Hi Aki. I am Aiman, and I am a RU-vidr from Malaysia. It is interesting that you said Malaysia is the top country that Japanese people want to move to, because soooo many Malaysians want to move to Japan! We kind of look up to your country because of your culture of self-discipline, politeness, and cleanliness. But I guess we shouldn't generalize. Thank you for sharing with us your perspective.
Yes, I agree. I myself is also from Malaysia and I am really interested in Japanese culture. I was also shock to listen that Japanese visitors would be excited to visit Malaysia. It is nice how you share this and I do hope people from Japan enjoy themselves in Malaysia.
Terbalik kn tp aku dh bace da statistic mmg fact la japan mmg suka cara malaysia dan malaysia suka cara japan yg berdisiplin kiranya kita ni terbalik la dorng ni suka malaysia sbb tk stress mcm negara dorng kerja keras on time dtg kerja
i remember the first time meeting my japanese lecturer and he said that don't expect him to be punctual everytime because he's malaysian enough to come late for classes 🤣🤣🤣
Things that Malaysian would love to have from Japan: - Cleanliness - Good Manners and Mindfulness - Effective and efficient Public Transport - Drawing Skills - Efficient Work Flow - Obedient to Rules Things that Japanese would love to have from Malaysia (imo): - Malaysian Work Life Balance (Late is forgiven, go home on-time [most of time], more holidays, more me time) - No need Keigo (a form of respect language, simple malaysian english will do) - Lenient hierarchy of power (You can voice out personal opinions regardless of job position/age/gender) - More Freedom! (more relaxed in doing stuff, able to go restaurant even during work break hours) - Job Hopping is a Norm (no need to feel guilty for betraying your company for leaving) Thats pretty much I can think of for now xD
Yes, dude. After going back home, first bath. Or maybe pour myself a pail of ice water. Really really extremely (run out of word) hot then 3 days of raining cats and dogs... I hate Malaysia weather, dont play play
It's a japanese thing, they have term they wanna use. I work with Japanese company in Malaysia and got used to it. For example, they call a normal video as a "movie", transparent as "skeleton" and so on 😂
Avri ' well, it is very hard not stereotyping when averagely 8/10 i met very hard to communicate in english. Not that we cannot converse, but just the conversation not fluent. Meeting the 2/10 who are fluent is still surprising. 😁
Usually when Malaysians want to meet each other... If one person is late.... The term"I onthewy " always been use.... No matter u Malay, Chinese or Indian..... Late is normal... Being on time sometimes is weird... That's make us Malaysia... Relax relax...
Its depend tho. My friends and I not the type who are late. But its always 3 of us so thats why we get along well. We always well planned our schedule but we got so done if someone suddenly join in and being so late and drag all of us schedule.
true...me also ealy type person....I don't like people to wait me....penantian itu satu penyeksaan....but most most people who come late use that ..I on the way...
Being late is malaysian. But that's not how we do it if we got something important to be handle. Usually people are late when they are going to reunions, family gathering, group discussions and etc. But its not that we cannot finish our assignments or anything. There's a lot of things that hold us back such as family matters, mostly traffic (because literally everyone that got car license drives themselves to places) and etc. But there are more positive vibes that you can achieve as you stays here. The cultures, the races, the celebrations, the traditional dances, the traditional foods, the wedding ceremonies, the traditional clothes. All of it will makes you amaze at how we manage to have all of that in a small country without any wars. P/S : normally people would say "5:30 pm waktu melayu" means at 5:30 pm you'll get ready and meet at 6 pm. HAHAHAHAHA lastly, sila la berbangga dengan Malaysia.
Aida Syamira yep you're so right. no matter what, i will always be proud of our own country compared to others. We're always so chill because life is good
That is always the way here. Many places would have toilet paper as well but it's not very compatible with the wet floors, especially is the more rural areas etc.
I used to wish marrying a Japanese just so my children would inherit Japanese punctuality and hardworking. LOL. But overall there are their own pros and cons in both Malaysian and Japanese culture. Jaa.
As a Malaysia, I hope we are going to be clean, punctual and honest likes Japanese did.....but not in depression, tensioned all the time. We don't have high rate of suicide.... Life is beautiful..... We live in this world just for a temporary time, before an eternal life after death.....
Razman Abd Razak That is usually the price if you are seeking such perfection that in the end, our country truly don't have to imitate the Japanese's system and whatnot, rather just give it a little push while ensuring the normality we are used with to make it better. Lead a fulfilling and competitive life while stay sure of yourself.
Don’t worry. I’m Malaysian and I will never get used to train esp Komuter arrive late most of the time. I wish it will be improved to arrive on time so that I wont have to wait for 45 minutes. Thats why most Malaysian use car to get to places. 😊
Thats true.sometimes i have to wait up to one hour and it make me missed my train ets to ipoh from kl. I was so sad and frustrated at that time because i am going home for holiday and it ruin my day.ktm ofcoz.now i take lrt to kl central eventhough the lrt are a bit more far but atleast it is punctual
Japanese are always welcome here in Malaysia,we have our "Look East" policy and make Japan as our role model and bring in more Japanese companies because they pay our salary more than local companies in malaysia,i love Japan!! ❤😆👍
Vysair totally agree with you my friend, for me Japanese products are of the highest quality along with the level of cleanliness and hardworking essence of Japanese people!😊👍
Okey. I like this! Nevertherless, japan is always a great country that we always look upon to. When Tun Dr Mahathir set 'look east policy" in 1980's. We invent our own technology, we did the read campaign. But nahh. Majority of us don't really read.. And some malaysians will throw the trash on side of the road.. literally... I'm so stressed out bcz of that. Malaysia need to have a strict governance just luke the singapore. Its bcz their own government is strict. But in terms of self discipline, the korens, japanese, chinese..Won. we always look into japanese culture to improve ourselves .like japan is really great for us.. My company also have some of the japanese culture like 5s, if we get into sloppy performance, the chance of getting into bell curves and might be terminated and that will effect on others perception and employer perception to us. We also are encouraged to learn nihonggo. Ahhh but... Ahhh i don't really have time yet to learn seriously. I'll settle my research first then i'll learn japanese languange. In a conclusion, japan is a great model for us. And yeah, i really hope that u guys can enjoy our beloved country 😍
hilarious lol~ we malaysian tryna improved our way of life and making japan as the reference, yet you came here to experience our relax working environment. relax mean less suicide rates, but also you got a shitty service. btw love your content. good point.
Najihah Hamzah yasss , true enough . I thought i was the only malaysian that will be on-time or 5 mins early before everything start. For me , being relaxed is when you arrived early and take your few mins breathing before start everything 😂😂😂😂😂
Najihah Hamzah Yeah. Malaysian (particularly malays) people only know how to show off, being rude and bullying people that differ from the majority, act tough, not so friendly, insecure as hell, arrogant, close minded, timid, passive but big talk (jaguh kampung), lazy as tapir, ugly, archaic, judegemental and sex-crazed and more.
Japanese people like Malaysia place.. But Malaysia people like go to Japan because in Japan is full of respect each others. I know this because I have been Japan for 2 week last couple months ago. I go to Tokyo with my parents and my girlfriend.
That was honest opinion from Japanese guy... Polite way to described... Well, when someone acknowledge it... I start to realize about it... and give answer 'That's true...'
1. I agree with you on the non-halal section. It's always at a corner where people don't usually go unless they wanted to buy pork and/or alcohol. 2. I for once, if truly have to use public toilet, opt for fast food restaurant's toilet because it's much cleaner. 3. My boss only have 1 rule. When he asked you, "Have you done the work I asked you to do?" The answer have to be "Yes". He tolerate almost everything. Of course not everyone is lucky to have such a boss. 4. A friend of mine from a Western country once said, Malaysian are more afraid of ghost/spirit than germs/deseases. Have you seen most restaurant in Malaysia? Most of it are open area next to the gutter. 5. I watched a Japanese movie where this male lead threw away his trash in a trash can, mind you, after eating at a fast food restaurant. Here, you don't actually do that. You leave your trash behind. Why? Because the fast food restaurant was kind enough to hire people to clean up after you. I once try to do it myself, but the staf was shocked like I was robbing his work or something. 6. Most Malaysian have the "I'm on the way" attitude when they're not even half way there. *sigh* I was a teen when the 4th Prime Minister told us to look at Japan. He meant for us to adopt the positive things from Japan like being clean, right on time, hardworking, etc. And I did. I actually adopt those things. It's useful while multitasking. But, such a waste when my seniors are all laid back and keep telling me to chill as in their word, "there are always tomorrow to do it." *sigh*
auni81 👏👏 Preach! I was laughing like a madman while reading your comment. Sometime in the future, I really hope the term 'I'm Otw' will be used less. I'm that rare Malaysian who actually hate being late.
Come here after watching the latest video, the ones about watching Sakura flower in Malaysia..and I was like "whoa, wait... Are you Aki from that video-.... Have to say that you have changed alot🤭😅The vibe, the appearance, the mood and all.. As long as you're happy tho, go for it
Going to Tokyo in sept.. now i am worried hw will we survive without 'bum gun' there.. 😄 For Malaysians, without bum gun, you don't really feel 'satisfied'.. hehe
Diana Rashid japan is so hi tech, some toilets do hv bidet n even dryer button after the wash. But always bring empty water bottle, u can refill from the sink or wet wipes when u travel as not all hv bidet, and most countries dont.
"Malaysian people are always relaxed" Uhhhhh I don't think so if you're still a student from 7-17/18 years old... If you're a Malysian, you'll know why...... Btw,go visit Ipoh!!(bcoz i live in ipoh and trust me,the food is delish!!)
:Alyssa : well they had it worst actually..to me our school is still relax compare to japan or korean..and it is so true that malaysain people always relax..i remember my classmate during university, he is a foreigner.. he also always mentioned that malaysian student always so relax and i couldnt agree more cause it’s so true..
Hahahahha... I felt like an alien when I travelled to non muslim country.. They always ask about my etired.. hahaa But Malaysian muslim women eventhough we wearing hijab .. yet we add some fashion on it... hahha
I’m interested in knowing what makes you want to come to Malaysia? I’m eager to visit Japan one day. Currently self studying Japanese 😭 Pray that I won’t stop halfway.
Good luck!! btw you could visit Japan on your own at only around RM2000++ (7 days). +accomodation +food + transport(train) +flight tickets. Airasia tickets could be as low as rm300+ for one way. or much cheaper if you could find the right dates. usually NOT on holidays. Japan is very safe. we could travel 4 girls (age around 20-22 yo) by ourselves. you could ask me for infos if you want😊
Calen that's true, last time I travel in Japan I used only a around 4k my for 18 days But that also means you should know you are in a very tight budget, and you need to adjust the inflation rate, before USD go up to 4 myr But I glad I did, as an 18 year old student spending all my savings and did some part time
true. few years ago i was late by 1-2 hours and it happened three times in a month coz i played too much games late at night. i still got my salary increased. here they don't really care that much as long as you do your work properly and did a pretty decent job. most of the employers i met were like that.
Sorry,if my English was bad cuz im not really good in english..in Sarawak..... we can live with a lot of race people -Iban -Kadazan -Bidayuh -Kayan -and lots more and all of them are non muslim but still... in Sarawak you will see a lot of chapels, churchs and even mosques and fun fact if the parking lot of church crowded, the people can park inside the mosque parking lot...BTW I’m Sarawakians
Oh i know about this When the friday prayers, the church and temple will open up their parking lot and the same goes when there's Sunday prayer fro Christian and for other religion when they had a festivals and such. Tolerance is important after all.
I dont think Malaysians are that relaxed depending on which companies and imdustry you work. Its very tough working in MNC and GLC with wetsern workimy culture. I worked with a US manufcaturing company and we always work 7am until after 5pm, due to the nature of our work. Of course we try to enjoy ourselves in between by having two breakfast, one lucnh and an evening tea time when jts not busy. My brother used to work with HSBC and worked on weekends and overtime without pay. Many Malaysian work long hours despite low hourly wages(rm5/hour).
Its like for a month out of a year . We aint need no food we strong ahahha joke aside we do eat before sunrise and after sunset , for that month , a holy month in fact , 'Ramadhan'
Captain_ Khai142 That is true.. you can actually see that in documentaries not only hear about it.. We just pray to God to free us and protect us from them 🙏
KL quality of life (at most middle income suburbs) the quality if life s perhaps is as good as Tokyo. So many Japanese or people from developed countries can fit in. The diversity of the population with many East Asian faces, Indians and South Asians, local Malay and a strong expat community mean you dont feel alienated. KL is also generally safe.Getting foods from different cultures is also very easy with Malaysians regularly eat out at Korean, Japanese and Western outlets with Indian and Chinese food already part of the local cuisine, many major supermarkets commonly sell packed sushi and Japanese food due to the popularity if Japanese culture among youths .African people are also common sight due to mamy of them studying in KL. Another growing community are the Koreans who are concentrated in Ampang and Mont Kiara that its so easy to get Korean food in these area.
Living in Malaysia so enjoy n relaxing without heavy stress if u are living in village malaysia area surely u feel so relax n cool compared in town area.
yup! we do relaxed almost all the time, and we also say “no” when it is necessary. ;) anyway, you can always use the tissue near by the sink when you go toilet, if u dont have toilet paper with u ;) cheers👍🏼
今日は!始めまして!日本に住んいる永住民のマレーシア人です。確かにここのストレースが高いし、何でも細かい事色々があるんです。 Malaysia is so laid back and I love the slower pace of life but I should say that Japan is really amazing as well. Aki-さんはイケメンですね! Stay cute!! 🥰🇲🇾🌸🇯🇵
Hahaha! I am a Malaysian born and brought up in Europe and only came to my "new" country when I was eighteen. At first, I too was annoyed about my new countrymen sense of time keeping. But thanks to the constant advice from my late Malay mother, I was kind of used to it too. I still keeping myself on time, but I do not really get upset if the person I'm meeting was 15-20 minutes late..... yeah, Malaysia. No other nation on earth could claim to have the same uniqueness (oxymoron, yes, but you know what I mean)
Wow dia just describe sikap rilek orang malaysia aka "malas" dengan tona yg sungguh murni... 😂😂😂😂 Aku rasa mcm ouch tpi bila dia puji orang msia ni sungguh rilek & laid back yg buatkan depa sume nak tggal msia, aq hanya mampu senyum je laa... ahahahaha Nice video mate!! 💕 Love how you describe our country and the people in such a nice words and well put when the real one is not exactly like what you think... 😅 Keep it up the good work! 😄❤👍
Hi Aki.. a great comment from japanese people actually. Thanks a lot. Most of your comment are quite true actually. We, malaysian tend to follow the disciplined tricks from Japan, however with our mentality, we cant do that. We have something that's called 'habit'. I think that's why we malaysian always make excuses when we late. Its okay if we have valid reason, but for some people, they actually take advantage on that and instead of admit it, our people like to put the blame on others. Its quite pathetic. However, chills cuz this is just my opinion. Feel free to contact me 😄
And i wanna ask something, is japanese people still have culture shock on people who wears hijab in Japan? Hope that you can give quick reply cuz im planning to go on trip to Japan
Einzbernねこ i am Malaysian, also Muslim and i think not 100% Malaysian Muslim try to change other religion. The fact is, in Malaysia, we have so many culture, Indian, Chinese and Malay only 60%. Muslim only 61% most of them are Malay. Chinese and Indian still with their religion. So dont compare like that. Dont let anyone misunderstanding. You should blame him not our country. I ask him to say sorry to you bcs i have same opinion with you.
bondes des yes but you said japanese only need that to be great example of human. This statement is like to provoke non muslim and not respect their belief. bcs u said " to be great example of human ". So i think we just pray to Allah, to give "hidayah“ to them and to us.
Einzbernねこ yah rarely we see non muslim try to convince muslim to change their religion. We only see muslim do that, this is because, my religion ask to dakwah ? dakwah means spread the truth of Islam. but we cant force non muslim to join Islam. So if that happen that is a mistake by that person not religion. I think all religion teach people to show respect to other religion right. Bcs of that, he should say sorry to you and to non muslim who read that. :)).
when i was in japan i'm uncomfortable with the toilet too. 😅 since we use water for clean our "business" we must bring empty bottle everytime we go to toilet. :) and japanese people are really busy and loves walking. whats i'm shock is they always use earphone all the times. btw, i'm really really loves japanese culture.
Never blink if u waiting for train in Malaysia.. Once u blinked at the arrival time... U have to wait another arrival time... Malaysian people know this well
Haha, my japanese girlfriend was also very surprised to ask me about the toilet culture. I told her to bring paper tissue. Not all of malaysian are washed with water. Most chinese use toilet paper.
I laughing with the toilet part, hahaha. Well, as Malaysian, we still learning from ur country to be better in person and the growth of technology as well..
It depend on which kind of companies you work. Usually chinese and western companies are pretty discipline. I am malay tho. Malays tend to be late. Lol. But yeahh try avoid ktm as public transport, the waiting time is too long. I prefer LRT and mrt.
it is wrong to generalize on ethnicities. as what i saw punctuality is really an individual thing. just that the rate of impunctuality among malay society might be higher than the japanese, or as how you proud of other people race the western and chinese. in terms of firm and organizations, those of bigger corporations with strict punch card system has higher level of punctuality, regardleas of racial groups. speak from statistic and situation not generalize everyone.
Yeah, i agree when you say about ktm being late😂 and because of the fact that they do some changing to their railway until the end of this year..the station to my place already stop for awhile
agree with u..i been to Japan..toilet is super clean..but as malaysian we alway use water to clean our private part..in japan most of toilet have automatic water in the toilet bowl..just press and it shoot directly to your butt....
I'm from east Malaysia and one more suprising thing for you is you might get stuck in traffic for at least 3 hours😑😑 But anyways thanks for making this video!! ♡♡♡
Im a Malaysian & had lived in Japan for 4 years before. I really love & miss Japan. So glad when u said that Japanese people would like to move here :D
