Good call on the Cellini, I’ve been hankering for a much thinner model, so yes a new movement would be needed, with the display back, but this would probably mean less water resistance and hopefully changing it into a proper dress watch…👌
Austin, I think you are spot on. It must be at thorn for Rolex to see Patek and AP selling high end pieces and miss out (sports m only for Rolex). Could be 2029 when they have the new factory open to launch big with new Cellini line …… open case back, nice movements etc. …. We will see …..
New colors on the bezels will be about it. Maybe they will go crazy and add or subtract a millimeter here and there and blow some minds and swap bracelets with straps.
The main question… the only question that matters in any longer term suite of predictions is… “Do they fit with Rolex’s long term strategy”? Yes /no. The next hugh question is the 3 new factories [space]. Are they for Rolex or Tudor? My guess is Tudor, as that fits the long term strategy ie 10-20 years (we’re 8 years into it now). More Tudor, and but same but “higher end” Rolex.
