Uchiha Sasuke i am intp i am 20 years old .i had tried almost anything to study from understanding everything why i didnt study and i was stil wasnt study(lol). i first study when i said inside me i am going to learn this subject no matter what perfectly and that was the begining of the end of my not studying.first step (almost most importand)put the book in front of you . second learn in general what you will learn and then begin . serenity in your head and most importand ,never feel despair or study fluffy write down things. when i was 18 i thought oh the book i am not going to learn that pessimistically and i was studying about 5 minutes and complaining the book was hard to understand . DO THAT NOW DONT GIVE UP I DONT SAY THAT LIKE I AM ARROGANT BUT ME AS AN INTP HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL. also i overcame my absent mindness by writing things down when studying sorry for bad engish

One thing is being underestimated. One day, one of my friends asked me what was the capital of Portugal but, I didn't know the answer. Then, I got so pissed off that I spent approximately 2 hours learning all the countries of Europe and their capitals. It's weird being an INTP.

To all my fellow INTPs out there, don't let your weaknesses impact the way you look at yourself. You are awesome, if others don't understand then it's their loss. Appreciate yourself, try to solve your problems rationally, and PUSH yourself to DO things! I know you get bored easily, but you really need to accept the fact that you have to DO things not only think about them. Make to-do lists to get things done. And please don't say I suck at school or life. Major or work in a field that would be infinitely baffling to you, perhaps science. I can't concentrate in lectures but I've found it helpful to read the textbooks and to study by my own. It takes time, but I always end up getting high grades. Get out of your comfort zone and live your life as long as you're here. Life deserves exploring.

"Am I going to make it? Am I going to be some wandering hobo on the street?" Seriously, I've wondered this about myself since junior high. I still can't believe I made it through university. I'm even going on an exchange next year. Without all of the parental support I've had I probably wouldn't have even finished high school. Do any other INTPs suffer from epic amounts of procrastination? To the point where you can only ever concentrate on something that you've started on a whim? And will procrastinate even on the smallest things (applying for a scholarship) for weeks and weeks until you finally complete it 30 minutes before the deadline? -- a female INTP

So basically... as an INTP myself: We say we're smart... And yet can't prove it to society. Go figures. Someone else gets all the credit. :-P Also: so agree. I literally just want to go away from this freaking world. Like I'd travel the world everyday and loose all the nonsense like small talk,celebrities, school, work. Blah,blah,blah. Could I go on a cruise boat, travel the world and never leave? YeAh thanks. That'd be the perfect world. Meh. I guess I'd go crazy though cuzz no one would come with me. I was googling for years because I always thought I was different and that I couldn't really connect with other people. Thanks to your video I found out that I'm also an INTP. I'm kinda smart, but I've isolated myself a lot (also due to high social anxiety during my teens). I'm lazy as fuck and I've always sucked at school for as long as I remember. I am also able to express my thoughts better through writing than by speech. Sometimes I tend to get lost in what I want to say and then I start mumbling words. One thing I do find weird though is that I often seem unaware of my surroundings. Like yesterday my mom removed the Christmas tree out of our living room and I hadn't even noticed it until she mentioned it. People also tend to not understand my logic at times, I sometimes do illogical things without really thinking about it and afterwards I'm like why the hell did I do it that way? When I go to bed I often re-scan my actions during the day thinking about in which other ways I could do things and wishing I could go back in time. I'm bored most of the time, especially now that I quit my (summer) job a few months ago. I'm thinking of starting my own internet company because I hate working for a boss for the rest of my life. Problem is I started out on a few projects but I never even finished them due to my laziness.. Only positive things are that I do go to the gym every day and that I like to expand my computer knowledge. I do have a few friends with whom I go out sometimes. I'm kinda at the point where I'm like wtf am I going to do in life, my family members are questioning me the same thing (22 btw). I don't have much experience in the dating department due to my lack of experience and general awkwardness around girls even though I'm normal looking. I'm perfectly comfortable with staying at home most of the time, I only go outside when I need to buy things etc. And last but not least I fantasize a lot about my own dream life where I have everything I need in terms of money, friends and relationships.. Since a week ago I started to change my bad habits one by one but it's damn hard to unlearn years of slacking. tl;dr: I'm a perfectly normal guy who can be outgoing/make people laugh, but sometimes I feel like I can't connect with people on a deeper level, my extreme laziness doesn't help me either.

+electrobussterr Yea man I totally relate, socialising with people and explaining complex things that all so vivid in my head but not translated into human speak is just ridiculous. Especially as a design student, i am required to collaborate and share ideas and visions. If you think you are lazy, I think it's because you think you are "smart". I have a lot to relate with you, but I think the term "smart" does nothing more than boosting the person's ego and make him think he can do ANYTHING if he wants to.
@TooFresh3o5
@TooFresh3o5 7 лет назад
You know... I don't think you're lazy . Someone who is willing to go to the gym consistently isn't lazy. Just look at the charts and see how many overweight and unhealthy people exist. I think you just have a hard time finding something to allocate your time too. Thus you end up thinking & thinking & thinking, which will be seen as laziness, especially to others. Saying your lazy is like a girl saying to her bf that he's afraid of commitment even though he been working on growing his business for over 5 years.

Dude, your eyebrow game. A+ And yeah, I experience the same things. Even things I'm interested in, unless it's completely absorbing, I cannot stay on one thing. For instance, when typing this comment, I stopped midsentence, scrolled up to your video, and watched. Then when 30 seconds passed and I got bored, I scrolled back down to continue my comment. I very quickly jump around things. I've found this tendency has grown as I've gotten older.

You might be smart in ways you haven't realized yet. Memorization of facts is not the way to measure an INTP's intellect. It is what the INTP does with the information that counts. Connecting seemingly separate ideas and unifying them into a grand structure is just one example of the possibilities of what we are good at.

I'm speechless. This video is legit like a fucking MIRROR of my brain. Everything you just said in this video are my daily thoughts and I'm just so fascinated, I've never met a person who's the copy of the inner me. I often just wanna live in a generation where I don't have to go to school, but still read, learn and teach as these are things I love to engage myself in, but it has to be about stuff I'm ACTUALLY interested in. And often I think of death. I'm hoping for death more than just keep dealing with life, but I'm not even depressed actually, I'm just bored of reality. A few second after desiring death and hoping that death will be my final freedom, I just turn back to my life and continue making my weird inner jokes, that's why I constantly giggle at people or at things or at nothing. Ok this is not normal, I know. But like... often I just focus on stuff that might not be relevant to others, and often I question stuff that no one has answers to. I'm and ENFP. I actually know nothing about INTPs and I randomly came across this video, but thanks for sharing the video. I feel a bit more content to know that I'm not alone with these thoughts.

I feel sort of the same about humor (I'm like border line INTP/INFP) because I'll find a lot of "smart" things funny that other people don't really understand or they think is weird or just unfunny, but I also find a lot of stupid things funny and I can cater and be the "funny guy" and it's like I'll say a joke that I know other people will find funny but I don't...there's like no in between

what you’re describing is the Ne function being a jester. Depending on how strong your Ti is, you’ll either reign it in or let it run free. It’s the one thing that makes me child like, i’ve embraced it after trying to suppress it for so long. it makes me a great conversationalist and more interesting and less rigid.

Lol.. I know where you are completely. Because I am twice your age, I am much more stable with who I am. My recommendation: look here on youtube for "think and grow rich" by Napoleon Hill. Pick a subject of interest and apply everything you have to this. It does not necessarily have to be geared towards money. It can be used for anything of interest. If applied it will only take a very short amount of time and you will be on your path and living life on your terms. I know you have the intellect and open mindedness to comprehend exactly what this book is about. I wish I came across this info at your age. You have to realize that you are who you are and should not feel that you need to live life like others around you. Deep down you don't want to be like others anyway. You cannot make yourself fit into the common mold that everyone else is living in. If you do you will be depressed your whole life. Besides, you have the ability to see beyond what the common folk do, so don't try to limit who you are because of what others cannot comprehend or have no imagination for. BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE. invest in yourself and your abilities NOW while you are young. And when you get older you will be dominant and confident in everything. Good luck

I've basically commented on all of your vids but i just found them and, being an INTP, have been binge watching them instead of starting my midterm paper..... but what you say about humor from 3:20- 4:00 is so spot on, especially about resorting to "dumb" humor as a crowd pleaser/ means of relating to others and engaging them. I probably fall back onto my dumb humor way too much, which has- in combination with the zero effort put into classes I don't find interesting- caused most people who don't know me well (outside of my small, intimate circle of friends) to assume I'm a stupid person. What's funny about INTPs is how extremely off the perceptions of other can be.

Hey bro, I made it all the way to the end, have not watched your videos in a while but I always feel like your talking exactly what im thinking everyday, I use to watch Anime when I was in high school, stopped because I could not justify wasting my time reading subtiles for hours if I couldmlisten toma series in english and multitask. I love being awake as many hours as possible and happy with little sleep, 5 hours is enough, and I love instant coffee, i drink about 30 - 40 teaspoons of coffee a day, 1-13 cups with 3 spoons each, started drinking coffee when i was 5 I think, I also smoke weed on a full time basis going on 6 years, I find it helps slow my mind down, bringing me to the level of normal people, making it easier to just deal with things, I can sit for hours on the internet drinking coffee and smoking, all information is valuable to someone, and I love learning about everything, watching anything, but hate reading, if i were to watch a vlog, I would be learning on culture and other countries. I have seen myself as becoming a hobo since primary school, remember answering the teacher telling her ill become a hobo oneday in my childlike ignorance.. I would love solitary confinement with a pc and internet, can leave me there to just spundge... i dont like to read, I find that i loose concentration and start thinking about other things, but my eyes keep reading and I loose my spot... I have a long term girlfriend and choose few friends over many, my bestbfriend is also a intp, but he does not like to learn and is bored easily with knowledge, not sure if he is a true intp or if I rubbed off on him, I have found that my peqrsonality rubs off easily on othersnif I spend to much time with them. I work as a waitor 3 days a week and do youtube the rest of the time, I am not interested in money, dont care to have it or spend it, but without my parents in my life making the things like car licence happen, I would prob be fucked. No skill to take care of myself in the real world, cant even fill in a check deposit slip.... im just rambling now, if you read this far, let me know space cowboys :D

And i have considered the hobo life many times... thinking whatd the point in all of this.. and i also feel like i am born in the wrong time..it is weired... but think with us intps we overanalyse things.. somrtimes the problems are not as big for another type. We seem to take things more personally and can be our own critics.. thanks for sharing this.. its like listening to my left through someone else.. :) these days i go to my sj friends when i need to practical advice on every day things.. they help me ground and come out of my heads. Also, i've started meditating to help me keep my mind clear and prove my focus.. i have to say, its helping..

I've watched some of your videos, also watched this one to the end and glad I did. All these problems you mentioned, inability to pay attention to small external detail (I seriously began to question if my brain was degrading or something due to that one), getting bored and unable to focus with boring study, worrying about becoming a philosophical hobo etc. are exactly the same. Not being understood is also my biggest problem and not gonna lie watching this video made me feel more understood than anything else, ever. I also have stacks of philosophical/science based thought written down all over the place (paper/laptop/tablet) and it's disorganised and I forget them and sometimes redo them pointlessly so yeah I gotta organise that too. I'm 90% introverted, and due to not finding anyone who understands me became even less social than before. I always thought to myself that if I ever found someone who is similar, the first thing I would ask is to look at some of your theories, so... may I? :D (btw random information: I study medical engineering, 2nd year)

smart people need to stick together. buy our own island and make it the perfect nation. the leader must have the highest IQ and have a group of people in charge of each section in the nation. like economy, food, technology and all other aspects of a successful nation. have a fair ruler and harsh punishment towards lawbrakers. And when the nation is doing better than good we can use the extra income to buy out other land and thus expand. in 10 generations we can own the world. AND THE MOON

So cute! I'm glad I stayed until the end. I admire you as a fellow INTP because you come on here and make yourself vulnerable to the world which is REALLY hard for us. I relate 100% to everything you talked about here. I'd like to add that the great thing about life is that it sucks for a minute (maybe longer) and then it gets good again. I am always feeling like my life can't get any suckier and then something happens to remind me that it could be worse and then I am grateful again. Repeat.

Made it to the end 2 years later. That ending, wow :D I'm not 100% certain of my type as INTP, but I related so much to your videos. Especially the part about notebooks, collecting everything, having lots of great ideas, understanding everything, but never thinking about it again. My notebooks are not filled cover to cover, but I have tons of notebooks because they all have a different category of use, right? Can't mix that information, there's a system to it... Your video about compulsive learning really hit the bullseye as well. I actually did great in school, which has its own reasons & story, but INTPs seem not to fit into the "system" well in general. Having an "ordinary" life or doing anything "ordinary" never appealed to me. Hope you keep making videos, if not, thanks for the ones you made. Your'e honest & authentic in your videos - sharing what's on your mind and putting yourself out there is not easy. Good luck with life. No single bad experience is ever the end and everything is a learning opportunity, and that's what INTPs are good at right? :)

As an INTP I feel you :( I think we get stuck in our dominant functions(Ti) a lot of times and it makes us sad. However, I find myself feeling healthier and happier when I entertain Ne more and focus more on taking in more information and strengthening my skills. I think when we're really good with the things we want to do and take care of ourselves people will naturally come to us. -for procrastinating, I think it's also good to have a planner for daily things and complete it in a gamified manner would be helpful!

me (INTJ) and my boyfriend (INTP) have just watched the whole thing and he was laughing frantically during many parts of the video (me too, because i've seen him there - we've known each other for 10 years, so yeah. much memories, so wow). ^^ Just wanted to let you know what worked for us. Find someone with opposite functions and spend time with them (and it does not have to be a romantic relationship). You both can learn something (for example "my" INTP learnt a little something from my Te "skills", and I've learnt SO MUCH from seeing his Ti in action (this was particularly healthy for my Ni-Fi loop situation)). Wish you a more pleasant trip through life. Greetings from Prague :) see you space cowboy!

Man when you were talking about the hobo thing that really hit home. I've had visions of me dropping out of society and being a wanderer or nomad and when I see someone I walk up and drop some super philosophical statement or idea that makes that person "wake up" or completely re-access what they are and what they're doing. Idk I just had to share that cause I'm an INTP too and I've literally had that same thought.
@RodCornholio

Me, another INTP, would like to add my hobo-hermit thing: all my life, the hobo-hermit symbol has lurked just under the surface of my mind. Part of it is a fear of becoming one, the other is a desire to detatch (somewhat) from society and BECOME one. Many times I have fed the homeless, because I see myself in them.

Lol watching your vids is like watching a copy of myself, it's funny to see how INTPs will run into exactly the same kind of problems. I too get annoyed at my structural failings with trivial daily chores, I got so fed up with it that I decided to sit down for 3 hours and devise a system of checklists so that I would literally encompass every single trivial task you could think of - turn off lights, check fridge for rotten food, etc - all into one place so I would never forget these tasks again. I can't believe it but it actually seems to be working so far.

INTP here too. I hate the same things lol. I found your video when I was on a quest to find how to have more attention to detail on the net. Keep fighting bro, try door to door sales and pick up women in a club. You might hate it at the start, but dude you'll get great personal development from that. It helped me, now I have girl who is interested in me. Just turned 27. We just need more courage and get out more and care less about how others think about us, just move on and you'll find someone awesome.

You know as an INFP with ADD I can totally relate. Especially the part with being born in a different time/ period. I do think that we are better in hunter-gathering societies. We are good at seeing things around us, coming up with creative solutions. We are better in environments of high stimuli.

I stayed to the end, obviously. The part about compiling really hit me. I'm INFJ, and recently those were my exact thoughts. Like why do I spend literally all days long organizing my shit. Writing down ideas, re-writing them to new notebooks to find them more easily, not to lose the idea, and the endless feeling of lack of closure if I don't do all that. So much stuff! And If I don't organize them irl , they're messy in my mind. Like my Ti wants to organize, but it's too weak to do it in my mind, it needs outside order as well. I dwell on things, go deep, analyze the hell out of them. So I liked listening to you. I uderstand what you say.

Hey, Space Cowboy! :D I'm INTP and I understand what u felt.. Most of the time I'm absent minded, musing over new ideas in my head, I forget small stuff.. Yep, writing journals is a good step, at least it's written there somewhere.. About the ADD, yeah, I guess most of INTPs are jack of all trades.. I often wonder, would it be nice if I could have the ultimate obsession towards certain things for a very long period of time.. But no.. My interest could be so random and quickly shift.. :( Yes, I believe one would rather be understood than be loved.. It's devastating most of the time to keep things to urself because people won't appreciate it.. And it feels so liberating to meet someone who gets u.. Well, havva nice weekend! I'd be watching more of ur videos!

Hi, I am an INTP. I can relate to your 3 points, let me share with you my solutions: 1 - MISSING THINGS / UNORGANIZED This will never go away, as you get older and face more serious responsibilities/consequences, you learn to find practical solutions to cope with this weakness. My solution is to put aside 30min per day to deal with crap(mails,bills,etc). Train yourself to do this everyday. You will never enjoy it, but you can make it more enjoyable by making yourself a nice tea/drink while sorting through the boring bills. If you ever start your own business, hire someone to help you in administration and management tasks early on. 2 - TROUBLE PAYING ATTENTION As you discovered, not only you dont have problem paying attention, but you are actually great at it. Follow your attention and trust your interests as it will lead you to discover your potential strength. I studied Mathematics, and then ArtDirection. Many people see these sort of parallel studies/interests as being indecisive or signs of troubled mind. Today, i find both/all my studies and experiences crucial to my unique career position. Self doubt will be there, just trust your interests and try to combine/merge them. 3 - NOT BEING UNDERSTOOD We think complex and complex thoughts are difficult to communicate. So you have two options here, either improve your communication skills. for instance, as a filmmaker you can learn how to visually deliver a message in short time. The second option is to break complex thoughts into simpler and more casual facts for people to get what you mean. The communication problem becomes more critical once you step into dating and serious relationship. When I am misunderstood, I attempt to explain myself again, in more basic and clear actions/language. This will also happen a lot in professional and work related relations. You will learn to adjust the level of your complexity to your audience. You should find friends or join groups/activities that let you push your intellectual/analytic pedal to the end, this will give you mental relief and satisfaction. 4 - ANOTHER PROBLEM As you grow older, you will find this world less and less ideal place. Sometimes you wonder if u are doing anything special or dedicating something valuable to this world, You ll realize people don't think as much as you do and can not dive into life matters as deep as you can. This will make you feel lonely. One way to deal with this, is to use your sense of humor. Try to laugh at things that bothers you. I drew cartoons and participate in cartoon competitions to practice laughing at problems, seeing them from a different angle than I usually do as a serious analyzer. Enjoy your 20s and keep discovering yourself and the fascinating world outside of you.

See ya, space cowboy! Hahaha great video - I felt like I could relate to a good chunk of this as well, & I'm an XNFP. Oh my god. That smart/funny thing you were talking about sums up my early school career. In elementary school I was the class clown, everyone loved my jokes and stuff and I’d do or say the stupidest things at the perfect for a maximum amount of humuor. So when I’d do something smart or intelligent in a trivia game or bringing something up to the teacher , I’d always get a, “wow, I didn’t expect that out of you.”

Lately I've been organizing my place a lot but by end of the day it would be just as messy (or worse) than it was prior. Also, my horrible memory and anxiety are just making days in college my difficult. One thing that's been helping me is making To-Do lists before I go to bed.
