hacked. I gave them my name address and phone number. And name of my bank. But they didnt ask for my bank account number or social. I wonder what there plan is to do with that info.
Wow! Sorry to hear you ran into a scammer. Doesn’t sound like they got away with too much. But if ever in doubt, you can always contact your bank and they can help you keep your account safe. & maybe they were working their way to getting more important info.. I’m not sure though!👍🏾
Only email or text too, no phone calls so you can't record their voice. No legit job has not called me at least once. Always ask for a phone call. Pet scams are the same way.
What if they don't ask for any information about me. It's a job that posts ratings to boost visibility on internet. And they pay with crypto. Is that a thing? This is very new to me.
The offer I got I did not know until I had to cashout I never knew anything and still don't know enough about cryptocurrency, but I had to open an account in order to cashout my money then they said I would have to top up the amount of money I made with $30.00 and I did get my $100.00 reimbursed plus what I made that day plus the daily salary, I was surprised but the sus part is they asked first if I had cashapp as form of payment I'm expecting to only use cashapp lol but had to open an account for BTC, I earned a lot job very simple I was told the more I pay to reset the more commission I get for doing each job, once I finish the job I get that money I put down reimbursed plus what I made that day plus daily salary could be for example it's day three you get paid $100.00 as an example.
I applied for a job once and they started texting me...I thought it was iffy so I never replied back. I never heard of a job contacting you through text.
I've had a few people messages me directly saying that I need to be interviewed for the job but the interview Is conducted through chat and usually leads to them asking for my SSN or bank numbers. Has anyone actually done a chat interview and it was legit?
Hi Emily! Chat/text only interviews are not legit. Companies will, however, contact you via text to schedule your interview, but you will always do a video interview. Interviews are typically conducted on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. 👍🏾
What about companies who ask you to send money in order to receive something? I had two different companies scam me, one asked me to send $200 for shipping and the interview was through telegram and the other was also through telegram they were asking some odd questions and in fact both were saying the same messages literally identical word for word. 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah I just had one a little while ago wanting to send me a check to deposit and then I was supposed to purchase a new Apple laptop, printer etc. I said no if you want me to work you will send me the equipment and it was on telegram. They disappeared shortly after that.

I've seen a lot advertisements of people offering job online about promoting prductos online about traffic stuff and they say yo don't to work to hard spend more time with your familiy even they show videos how much other people have made looks too good to be true
Thanks so much Very informative. When Indian recruiters keep calling me I get nervous especially in American Job Medical markets. (Nothing about Indians I'm a minority myself but I don't understand why companies keep outsourcing this process)
How many has fallen victim of Sears reviewing products and then you pay to clear them later they give you a large sum to clear. Please share how you dealt with these scammers
Theres one for 50/hr but they dont pay by the hour they pay by the call so youd have to make 10 successful calls to get 10 and hr and you have to COMPLETE the call 🙄
I had a reply that I applied for a job and they didn't have a direct company email instead they used like a personal email. Then I was asked to take a screen test question and I answered the questions. Next day they sent me an offer and said they will ship me equipment. Then I called the company and said this HR person doesn't work here and found out that someone was pretending to be them with fake job postings. Now should I reply back saying I decline the offer or just ignore them from here?
