thank you i have a major baseball player and a jr,softball player..I am able to work with my kids in between practices because your vids are short simple easy for me to undersatnd and exacute with them..and they seem to think i know what im doing...Thank you!!
Ultimate Baseball Training You are probably trying to reach a larger audience but I’m specifically interested in drills and techniques for younger kids in the nine and 10-year-old range. Thank you!
I'm a newer little league 9-10 coach my team from last year has moved up and I have a new team all kids are new players what should I focus on offense or defense
Re. (1500068003191012651011460). What's Up? I liked this video and it made my infield defense a bit better than the lasttime I played this or tried out for this position. Thanks man keep up the good work. Sincerely yours, Sir Kareem Mitchell Chicago, Illinois
Hi Coach, I have a quick question, what is the footwork for fielding a groundball for lefty??? Is it left, right then left right and throw. Tell me if it is the same as righty or different.
I'm going to use these great ideas and adapt for a year old. Should keep him busy and engaged for a good 20 minutes. Appreciate your work Coach Justin.
Really helping me out as a little league coach! Thanks! Do you have any videos about how to help youth players that are afraid of getting hit by the pitch?
I'm glad to hear that! You're welcome! I don't think I have any specific videos on getting hit by a pitch properly or getting over that fear... but I will make a dedicated video soon! I think the biggest thing is you need to get the players to face their fears. You become less afraid of getting hit once you understand that it's part of the game and you understand how to properly roll with the pitch and wear it. I would buy some softer balls (like tennis balls or foam balls) and throw them BP. Mix in strikes (where they are taking regular swings) and then occasionally throw the softer balls at them. If it's a strike, they should crush it. If it's coming at them, they should recognize it and turn their front shoulder inward towards the catcher. Make sure they bring their bat down as well.
Thanks! The proper way to turn away, protect yourself, drop the bat lower, etc. would be helpful. I saw one site recommended Easton 9 in. SoftStitch White IncrediBalls to mix in with your BP. So they look like baseballs. I will try this and wait to see your next videos. They have really helped me create effective practices out. Can't thank you enough! I didn't grow up playing much baseball so this has been huge. I earned Coach of the Month in fall ball, and I am getting ready for Spring ball.
That's the only way to get them "comfortable" with the chance of getting hit, getting hit!! Awesome advice. I have been working with my son since day one and when I was pitching he would stand in the box, hover the plate and turn on every inside pitch I gave him and crush it down the line. It was awesome, then he joined a youth city league and started seeing more wild pitches than good and turned into a "gunshy" or scared batter. Not awesome. Teach that shoulder towards the catcher move coach was describing and hit em with some pitches and he/she will get over the fear.
Anything really. just one full video of high school baseball and what to expect, what not to do and how to prepare.I really rely on you. Tip of the hat
3 great simple drills; I have been teaching baseball for over 30 years to t-ballers (5U) , Pee Week ((7U) - pitching machine; Midgets (8) - begin pitching. I would appreciate similar drills of those age groups.
I know this is an old vid but I got a group of 9-10 year olds and just had to say this was a HIT! Making it fun while reinforcing the basics is awesome!
Little league parents need to understand that this is a game and it's about having fun. I'm a little league coach and I had to break up a fight amongst two parents this year. pretty awful.
TheTerminator1919 I knowwww same with football with the coaches pushing out their chest and giving kids practice 5 days a week plus a game that lasts 3 hours and my little brother has a little league game and the coach was yelling at the damn 7 year olds!
