I liked both of the Thor coaches because of larger bathroom space I’ve been living in a 1978 Royals International for almost two years now and my bathroom is so small I can barely move around in it to use the bathroom I got my camper off Facebook market place and I was able to get it down to five hundred dollars so I’m can’t really complain about what I was able to get it was a really cheap deal doesn’t have much of a kitchen either I have a mini refrigerator that I put in here an electric single burner cooker I use the broken refrigerator that come with it as extra storage the slide out pantry is really big and holds enough dry foods to last me a couple of months

We have a Winnebago-built twin bed setup on the View/Navion 24V. A year-and-a-half ago we converted it to a permanent 88"x77"-74" king and moved the bedroom drawers to face front and replaced the cushions with two custom RV mattresses. Love it! Our favorite of the RVs in the video is also the Thor 24.1 because it is essentially a mini-Class A with nice large windshield and no over-cab area which are prone to leaks. Thor may not have the Winnebago quality, but it is built on a Ford chassis which in our opinion is better than our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter which has given us all sorts of expensive problems.

My favorites are the twin bed options made by Phoenix Cruiser. I've found the quality in construction of the Phoenix Cruiser is much better then the other Class C twin beds. I have the Phoenix Cruiser 2552 and love it.

Recently saw all 3 of these at a show. The Thor's were a write off if you are a larger person. The showers are unusable and the twin beds too short. Only 74" in length, I'm 75". While the Winnebago is much higher priced, the build quality and usability (bigger shower and 78" bed) for bigger folks works better.

So glad to see more RVs getting rid of the dinette. Hubby and I are considering models (never owned one) and have always thought the dinette was a waste of space. Another advantage of the twin beds is that you have the space in between for getting dressed and accessing the storage areas. I like the Winnebago, but that TV in the kitchen would have to go. Would much rather have cupboard space in that area.

The Winnebago is the winner for me. It has very similar finishes as the Thor that both of you preferred, but the finishes & quality are of superior quality, plus the storage is more thoughtful. I struggle having a small rig such as these that can accommodate 6 people, albeit extremely tight; 4 seems like the max something of this size, but really, 1-2 people would,be ideal. The Mercedes chassis/engine leaves the other two in the dust. You did state the Mercedes/Winnebago is good for beginners, but it is great for all experience levels. It is very maneuverable, can tow, and will allow access into campgrounds with short spaces. Also, I like smaller slides as they will be less likely to malfunction compared to larger slides; yes, I know any slide can malfunction but the larger the slide, the likelihood is more. Layout, all 3 are very similar. Thanks.

Not so fast on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter accolades. We have one built on the View/Navion 24V platform and we have had nothing but expensive problems with the Mercedes-Benz diesel platform although it does get 50% better fuel mileage. You are right though about Winnebago's quality over Thor and the Winnebago shower is way better.
Tie between the 2nd and the third one. The reasons you had for the second one I agree with and the better shower in the third one. The thing that I noticed with so many beds in these motorhomes is that I look at how easy they are to make and the thing I didn't like about all three of these was that there is no space along the wall side of either of the mattresses to tuck sheets in. Making the bed is always a big important part of these for me and whether it's easier or not because we both have back pain and we're not kids anymore. The other thing I noticed and maybe you could tell me since I haven't been in these is when you have the overhead cabinets over the twin beds, how easy are they to get to without having to go on your knees on the mattress and open the cabinet because that would be a concern to me too. Otherwise I love the way all the space is arranged in all three of them for such a small space and it seems like they are listening to the consumers and getting better and better at how to organize the space. Thanks for this video.
Hey Pattie, In a lot of campers with the overhead cabinets have to be reached by getting on the bed. We've noticed it in many. I have toured the Thor axis and wasn’t impressed with the quality but for the price it could be a part time camper. My favorite for quality is of course the winnebego view but it’s price would only be ok for me if I was going to full time. The beds looked very comfortable and I really liked the sofa and shower.

My favorite was the Thor Axis as well. I like the option of having the twin beds in the bedroom- that could actually be where our son and his friend would sleep while we take the overhead instead. I loved how it was open like a class A. The one and only downside in my mind is that shower- the curtain is definitely a bummer.

There is a huge price difference between the Thor models and the Winnebago. Comparable in price to Thor would be certain floor plans of the Forest River Sunseeker or Forester with twin beds. In Winnebago's price range would be several floor plans from Phoenix Cruiser and, for a little more, Coach House. Most unique small C with twin beds would be Lazy Daze: good luck finding one as they are sold out so far in advance that they are currently not accepting any new orders. Axis would be even better if Thor would offer an upgraded version with more boondocking and cold-weather capability. They could perhaps badge that with their Jayco division.

The Thor Axis 24.1 gets my vote because the cab over bunk retracts all the way up and out of the way, as if it isn't even there. It's a real game changer for transitioning to and from the cab area. That large class A style windshield with no U-haul looking protrusion over the front, is a real winner with my wife. She hates that U-haul look about Class C motorhomes. The twin beds make it so easy to get in and out of bed without trying to squeeze in that usual 6 inch space between the wall and bed. I'm not a big fan of that shower, but all things considered, I think the Thor Axis is on the top of my list.
I agree with you! The Thor Axis is the best of both worlds - big windshield like an A but the size of a C! So glad you like it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I enjoyed your very nice reviews of these 3 units. I have a 27 ft class C that I’m looking to downsize to a 24-25ft unit. But my preference wouldn’t be any of these floor plans simply for where the bathrooms are located. The bathrooms in all these units are set nearly directly across the narrow hall from the fridge, and I know by experience this become a significant traffic jam when both the bathroom is trying to be accessed by one person while the fridge and kitchen is needing to be accessed by another. This has been a big problem for us in our 27 ft Motorhome and I’d think would even be worse in a 24-25ft unit. Also the corner showers would be a no go for sure. I think I’d go for a full wall version of a 25ft floor plan which moves the bathroom out and really opens up the entire coach to avoid the bottle neck in the hallway. I’m not aware of a floor plan like that has twin beds so I’d have to forgo those and go with the queens that typically come with a full wall floor plan. I guess it all comes down to what is most important, having twin beds or getting rid of a congested bottle neck in the hallway. I’d chose opening up the hallway. But if anyone knows of a full wall slide out floor plan with twins I’d certainly be interested in that.
We took the door off added a thick curtain and a great but loud ceiling fan it works just fine👍🏻much better flow we can set back words and let the other person pass.

I did not like the Winnebago because the TV location took up the storage space above the sink. But it seemed to have the widest walk way where the refrigerator opened up. Location of TV was in a great location and good use of the wasted space above the door. Other than that, the shower space in all 3 seemed a little tight. All that said I think I liked the Thor the best, but maybe with the recliner jack knife sofa for leg support and still sleep a child. Thank you for the great content and helpful information!

The best for me was the Winnobago. It had what I .needed. The fact that the chair did not made a bed was not an issue since ther was a bed over the cab area. Just one thing was the placement of TV. I would change that if possible putt on the wall to the left of the recliners with a long arm to pull out. Or I have seen it put above the doorway. It can be seen from the bed and the chairs. Also I would want a small tv in the back bed area. This is the first class C that has everything I would want. Large sink and full stove burner and mircrowave.

That was great - Of course each one has its strengths. Love the Class A driving cabin of your favorite - pretty impressive for a 24 footer. They all seem to have an abundant amount of storage for units of their size. Intersting to see the removal of the permanent dining area - I have a 27' TT and I'm actually thinking of doing the same thing - remove the 2-seater couch and dining table & chairs in the slide out - and get a much larger 3-seater couch and use a set of folding tables at meal time, or for computing.

Thank you for showing the twin beds. I had asked on another video. My favorite is the Thor Axis. Bcuz of the couch. Just wish it had the double bowl sink. Then I'd really love it. The thing that really shocked me was the over the cab sleeping area. You wouldn't even know it was there. Love that it looks like a class A too. Love the bathroom set up, but they could fix the shower setup as well. The Chateau's bedroom area upper cabinets were my favorite tho. I loved the Chateau but the dinette was the deal breaker. For me. I would choose either one. The bathroom areas in each Thor was awesome. Thor has done a wonderful job. Axis is the winner. I'm hooked. Thanks again.

Liked both the Thor Axis 24.1 and the Winnebago View. The Thor appeared to have a larger width twin bed, which is a plus, and the Winnebago had a shower door. When push comes to shove I would probably choose the Thor.
Personally, I was torn while I liked the Axis 1.0, I also liked the Winnebego View 24.1. But for different reasons; the number one reason why I liked the Winnebago View was because of the retractable shower screen. I'm a former housekeeper and I hate; absolutely hate mopping up water spilled on the bathroom floor! That makes the Winnebago View my personal choice; the other thing I loved about the View was the European styled cabinetry! But, if I'm getting an RV, I'm getting one with a murphy bed instead of the twin beds.

Thanks for the great way you show RV's. We had one of the Thor Axis style. It was so bad with dozens of issues we traded it in for a used Georgetown in 6 months. I like the Winne better!! It is nice to have a table mount between the cab seats that can be used as a dinette, or I've seen cabinets on each side of the theater seats that have the table pull up and adjust in front as dinette.
Wish you would look at how wide the rigs are. The Thor is only 7’ wide, for me that is so much better to drive especially with all the construction forcing white knuckling as you drive an 8’ rig through it. I would say the Winnebago is less than 8’ as well. Would love to have you include width. Rockwell has some trailers below 8’ like the Geo Pro.

The Thor Axis/Vegas is, in fact, a Class-A motorhome. A Class-C is built on a cutaway chassis and the cab configuration is stock, that is the same as an E-350 or E-450 Ford truck, or a Mercedes Sprinter.
I liked the Thor because of the big window, it would be nice if the would have a table on the passenger side to make that a working area. I did not like any of the bathrooms. I would rather have the bathroom split shower on one side to get a better shower and toilet size. Thank you great video

I really loved the second RV as well for those same reasons, but would rather have a stove with Oven and microwave on top. 😊😊😊 or put the reclining sofa into #1 loved that RV as well.❤❤❤
It's not easy finding an oven in a motorhome under 25' long, but yes the Thor Axis is a great floor plan. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting Karen.
I would take the winnebago view with the tru comfort sofa with table that makes into a 48 x 74" bed instead of the dual recliners with table option. I like the TV 📺 locations better, and the more functional shower with the shower curtain that squeezes off water as it retracts.

Although I like the idea of a multi-function sofa and that large front window, the shower was a downside for me. My favorite one of the three was the Winnebago. Firstly because of the shower and the overall bathroom made more sense. The cabinets fit and finish looked much better as well on the Winnebago.

The Winnebago I didn't like the TV placement. But not having to fight with shower curtain is huge. On the other two having the door open up is nice and makes feel like more space but there is not . Not have space to do your business is a huge.
Like the Winnebago View best because one of the twin beds is longer at 78 inches and its better build quality. Second choice is the Thor Axis because over cab bed hides away making for a larger windshield view.
Thanks! Mike, for the wonderful tutorial. Just because your a very handsome man, I will be subscribing to your channel. Keep up the excellent work, buddy! Mark....;-)
I really appreciate your videos, just focusing on the layout. Very efficient! If I don’t like the layout I don’t care about the outside stuff which would be a waste of time here. I can find that info elsewhere when I see the layout I like. Great job! I hope you have a video on class b’s. (I have yet to look.) We are trying to decide what to buy, a truck camper, a class B or C. We aim to sell everything and move away from where we are. Possibly live in it for a time while we look for another place. That’s very interesting the class C that isn’t a cutaway. I thought that was what the “C” stood for. ? Thanks for doing your videos. 😊

I kinda agree with your choice of the Thor -- It has a great floor plan --BUT!!! -- We bought one new in 2018 and it turned out to be one of the worst rigs in the world. I was a truck driver with 3 million miles under my belt and I hated driving it. It wandered so much I couldn't keep it on the road. The non adjustable driver seat was so high I couldn't touch the floor. Beds were so hard we couldn't sleep. The dining room table was so far away from the couch you couldn't sit and eat. And all kinds of things through out the rig started falling apart. 3 of those 6 months the rig was at the dealer being repaired. It lasted 6 months and we traded it in for a George Town.

I like a shower curtain just to give you more elbow room when moving around. If you have a issue with curtain getting close to you use a plastic or wood dowel on the bottom wall to wall to keep it back & for me its a much better experience than a solid door or slide. Plus easy to put a new one up when needed than cleaning the doors & in time they look bad with much higher cost replacement. Just saying!

We like the Thor Axis floor plan and would seriously consider purchasing it if it wasn’t for the small shower. If Thor ever modifies the ridiculously small shower, we will definitely purchase, but until then, we will continue our search for a new Rv. Also, Thor has a bad habit of using flimsy shower curtains instead of shower doors. I wish they had a shower door option or upgrade available.
I'm hoping many manufacturers redesign bathroom layouts! In a small motorhome or TT the bathroom always makes the sacrifices. I think we'll begin to see changes. Thank you for watching our RV tour and commenting.
I like the concept of the large front space & wind shield, swivel seats - makes good use of the space. However, what is this that it only has the one entrance/exit door? No doors on the front cab area? I fear this would be a death trap in an accident! How can you get multiple people out quickly in case of emergency? IDK if all of the class A motorhomes have doors on the cab area or not - but it seems imperative for safety to me! Also, please explain about the comments made by @Oldrush "The whole front dash and windshield moves going over bumps."? LOVE the twin beds concept!! That's what we're looking for! Thanks for the review!
The Thor Axis is considered a Class A motorhome and they typically only have one door as opposed to the Class C motorhome with a total of 3 doors. I don't recall seeing that comment by @oldrush. Not sure if that person has personal experience with that motorhome. Glad you found some motorhome floor plans you like. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.

i love the axis for several reasons the twin beds since i travel with my friend who is widowed and im divorced both older so one of us using the overhead is kinda difficult for us to climb those horrible ladders lol love the set up and the cock pit being the A style looks less intimidating to drive
Hey Diane, Campers get pricey, quickly. Sometimes a more cost efficient way is to look on facebook marketplace, craigslist, etc. That's where we purchased ours!
