Matt (if that's your name, becuase I just watch your videos when they spontaneously appear), I look at you and your body language and I feel already safe and loved. Seriously. Idk how this is possible, but seriously, you do that.

I highly recommend noting down emotions; it helps A LOT! Especially, it helps me see patterns and frames I was setting for myself. I noticed that in the beginning, I was only writing about hard emotions because I ranked them as valuable. I didn't think about nice emotions as important. Now it sounds really weird, but that was something I had in my head. But after realizing it, I started writing only about nice emotions, pretending like my life is only amazing and happy. My subconscious mind is really funny. After realizing it, I eventually gave myself permission to feel what I feel. It's kind of a funny experience but also very freeing. Is that something common for INFPs? To put some frame on ourselves? To try to force ourselves into our 'ideal' form, or is that more universal?

Yes! I agree that noting all emotions is so eye opening! I'm used to tracking pms related emotions like 'irritable' or 'moody' or 'melancholy' etc. But after getting diagnosed with adhd and doing some deep healing work this past year, I've started to have a lot more positive emotions to write down too! I've also given myself permission to write "contradictory" emotions all in one day, which has given me a sense of freedom to change my emotional state more easily (ex. jubilant and grumpy). Learning to not write off the whole day as sad, for instance, just because of one thing that I felt at 8am, has been revolutionary

My problem is when im shouted at then i get triggered and its very self destructive and hard to get out of that slump of sadness after anger. It takes me a few days but do you have any advice what to do to redirect when triggered as this is the main issue in my life and procrastination and severe anxiety at times is second especially when it comes to serious matters. 😊

5:40 As an INFP I know a negative consequence of this exercise: RUMINATION! I feel that introspectively having that kind of conversation is like digging myself into a hole. And dealing with people with this kind of mentality makes me confused in what is real and what is really just in my head.

Easier said then done. What about if dont want to access these feelings too much as they are painful and lead to you realising that you are not living in harmony with your values but do not have a choice but to accept it.
@GeekPsychology
@GeekPsychology 5 месяцев назад
Everything is easier said than done. Use NLP and self-hypnosis to lessen the bad feeling and open up resourceful ways of thinking. You can depotentiate the negative feelings, but if you should do it or not depends on why you’re choosing to not access them. There’s always a choice. Sometimes that choice is very difficult. Sometimes it causes more problems if we pursue it. Sometimes keeping things the same is the best for the people we care about. That’s still a choice.

This video is "You should do this, so that you can be happy." My question is: Is our goal of life to be happy? To find that "happily ever after"? Because, that wont come in this life.

You can be happy if you choose to be happy. If you don’t want to, then pick another goal and continue to focus on that.

@GeekPsychology

I’ve pretty much given up on doing breakdowns of characters because I’ve had so many videos banned from RU-vid that I’ve put in many many hours of planning and scripting and editing. I’m not sure what it is about my videos that get them banned, but it’s really frustrating.

I'm always torn on whether I'm an INTJ or an INFP...
@GeekPsychology
@GeekPsychology 5 месяцев назад
What’s tearing you?
@Nimariel
@Nimariel 4 месяца назад
When stressed, are you more likely to… Seek escape through sensory experience, familiar or novel (INTJ using Si or Se)? Or go into problem-solving/research mode and/or try to “fix” things as quickly and directly as possible (INFP using Te and Ti)? I’ve found this difference to be pretty telling. Similarly, does logic/reason tighten (INFP) or loosen (INTJ) its grip on you when you are near your breaking point?
@charmedprince
@charmedprince 4 месяца назад
@@Nimariel ohhh definitely an INTJ ! The test gave me INTJ . And there's another one I've read that, if you even question whether you're an INTJ or an INFP, then you're definitely an INTJ lols
@Nimariel
@Nimariel 4 месяца назад
@@charmedprince I’ve also heard that INFPs have a tendency to see themselves as other types due to the constant quest to understand themselves while looking at different possibilities. I got IDed as INTJ twice over about four years by the tests. I didn’t realize I was actually an INFP until this last year when I started to look into the cognitive function stack stuff. I realized that during adolescence I had kind of fixated on my Te and Ti to escape feeling pain and tried to make those my core identity (with not great success). I also found out (the guy on this channel explains it pretty well) that this isn’t unusual for INFPs. Bottom line, I learned that there’s a significant difference between what you try to do and try to be (especially when stressed or fearing failure) and what you naturally are and excel at.
