Suigintou is just really lonely and she is afraid to trust anyone. Inside she is kinder than anyone, but her role makes me cry. It just explains how mena is life when you are considered to be a fail and nobody wants you, especially the person you love the most. I think she really deserves to be the Alice.
I actually feel damn sorry for her and all the other Rozen Maiden. They're fighting and killing each other to become to perfect girl for some dudebro. I'd walk straight up to Rozen and slap him, for making the dolls fight each other. Like, they are already perfect dude, what's your problem? He probably doesn't even deserve the devotion thy put into the Alice game. I personally don't think Suigintou deserves to become Alice, she deserves way more than that.
I know it's a decade-old comment, but I want to clear something up... Rozen wasn't trying to make a "perfect girl" just for the heck of it, nor was the battle royale as needlessly cruel as it appears. His true goal was to essentially revive/replace his dead daughter, which he believed he could do via the Alice Game. After failing to create the perfect vessel multiple times, he gave each of the "failed" dolls a piece of his soul and contrived the game as a way for them to collect a "whole" soul that would grant them true life/the status of Alice. These soul pieces were held, of course, in the Rosa Mysticas, which was why you had to take a Rosa Mystica and absorb a doll's soul to continue in the game. HOWEVER, he recognized (too late) that the game wasn't going to work - I can't remember why exactly, but he concluded that a killing game was antithetical to the creation of Alice, presumably because nothing could truly bring his daughter back, and although the dolls weren't technically people they WERE alive in their own right already. He couldn't stop the game, as he had already split and distributed his soul among the dolls, and only existed as a sort of ghost. But the dolls really weren't interested in the game for the most part anyways; they mostly tried to avoid it as we see with pretty much all of the dolls save Suiginto, and even she sort of loses interest after the timeline split. Suiginto's story is also MUCH different in the anime than the manga, with her real motivation not having to do with being "broken" or "unfinished" (she wasn't) but instead stemming from a sort of madness she felt at watching so many more dolls have to be made after her - essentially, the older you are as a doll, the more of a failure you were, so she was the ultimate failed Alice. I think this misunderstanding was played up by the anime because the reveal about seniority/the garden/etc. wasn't in the manga yet, so the writers genuinely didn't know Suiginto wasn't referring to being an unfinished piece but instead to the fact that she was, out of her sisters, the furthest one from being Alice, the most dissatisfactory of the sisters. Additional spoilers, for any who want to try and read the manga - I will warn you when I tried to read it significant portions were poorly translated, including and especially the last few chapters, of which all but the final I could only find in French... Shinku does, as you would expect, become Alice. In order to put a true end to the Alice Game, Shinku absorbs the soul pieces of the other dolls, transforms into Alice, and uses her power to split her soul and redistribute the pieces back to the defeated dolls, reviving everyone and restoring their Rosa Mysticas. Similarly to Rozen, this process results in Shinku "dying" as she loses her own unique piece of her soul, however she is still "alive" just unable to interact with the material world. So, in the end Suiginto essentially gets to be happy, and like her sisters is freed of the obligation of the Alice Game.
wait how is shinku alive but unable to interact with the material world? what does that mean? also thank you for the details, I never actually knew how it ended@@rosen_venus
@35 Similar to Rozen himself, her soul was sort of left in limbo, or more like her life force was removed from her physical body (the doll). She's implied to be somewhat conscious, sort of like how the dolls can't move until they're wound up but are still aware of what's happening around them while they're "asleep." However, until a soul is returned to her body, she can't ever be wound up again, so she's stuck in this semi-conscious state permanently. The manga leaves off with Jun making it his mission to figure out how to obtain/create a new soul to give life back to Shinku's body (he has the same magic abilities as Rozen did that allowed him to put souls into dolls, not sure how much this comes up in the anime). Meanwhile, Shinku gives a little speech about how she is happily slumbering, while stating she is both Alice and Jun's loving doll. So, a sort of bittersweet ending, but Shinku seems at peace even if Jun never is able to find her a new soul to wake her back up with.
Suigintou was born from the ashes, but she is the most beautiful Rozen Maiden and I truly love her. Sad thing is, if she was a real girl and not a doll, Suigintou would have pretty severe mental illnesses. It's not surprising, after everything she goes through to simply declare her love for Rozen.
Suigintou is actually the doll that deserved more attention from Rozen, because she was treated as junk before she was completed. AND shinku just took her in out of pity. getting Rozen to complete her would be her greatest wish
Even though Shinku is favoured as the strongest, only Suigintou can, in fact, defeat her, considering that Suigintou is stronger and as favoured. She has been revived 3 times, can move without a Rosa Mystica and as depicted as the picture of Alice, she has wings. Suigintou can stoop to unscrupulous methods, but it is all for Rozen. She fights only for him. That kind of love for him allows her to live and possibly become Alice.
@Namiikio Wow, I like your vids. I mean this sounds stupid but I have the CD of all their opening and I don't even bother to remember their titles. lol Anyway keep up the good work. I subscribed :D
Lyrics: I, who am as beautiful as a leopard, wears a coat of darkness. Even if I trample the lilies in the valley, I do it all to get to you. The sweetness of the fruit pulp that I bite my fangs into, is like a false dream come to fruition. Lets get together. Am I fleeing form you? Am I pursuing you? Until I don't know anymore. Look at me, even more intensely. Drown and confuse your self into a sweet hell. Claws with a magical touch. Corroding bones... Rest In Reply
Every time I listen to any of the OP's or ED's of this anime, I feel so nostalgic that I have to control myself not to re-watch the series for the 400th time.
no...this was a Tv special put out a year after Traumend and just to clarify Overture takes place between episodes 6 and 7 of Traumend tho the flashback takes you back to before the series started
It’s a crying shame that the 2004-06 Studio NOMAD “Rozen Maiden” animes seem to be “slipping out of time” - they’re pretty much unavailable (legitimately) in the UK, either new on disc or on streaming, and I think they deserve much more recognition. (How about a 20th Anniversary Blu-ray of Season 1?) Don’t get me started on the practical assassination-job on the series that was Studio DEEN’s 2013 “effort”… I said I’d never forgive DEEN for that, but then they went on to produce “KonoSuba” 😂
Yes, and Shinku wasnt really a saint.. she was too obsessed to become alice that she did not know the value of frienship, her ideas were just to kill her sisters to become alice...
Let their scraping sound echo. Is this love? is this Hatred? Is an answer necessary? Ahh.,The heart you caught, will come back to life in your ice cold hands.
@sakuramaidenluver I'm Japanese and I live here in Japan. lol So I bought all their opening thheme CDs. lol But I think you can order online if you really want those. Goodluck :D
@AnimexUploaderx It's about seven dolls which want to become Alice. Alice is the absolute perfection. But to become her, the dolls have to fight against the others. Only the winner is able to become alice.
