I heard my son talking to his friend about sneaking out one night and I was waiting for him in the dark below his bedroom window. I reached up to assist him down and he screamed climbing back up into his room faster than anything I’ve ever seen. To this day he still has no idea that it was me. He told his older sister about what happened the next day and she told my wife and I just laughed but I never said anything to them. He thought it was some kind of creature lol.

I love Mr. Nightmare's videos because he doesn't overdo it with his reading. Like some other RU-vid channels who put too much emotion into it. It gets ridiculous when the other storytellers start reading faster & breathing harder, trying to mimic being fearful. 😂 I like the calmness of Mr. Nightmare because I can actually focus! He'll always be the best imo.

This is like the third time I've heard someone in a Mr. Nightmare story say that "I covered my mouth so my breathing wouldn't be so loud," and every time I wonder how people don't realize that breathing heavily through your nose is louder, especially if you're out of breath.

All of these stories be like “I did something stupid, there were consequences”

Plot Twist: The guy in the first story actually was trying to teach them a lesson for being out late, and "saved" them from a worse fate by acting really creepy.

Story 1: I can’t say I’m surprised considering the fact that it’s Florida.

When the kid said that he was squeezing through the hole to get out he feared the lady would grab his legs and pull him back inside just gave me goosebumps.

#3 gave me chills because I was dumb enough to do this with a bunch of friends in an old psychiatric hospital in my hometown, and I still have the occasional nightmare about the stuff that scared the crap outta us in there.

I live in a crackhead town and I've never snuck out (I'm lazy and most of my friends are online. The ones who aren't are the "good kids"). My sister has though, I heard her one night. She was leaving through my window because it was the only window with a broken screen. I was awake and just laid in my bed and listened to her leave. Once she did and closed my window, I looked outside and watched her disappear into the nearby forest/park area that was right next to our house. I shrugged since this wasn't the first time she had done this. I went back to my bed and laid down to go to sleep. About maybe 2 hours later, I woke up and had this weird feeling that something was wrong. I got up and looked out my window to see my sister's friends bringing her back to the house. She was passed out. At first I didn't think much of it, until they got closer and a dim street light showed a huge cut down my sister's face that was still bleeding. Her friends were also covered in scratches and cuts, but not like the one on ny sister. They knock on our door and woke my parents. I went back to my bed and listened. They were pissed, but my dad seemed really worried. As I listened I fell asleep and the next morning I learned what happened. My sister and her friends were messing around this dude at the park (they were high and drunk I think) when he pulled out this knife and slashed it around. Cut my sister bad. She needed 6 stitches. Yeah, I never wanna sneak out ever.

The scariest thing that ever happened to me while sneaking out was accidentally stumbling upon a grazing herd (idk what a group of pigs is called) of boars and having to back away slowly in complete darkness with all those grunting noises. I didn’t realize what it was until I was close enough to hear them trampling around right beside me, only separated by a falling apart barbed wire fence. A single grown wild boar is dangerous, a whole group is just asking to be torn to shreds man. Luckily I didn’t have a flashlight on or anything, so all of my limbs are intact.

And this is why I never leave my house at night. Or at all, really.

I snuck out one night when I was 14 but I didn't get very far, I got chased up my driveway by a bear, luckily for me I wasn't far from the window I climbed out of, I climbed right back through it, shut it, and locked it. That was 25 years ago and I was much quicker on my feet back then, if that happened now, I don't think I would make it to that window in time

I’m 40 now and I still hang out with all my childhood friends (rip to some) the rush of sneaking out can’t be matched. Especially when you met up with a group of rebel girls down to do the same. We share those memories often. More than the bars and the club memories that came later

I'm gonna be honest, I was expecting story 1 to have the alligator attack or chase the 2 protagonists instead of a random dude

I was walking home at night this one time when I was 15 and this car pulled up beside me and a man rolled down the window asking if I wanted a ride to wherever it was I was going and how old I was.. so I told the man. "No, thanks. I dont need a ride. I'm 15." And the guy said that I was too young and he drove away... couple minutes later, he came back asking if I was sure if I didnt want a ride. I declined again, and started to run away when it looked like he was gonna get out. I was lucky enough to catch a bus just as it arrived at the bus stop...

Notice how 99.9% of the time the scary part or antagonist is always human.

I lived in an apartment complex when I first moved to Florida at 15. I started hanging out with kids that I shouldn’t have been hanging out with, and I started sneaking out as a result. I would sneak out and longboard most times, but not normally by myself. One night my friend wasn’t able to longboard with me, so I went by myself. It was probably my second loop around the complex, and I’m standing there taking a break when something catches my eye; I see a shadow in one of the hallways. I watch the shadow hoping it’s just someone going into their apartment and not security, but instead of seeing a security guard or just another tenant, I watched that shadow walk out of the hallway and disappear into thin air. I stood there confused as hell, but then I realized what I had just seen. Those apartments were crazy as hell. Don’t even get me started on the things that happened in/to my bedroom when I lived there 🤕

Sneaking out was fun in the 90s. In the 2020s, sneaking out isn't for the faint of heart.

Imagine if the woman in the third story was a victim of some extreme case. Like a kidnapping. And the smile wasn’t wicked. Instead it was of relief. Someone had finally found her, teens who were all but looking for a night of adventure. All that time of trying to escape her captor, there was help. But her expression had been interpreted as something nefarious and unholy by naive children. That hope the woman held; extinguished by a cry of fear. Her comfort for freedom. Gone. Watching as her only means of escape sashayed out of reach. Listening to those echoing vocalizations, lowering in volume the further they got away. She’d remain a nameless figure of something wretched in the back of someone’s thoughts. Seen as a monstrous creature for a tale. No one would ever know that she yearned to be reunited back with her family. That once upon a time, she had a life. Normal and fleeting with innocence. No. The woman would be abandoned. Left alone in a room with no hope. Another victim for the person who abducted her. Her story would never be heard, except for in the small instance of entertainment for millions. A fictitious story, where she was a villain in a nightmare.

My horror story would be to face the wild animals in the woods surrounding my house 💀😭
