Yea tim was a setting duck because he was in so deep it couldn't move until the green was on. Larrry had him on the ropes for sure but then red lighted the chance away.

I remember the old days when I used to stage up - I'd stop the car and just hope she stayed where she was when the engine came up ! I never could get used to using the line- lock. Love these vids though.

Only our second time there so I don't know maybe some of the locals will chime in and answer that.

We used to go to the races every summer here back in the 70's and early 80's. ( I used to live in Cullman and Guntersville Alabama........both towns are near here. My Dad's family has been living up there for generations, but I moved to central Florida in 1984. ) No, the block wall wasn't there back then. There was just a steep little hillside where the block wall is now. It used to have bleachers too, along the left lane side. Don't know if the Walker family still owns it. My Dad's youngest sister married one of the Walkers back in the 60's. They founded & still own the Discount Building Supply store in Guntersville. I hope to move back to G-ville someday. Love it up there. Fantastic people.

@@howabouthetruth2157 Yeah, I remember how you describe. I used to bring my little motorcycle there. I think the Walkers own a couple of things, including a lumber supply. Thanks though, at least now I can remember what track it was.

@@DarkLinkAD You're very welcome. I actually had to sit & think for a minute about that wall, it's been so long ago. I have no idea how old that block wall is, but I know it wasn't there in the early 80's. The last time I visited up there was 1999 and I decided to go sight seeing & take a little joy ride that to the drag strip one day. I couldn't get in, it was padlocked, but I could still see the track, and at that time, it looked absolutely horrible. Big humps & huge potholes along its entire length. So I know there was no way they were open for racing then. I was really bummed out about that. In the '70's & 80's, they only started racing early evening which ran late into the night. It was a blast. I was over-joyed to see this video & how they are back up & running. Yeah, the Walker family owns at least 3 "Discount Building Supply" ( big hardware store & lumber yard ) in Guntersville, Arab/Baileyton, and one other, but can't remember its location. 3 of the Walker brothers each founded their own branch of those businesses. Well to do people who's parents started out with a bunch of land. I remember when Robert & Carolyn Walker ( my dad's youngest sister married Robert when they were in their early 20's ) had started the one in Guntersville, and in 1970, they only had a brand new, single-wide mobile home to live in. I was about 8 yrs old at that time. Later, I worked for them from 1980 to 1984. It was around that time I believe they became net-worth millionaires. But you wouldn't know it to meet them out somewhere. ( seeing any of the homes they built & lived in, was a different story of course. ) Very simple, down to earth people who eat beans & cornbread like everyone else around there. Their son Brian now runs the store, which is even bigger than ever. Brian was like my baby brother, and Stephanie, his younger sister. We were very close. I plan on moving back up there after looking after my elderly mom here in Florida. I miss my family and it's such a wonderful place up there. Biggest mistake of my entire life was leaving there in '84. Robert & Carolyn begged me to stay & keep working for them. But I was a young ambitious fool, lol. I used to live practically right on Guntersville lake. If only I could take it all back..........

@@quickdeuce I was under the impression. In order to be a gasser for SEGA, it cant be newer then 67? At least thats what I was told.
