3 things every zine maker needs (cheap and easy!) 

Here are 3 cheap and easy tools every zine maker should have on them! These tools will make it easier to adapt to challenges when making your zine:
1) A bone folder helps you get the flattest folds (but if you can’t buy one, you can always use your nails to flatten folds! Plus, there are lots of other things that can help with this too…like credit cards, the side of your scissors, a ruler, etc.
2) I highly recommend 24 Lb paper because it’s thin enough to fold but thick enough to last wear and tear. It’s also a little bit thicker to avoid bleed throughs if you like to print on both sides of the paper! It also just gives you a more vibrant print than standard 20 Lb copier paper (but you can still use that, too! It just depends on your needs)
3) Lastly, I always keep a piece of cardboard nearby in case I have to open a stapler to bind my zines. Not everyone has access to a long arm stapler, so I suggest opening a standard stapler and binding that way. You need the cardboard as a cushion so you don’t damage your desk or table!
