The million ingredient version is definitely better in my opinion, theres also the Raffles version that uses Benedictine and brandy which is also good! I had chosen this one just for the 4-ingredient limit, but the more modern ones are more awesome. 😄
Cherry Heering is one of my favorite liqueurs, so it collects very little dust. All delicious cocktails. Also, the editing on this is fantastic!!! LOST! Now I want to relive the show all over again. Cheers!!!

Cherry Heering has been a constant in my cupboard since I was a kid. It's a family tradition to sip some during the holidays. Using it in cocktails is what is new to me.

I started building a bar, but really just built shelfs so far and then Halloween madness took over... I was grabbing a bottle a week or so ago and saw the Cherry Heering. Along with Benedictine, I was thinking I haven't used it recently... Now your video shows me that forgetting about it is a "thing"... I was initially interested only in the Remember the Maine, but the Singapore sling version sold me, since I haven't had that version...
For sure! Cherry Heering is the use-once-a-year bottle for most people. I dig using it in Blood & Sand mostly. I'd say St. Germain is another one that gets used once a year. D.O.M. Benedictine I actually use much more these days in both simple and complex cocktails, makes for a great herbal kick! I oughta do a vid on Dom sometime soon!

So why is every other liqueur described by Brand and then type but this is opposite? Cointreau: Orange, Chambord: Black Raspberry, Du Bouchett: Creme de Menthe... but Heering Cherry Any ideas?
You bring up a good point! I had to look into it a bit, and all I can say is: I think it's just a byproduct of the habit of many people calling it Cherry Heering, when really, it's just "Heering", which is the brand.. so I suppose Heering is just like every other Liqueur where if we all called it by the proper name we'd just say "1 oz of Heering" instead of "cherry heering", esp because there are many other Cherry Liqueur brands like Luxardo, or Kijafa, but heering is just the most popular one. I guess it's like saying a photocopy is a Xerox, just a habit
