I just started to use adobe Animate 2 days ago . I wanted to learn about animation and drawing for so many years . I just turned 59 and now have time so sit down and do things . You may also you lasso tool to add shading and colors. Although it is not as flexible as methods mentioned in the video. For a fast moving object or something that will appear for very short time on screen - lasso tool should be fine.

In 2nd technique. creating a new layer does not give me the -color effects, blend panels in properties bar. Is the layer to be created in movie clip mode to get access to blend mode techniques??
Thank you for sharing this very useful info. :) is it possible to add shades to the animated rig as well? seems like there is only color effect that we can apply on.
I used the blending mode technique but When I was exporting the animation the Layers effects were gone and I don’t know how to fix this issue as it keeps being normal shading without the transparency effects after exporting from media encoder

when I turn body parts into symbols but want to undo it (not strg + z) how can I cancel a symbol and make the body part a part from the whole body again? thx
At 2:39, I am not able to delete the red guide stroke at all. Scribbling all over the drawing in the red, just makes parts of it disappear. Doesn't work the way you show here for me.
i have a question about the pencil tool technique, every time i try to use the pencil tool in adobe animate instead of drawing what i want it adds anchor points, and ive tried to figure out how to fix that but googling doesnt seem to be any help. i have it set to pen tool and not "add anchor" or anything like that but it still only adds anchors and curves when i try to draw with it. how do i fix this?
The pencil tool is different to the pen tool, make sure you're using the pencil tool. If you don't see it, click the three dots below the toolbar and it'll be in there. You can drag it out to your tool bar.
PLEASE HELP what if you want to shade the whole thing with multiply + lowered opacity, WITHOUT it affecting the background too? im having problems and i need answer asap please

It will only let me delete small segments of the pencil stroke? Takes forever. :( Adobe Animate won't let me delete the entire stroke with one key, anyone else getting this problem?
When I double click on the pencil line, it doesn't do anything. I couldn't select all the pencil line even when I drew in them with pencil. Can anyone please tell me what to do
