I'mma be real with you bro, ankh shield is only useful as a quickswap for outside of bossfights and barely worth the time it takes to obtain, and during bossfights is absolutely not worth the slot over a better defensive option (frozen shield and hero shield come to mind, and even worm scarf, frozen shell, and berzerker gloves pre plantera), or just going for more offense

I prefer amphibian boots over terraspark boots because while flying you move faster horizontally, so the tsboots movement boost isn’t really relevant, and amphibian boots allow to fly higher by increasing your flight speed.

Master mode ranger accessories for moonlord: Empress of light wings, soaring insignia, ranger emblem, avenger emblem, destroyer emblem, Sniper Scope, Recon scope, all menacing and shroomite armor with the bullet helmet. The amount of additional ranger damage is well over 100% with the invisibility of the shroomite it easily approaches 200%, plus like an additional 40+% crit chance

More like: 1 accessorie that you need and 2 accessories that will take half your play time

Even tho I always use Ankh Shield in vanilla, I only use it to craft Asgard's Valor in Calamity.

I believe the Amphibian boots are better than terraspark boots for combat, as the vertical mobility facilitates dodging which is much more useful compared to the terraspark boots' bonuses

I beat the game without wings. It’s part of something I dubbed “The Zacian Challenge” Basically you start the game with the Wolf necklace which you must have permanently activated and in order to beat the game you must embrace your inner Zacian and can only use swords. Since you can’t fly with the wolf mount I used the bunch of balloons for psuedo flight

When I'm playing on normal I just use terraspark boots and a UFO mount to save an accessory slot, instead of using wings

you can actually just ignore movement accessories entirely with a good enough mount. both the flying dutchman and cute fishron mounts have infinite flight and can be obtained immediately after starting hardmode.

As a melee player I can confirm that feral claws, teraspark boots, magma, and wings are a MUST

As someone who did my first run with terraspark boots, Unless you get everything you need without grinding, i would recommend only going to lightning boots. Lava waders are nice for WoF but you're rarely gonna be using that functionality otherwise

As a mage player, I agree with the ankh shield. Silence is the bane of my existence.

For the work you put into it, Ankh Shield is pretty trash. Only make it if I'm bored, and I've never once found it useful

If you’re at end game and want to maximize damage, you want only wings that allow horizontal flight and the infinite flight item from empress, then the rest can just be damage items

As a summoner, I'd prefer 1 more slave rather than the ankh shield. I get the ankh normally on random playthroughs but you can honestly just get used to knock back damage when you play summoner.

I would also forge the Shellphone before I go to Hardmode too. It's utility is paramount, despite the fact it isn't an accessory.

still funny to me that the Ankh Shield gives immunity to chilled when none of the prerequisite accessories give it hand warmers really got the shortest end of the stick

I managed to defeat the Wall of Flesh without building any arena just using Terraspark Booots to go on lava.

Wings essentially can be taken off later in the game in trade for an infinite flying mount and replacing them with a higher damage accessory

All Ankh Shield does compared to its predecessor, the Obsidian Shield, is prevent a bunch of debuffs that only a few specific enemies in the game inflict. It seriously isn't worth getting, as the only useful accessory in the Ankh Charm's crafting recipe is the Bezoar, since Moss Hornets are especially relevant and Plantera inflicts Poison.

Wings are super useful but not mandatory if you prefer mounts, Terraspark Boots become pretty useless after you get good wings (or mount), and yeah, the Ankh shield is useful but not mandatory, if you're going to use a shield you'd be better off using Hero's Shield or Frozen Shield for the added defense.

Wings can be replaced with gravity potions/mounts, terraspark boots and even frostspark boots are way overkill for most situations, and the Ankh shield debuffs aren't even that hard to play around. If I were making this list, all 3 slots would be Ancient Chisel.

I will maintain that a Bundle of Balloons and the Gelatinous Pillion are my favorite movement options, and that the only thing traditional wings have over that is horizontal speed- Which I feel any dash can supplement.

I agree with wings, but boots are usually much worse after you get wings, and the ankh shield is not that vital at all when a cobalt sheild does most of its job for bosses

From my personal experiences my opinion is: wings: could live without. Horse shoe sandstorm(I forgot the name for the sand based double jump) balloon and lighting boots can fill that space somewhat well. Terraspark boots: couldn't care either way. I have terrible luck when it comes to find water walking boots and those lava charm things and I have gotten used to having frostspark boots at best (they are called frostspark boots right?). Ahnk sheild: obsolete. I have literally never made or even touched one of these things and my gameplay either goes along the lines of "can't be affected by status effects if everything is dead befor it can hurt you(most playthroughs)","oh crap I have broken armour, better dodge asif my life depends on it because it does(broken armour is the only debuff that actually bothers me or atleast on master mode where everything one-shots you. I usualy survive encounters with the debuff though.)", or "HA Good luck inflicting me with a debuff when I'm all the way over here OH GOD WHERE DID YOU COME FROM! (Whenever I don't use meele weapons, other than boomerangs, of any kind. Though during those runs enemies have a habit of materialising from nowhere and either scaring me or killing me)".

I don't think I've ever used the Boots or shield out of pure laziness.

1. Calamity's defiled taught me otherwise 2. Boots are nice to have but they become useless if you have decent wings 3. Ankh shield is not that good

UFO and Broom beat wings while allowing my character to save 1-2 accessory slots.

Getting an infinite flight mount (UFO, Witch broom, black spot) to remove terraspark boots and wing accessory so you can use more class focused ones Since speed bonuses doesnt affect the mount

Me who has never crafted ankh shield in all of my years of terraria: 🗿 Also never crafted terraspark boots because the grind isnt worth it. My mindset is spectre boots are already there and ill just replace them as soon as i get Lilith's necklace or wings.

Late game I normally ditch speed boots. I find that other accessories are way better for extra damage/defense. Your movement doesn't get that tanked if you have the well fed buff

anyone who goes through the process of getting ankh shield or terraspark boots (let alone both) EVERY playthrough is insane, terraspark is nice but ankh shield is just overkill. personally mine are wings, spectre boots or any higher tier variant, and shield of cthulhu

Wings can be replaced by a flying mount or a semi flying like the queen slime mount Lightning boots can be used as a replacement for terraspark if you don't want to grind Ankh shield is useless by the time you can get it lmao just use an obsidian shield

Whether I use wings or not depends on if QB drops honey goggles on the only kill I bother with, and I basically stop using that or wings when I get either black spot or witch broom. Also usually dont even bother going all the way to terraspark. Ankh shield is something I tend to get tho

Ever since Frozen Shield is released i kinda migrated to that, Ankh Shield doesnt provide enough sustain like Frozen Shield gives. But damn, farming Ice Tortoises is still painful

A dash is definitely more important than the Ank Shield.

wings are actually bad from an experienced point of view, they take up an accessory slot and you could just fly with a mount

I would have placed the ninja gear instead of the wings, u can always use a good mount (broom for ex) but have a dash when u need (especially boss fights) is crucial

"You can't play without wings" My brother in christ I use Bundle of Balloons + Amphibian Boots it's way better, you'll be struggling to get off the ground while I can instantly take off. Their speed is affected by the speed stat, unlike wings, and Sandstorm in a Bottle's effect gives INSANE horizontal movement. Add a slime mount and you'll also have incredible vertical acceleration. I have 3200 hours, this shit got me through Zenith seed and you can get this setup pre-boss, it's such a great overlooked strat.

You can optimally play the entire game without any of these accessories

you really don't need tera spark boots, purely from a boss fighting perspective unless you're going to a lot of effort to add liquids to your arena, don't have wings yet or can't be bothered to platform for fishron the only useful thing they do is the movement speed, so you can just use whatever boots you happen to end up with or if you want to be optimal get the amphibian boots which significantly improve vertical speed especially if you stack them with a balloon (i like to use blizzard since it's the only double jump that also gives horizontal speed). teraspark boots are solid for exploration but you have to do a lot of exploration to get them anyway

I use the ankh charm in my vanities slot and just double click it whenever I need to clear debuffs since it works retroactively. Also, once I get the witches broom mount I no longer need wings or boots.

Never crafted anhk shield, too many grindy materials. Never crafted terraspark boots because ice skates and lava charms never spawn in my worlds and i hate fishing

honestly cant see that the master ninja gear doesnt replace the ankh shield (since most people wouldnt feel like actually getting it) for it basically having 2 of the best accessories (which is brain of confusion and shield of cthulu) into one (with climbing but nobody actually uses that at the time you get it) and its simple to make (just make a small dungeon farm or go search in it and remember to keep the climbing gear and not throw it away) thats just my opinion tho

Im new to the game so in my first playthrough the only mobility accessories i had was a bundle of lucky horseshoe and hermes boots. I literally used the wolf transform mount + ufo mount to fight lunatics and moon lord. I didnt really bother with the npcs. (Im currently doing a ranged playthrough and it's the first time i ever made the ankh shield)

I remember doing a character build with ranger to get over 1000 damage per hit It was a sniper crit build with 102% crit chance

Ankh shield is cool but by no means necessary. There are much better options like frozen shield

The only reason I upgrade the Obsidian Shield to the Ankh Shield is for the extra 2 defense

Eh I’m to lazy to go through all the stuff you need to do to get taraspark boots so I usually just leave them at like lighting boots or specter boots Same thing for the Ankh shield

The 4th best accessory is soaring insignia drops from the mommy- I mean empress of light in expert mode pretty rare to get makes you able to fly infinitely with any wings I recommend using Celestial star wings really op

“Wings” I hardly use em. I use the necklace that makes you a wolf or the santank in conjunction with the horseshoe bundle of balloons.

Frozen shield is better than ankh shield in bosses fights, it gives more defense and grants damage absortion when bellow 50% hp

Best wings/ mount/combo is simply the star and infinite flight...once you can easily move around like that moonlord is a cinch!!!
