I had a 150/100 BP at age 50. I was put on three BP meds to bring it down: 100 mg Losartan, 12.5 mg Hydrochlorothiazide and 10 mg Amlodipine. I decided to take charge to try and lower my BP without meds. I started a diet almost 13 months ago (Jan 2, 2020). Since that time, I shed 44 pounds (224 to 180 pounds) by doing one meal a day (OMAD) taken in the late afternoon and I cut my carbohydrates (no processed food, no potatoes, no rice and no bread) and increased good fats. I was able, under physician supervision, to cut back my blood pressure medications to only 50 mg Losartan (I discontinued the other two). Thirteen months later, I feel great and my BP is now in the order of 120/80. This is my personal story.
YOU NEVER DID HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!! EVERY ONE IS DIFFERENT!! SIZE, CULTURE, CHEMISTRY, 120/80 CANNOT BE FOR EVERYONE!! THE DOCTOR'S ARE LIEING TO YOU!! RUN FROM ALL DRUGS AND BE WHAT YOU ARE!!
I'm age 84 and my nurse recently told me that I have the blood pressure of a teenager. Over several decades I've lost over 110 lbs (now 152). In the past couple of years I've stopped eating all grains, grain products, sugar, and starches. I also water fast for 4 consecutive days each month (for autophagy). This has solved my weight and BP problem. I eat all the greens, legumes, eggs, poultry, nuts, and cold ocean fish that I want. My wife adds pork to cooked veggies for flavor. I also take methylene blue (in water) twice a day. I don't advocate my lifestyle for anyone but it seems to work for me.
That is brilliant! I especially like the 4-day / month fasting routine idea. I believe this is critical to good health and longevity and also allows the mind a certain clarity the likes of which is almost supernatural... but only achieved with fasting for long period. 👍
I recently had a problem with blood pressure. I’m in my 60’s and never had a issue before. I was having spikes of 189/100 and running to the ER a lot. I discovered that it was being caused by my thyroid! My levels were over the top! I was having heart problems, weight loss, anxiety, hair loss and blood pressure spikes! My cardiologist put me on two different kinds of blood pressure medication. I did some research on my own and found that Ceylon cinnamon helps regulate blood pressure. It also regulates blood sugar. So I took the initiative to purchase some of the special cinnamon, and start taking it every day and a cup of decaffeinated tea in the morning. Well, to my surprise, my blood pressure started coming down to the point where I had to stop the blood pressure medication’s. This is what I intended to do anyway! Also, once my thyroid was regulated properly with the proper dose, my blood pressure and all other problems resolved. So I think it’s important to let people know that some blood pressure issues can be resolved in an all natural way. And it’s best to do some of your own research unless you don’t mind being on pharmaceuticals for the rest of your life. Most people continue to take prescription drugs, without really looking into what the other options may be.
DR.ADAM STORY,I REALLY LIKE LISTENING TO YOU.I HAVE DECIDED TO CUT BACK ON STRESSFUL SITUATIONS, BY STAYING AWAY FROM TOXIC PEOPLE,TO LOWER MY BLOOD PRESSURE IN 2021:😁😁😁😁😁☺☺☺☺☺☺☺😍😍😍😍😜
My son 45 years old diagnosed with high blood pressure / borderline diabetes, due to really bad Junk Food diet finally got a wake up call after a completely blood test showing he was in bad shape. Finally we took action and went on a strict no sugar diet eating only home cooked meals, walking every day for at least 30 minutes and taking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water first thing in the morning and a glass of apple cider with two tablespoons at night and wow! Starting losing weight lowering blood pressure and eliminating blow-ding
I tried different diets but what helped me (as I got older) was FASTING, which in a way is the opposite of all of this dieting. I have better blood pressure now at 82 than in my 40's. I think that reduction of sugar and meditation have also been helpful.
I was extremely stressed for a while and blood pressure hug badly. Family history, I do smoke but eat well. One day I took a good look at myself. I got rid of toxic relationships immediately, refused to be frustrated by any situation or any person. I'm never better.
Good advice, I was born in Europe and never had processed foods, or sugary drinks. I’m 68 quite healthy, don’t take meds, keeping active, my weight is normal, even after having 3 children. My belief, moderation, and the occasional glass of wine. And yes I liked the say, if u eat from a box, u will end in a box!!! Great video.
Plus we're luckier than Americans with our foods. The EU banned so much that gets added to their food. Colourings, flavourings, sugar, preservatives etc - he's right! Don't eat boxed stuff made in a factory or fast food kitchen - and make your own bread. It's even illegal to advertise pharma drugs over here. I don't know the names of any drugs, nor what they're for, nor if one is supposed to be better than the other!
My husband and I were born in the early 50’s. At that time, the food pyramid recommended grain above all else. We grew up on baloney sandwiches on white bread. Our parents were happy with that and we were happy with that. Decades later we find out that the food pyramid was all wrong. So now my husband is a type 2 diabetic that required bypass surgery. Luckily, he’s much better now.
Diet: Moderate salt intake, avoid processed foods as much as possible, avoid soda, all soda, and as Peter points out - homemade meals with as many natural ingredients as possible. This I believe is a good starting point. Also a nice walk everyday helps.
I recommend to eat a lot of fish like sardines etc with a well made salad with lemon juice tomatos avocados cucumber, with a glass of wine, half an hour later drink a glass of water .Before going to bed drink a relaxing tea. Don't forget to pray before going to bed, amen

Could be "white coat syndrome", an anxiousness about seeing the doctor, for whatever reason. Quite often if the MA takes your BP again, about 15-20 min. later, your BP will usually be down.
I had 2 TIA's (strokes) in a stressful marriage, so when I had the 2nd TIA, I went home and told the husband..."I'm not having a third stroke so I'm filing for divorce". Awful divorce! I then met a wonderful man and have been happily married 18 wonderful years now. Advice, do whatever but live happy and stay healthy. Soon to be 78 and feeling young!
Thank you so much doctor, for taking the time, to give us so much, good, free information. I never had high blood pressure, even when I was 63 years Young. It wasn't until a brain tumor was removed and my whole system went wacko. With the grace of God. I am now 71. I refused to take drugs. I control my blood pressure with food. I do a lot of smoothies. Celery ,apples, bananas, beets, kale lots of greens, cucumbers, kiwi, so many other foods can lower blood pressure. Salmon 2x a week, chicken and bison. Too bad you're so far from Tucson Arizona. I would be so happy to make you my chiropractor. God bless you.
My Father and Brother both died at age 69 from heart attacks. I have been on a raw food diet for over 20 years and at 71 years of age, I feel fantastic.
I believe that if we eat more fruits and vegetables exercise and try to avoid stress as best as possible. Spirituality. All these will help lower high blood pressure.
i am a stroke victim. that was about 10 years ago. did necessary things to at least maintain my bp and it was good that until these days it soared up. because i stopped my exercises, ate freely. that was bad of me. so i have to start over again.
I practice moderation at 62, I'm not diabetic, which runs in my family. Alcoholism. I believe my choices I made especially to inform myself. We're never to old to learn. I know for myself growing up, my mom made everything from scratch. I did the same for my family. I also have the opposite low blood pressure. I don't take any pharmaceutical medications. Cannabis is my medicine. Edibles are great for pain. Thank you for your information very much appreciated.
I do lot of physical exercise/ physical work in the garden; with proper dieting I have stopped taking diabetics medication and my HbA1C is under 6. I have stopped Stantin drugs as well. I am 67years and the secret is keep your body weight under control.
Ever look at a Keto diet? Because of a Keto diet I am losing weight and I am not hungry after not eating for 19 hours. My running is not dependent on lots of consumption of sugar based foods.
Eating more fresh green vegetables and fruits; eating food rich in fiber;moderate exercise; avoid stressful lifestyle; taking time to relax ; all these can help reduce high blood pressure
I am 69 yo and find that the healthiest I feel is eating strict 95% carnivore and the rest of the 5% cabbage, asparagus, and a few other low carb/starch vegetables a few times a week. I eat an non inflmatory diet so to speak. N No dairy because it causes mild inflammation. I do intermittent fasting daily with a 6 hour eating window and at least once a month I will do an extended fast of 72 - 100 hours. I am currently into a fast 58 hours now. This has taken me off 3 out of 4 BP pills, trig meds, and stomach acid meds. Important to note that I don;t get wrapped up in the word Keto or Carnivore. I researched it well, did it gradually, and I am still refining as I learn.
Thank you for being honest. I'm 67 years old and my blood pressure is in control now. But I did mention to my doctor would it have to do with my age and the answer was no. I'm glad to hear you say that it does. Thank you again. 👏👏👏🙏
I very much believe in what you said, it is absolutely true. My father had a bypass at 75 and his father had a heart attack at 75, my elder brother had a heart attack at 48 and I had a heart attack at 48. I play field hockey and have played professional hockey, I still play hockey and I am fit. I also work out in the gym but I still had a heart attack, infact just a week before I had a heart attack I had a blood test done and my GP said my cholesterol, sugar and everything is normal, I played a game one day and came home had a shower and had dinner and then went to sleep, I woke up with stomach pain which wasn't going so I drove to the emergency and they checked my blood pressure it was 160 they then did a ECG and the doctor said I had a heart attack send it was a couple of days ago which I wasn't aware of, they immediately rushed me to the Cardiac centre and I found out I had a block and they put a stent in me. It's been a year now after my surgery and I am off blood thinner and cholesterol tablet, my cardiologist was so happy with my progress that he wanted to know what I was doing. I changed my diet, no sugar maybe something sweet I eat is if there was hidden sugar. Cut down on red meat. I eat fish and chicken but cut down my quantity. I eat a lot of fruits I eat a lot of nuts. Avacado at least 3 times a week. Exercise at least 30 minutes everyday. Play hockey twice a week. Thank you for your video.
I'm 62. Lost a lot of family members who had high bp and died of heart attacks. Lost a brother at age 48, lost one at age 55, one at age 57 and lost my Dad at age 60. They all smoked and drank, and had sedentary lifestyles plus their diets were awful. So I decided at a young age to not drink, smoke or eat processed foods and sugar. I stay active, I eat a healthy diet, lots of greens, sprouts, fruits and lean meats. If I want something sweet I eat dark chocolate. I also eat beets or take beet root powder, eat a lot of garlic, take potassium/magnesium, and drink hibiscus tea. Also half a grapefruit per day. I passed all of their ages (so far) and hopefully will be around to spend time with my grandkids for a long time.
I was 17 when first diagnosed with hbp of 140/90 + and prediabetic. At first denial I could not accept the truth at my young age I'm hypertensive despite I'm skinny person. Now I'm 37, sometimes my bp reach 170/100+ and I on and off my medicine. Based on my experience, bad diet, lack of exercise and stress really contribute to hpb. My grandpa, aunts and mother died in stroke/ hearth attack in their 50's. And I still trying to find/search a cause or cure, thinking I might have atherosclerosis and the like. I have been in many internist and medicine is the best they can give. Thanks doc Story, now I accept the truth maybe our genetics is the culprit like you said.
Hi there am 21 am not sure but i think i have bp, i have been prescribed prexum today.. don't know if its long term of short term. I've been on antidepressants the past year i don't know if its the side effects or not. Hope you're okay and well 😻🙏🏾
Adequate intake of magnesium is important, especially as the soil in which modern vegetables grow is usually deficient. Some formulations can cause diarrhoea, so one needs to find one that works for you.
I think had a HB all my life. From 4 yo people brought me many times on my way to kindergarten to the pharmacy for my heavy nosebleeds. I always used to look at my handkerchief after sneezing. I found out that my mam was carrying during the last months of the war, being born on July14 1945 . people were starving from hunger and of course I had malnutrition. Later when I was 59 yo I had a sitting job and started to have nosebleeds during 20 min. or more, about 4 times a day. It started with medication for peeing more, but after 3 years I was on medication with 7 different pills, without proper results. I had severe gout problems and after my first pill for lowering my cholesterol (vastatines) I was so sick of that pill, I decided to stop with all pills. that resulted in an attack of gout, I'll never forget; but I never took pills anymore for the last 8 years. My BP is 105 over 180/200 and feeling very healthy. Now 76yo.
We have Diabetes, HTN, and obesity in my Family. I'm 64 1/2 y/old Female and started having Htn in my 40's, high Chpolesterol, and became Type 2 Diabetic at age 51. My weight has crept up after Menopause too. I'm trying to use Intermittant Fasting, eating only 1-2 meals daily, and take 3 meds for HTN. Since my weight is dropping, I see the BP getting better, and I get lots of good sleep. I hope my BP continues getting better, and tuned in to you to Get Re-charged in my journey to improve my Health! Thanks for your Information!
This is what has worked to resolve my hypertension and the weight loss has easy: 1. Ketogenic diet. 2. Daily intermittent fasting, mostly 18/6 and sometimes 23/1. 3. Prolonged fasting about 7-10 days 3 times a year. 4. Weight lifting. 5. Walking. I'm in my mid 50's and can fit into my high school clothes. From the mid 30'5 to late 40's I was borderline obese. Best wishes to all of you on your quest for better health and quality of life.
Thank you. I’m just starting this journey. I’ll be doing Keto Diet and Fasting. This will be difficult for me because my memory is fading now and I forget things a lot. I live alone so I won’t have help. But I have to try or I will have a heart attack. My father had triple heart surgery and passed away in 2017.
I am 70 years old, diabetic for nearly 24 years. Initially I had pills to contol my blood sugar. Also consume less carbs. Since abour five years ago, I realized that carbs are the underlying diabetic problem. I am on low carb high fat diet now, my blood glucose is at normal, HbA1c 5.4%, and usually will measue blood pressure systolic below 120mmHg, and diastolic below 80mmHg. I feel very fine, just feel much better.
I agree with you hands down! I recently had a physical and the medical staff could not believe that I do not take ANY meds! I’m a 65 year old African American woman. I’m leaning more to life style than anything else. I tried to cut down on the carbs and exercise!! I have my vices throughout the years, but I consistent did those two things.
@@healthatheart6922 Same thing happens to me, when I go to the doctor I bring my BP machine with me from home to see if it reads the same as the doctors machine.
The nurse who takes my BP causes it to rocket. She is very pretty and wears a tight uniform with black stockings and high heels. Then she stretches across me to get the machine and pushes herself close to me.Then she tells me to relax ! I think she causes false readings.
i got a digital machine at home that i'm beginning to suspect is giving me inaccurate readings. at least once a day or so for the last week or two i get a reading in the high 90s over mid to upper 50s. the average is ~105 over 60/65. my last two readings at the hospital were 118 over 78 (physician said you're normal) then a few days later 106 over 75. i don't know WHAT to believe.
Hi good afternoon. I am 55 years old and I have been hypertensive since age 35. My family have a history of hypertension. I am retired now, I don't drink or smoke and I try to have a balanced diet and lifestyle. I have no other underlying illness and my blood pressure is well maintained. Our diet is a mixed one but we try to eat a lot of fresh fish, vegetables, fruits and stay away from too much flour, rice and salt.
Unfortunately, I am one of those people with the genetics of high blood pressure 😒. You channel is really helping me with different techniques. Thank you 😘
Thank you from the UK. Before watching your videos. I have been on a lettuce, cucumber and salad diet. My blood sugars have dropped and now need to control my bp. I have got it down to 145/85 from 180/85 still a way to go but, I've always tried to eat healthy as often and not too much of anything. I think stress and genetics being a 53 old. Too much stress/cortisol in the blood can cause many problems. So I do a lot of fasting these days and only have 1 large salad and no other meals. Like I say, too early for big results but the diet is working. God bless you all 🙏 oh by the way. I've deleted all the people who cause me stress and blocked their numbers. I now limit my connections, as family and certain people are the greatest stress makers ever! 😊
Stopped eating sugar and changed to a LCHF diet. BP 135/80 now 110/65. It only took 30 years to discover the cause, now 55! It's a shame that youtube didn't exist 30 years ago and then we could have at least been able to see the BS that was being fed to us by the MSM! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
This doc is very knowledgeable in what he speaks.yes a crappy lifestyle bad diet stress and when you get older .cut stress down eat an normal diet cut smoking limit alcohol. Easy as that but no you have to work on these things.people out there that are older need to do light exercise if they can.I am not as knowledgeable as the doc on this video but he makes very good sense so well done to him
That's the bottomline - diet and exercise you can't go wrong sugar is not a friend fat either i went vegie, and do yoga, and walking voila! no problemo
@@mariaalano3077 This is why I exercise 3 times a week on my Total Gym & walk my dog up & down the mountains where I live. When I was 20 years old, I had a blood pressure of about 140 over 85. When I was 60, I switched to a whole foods plant based diet, no salt no oil no sugar. Now I'm 66, and I have a blood pressure of about 110 over 75.
What do you have for breakfast? I cant think of veggies I would want for breakfast. I also use smart balance or vinegar and olive oil. Gotta get off my margerine.
Fats are important in the diet as a number of very important vitamins and minerals are only able to be absorbed via fat/oil in diet. I find lowering sugar and simple carbohydrates works best for me, but I'm guessing we are all different.
After 4 Vaccines I saw my BP go steadily up from normal 80/120 up to 95-110 / 140-150 on daily basis, medications only temporarily brought it down, so i started omega 3, magnesium, coq10, tocotrienols on regular basis not so strict, one pill of one of the above and now i am back to below 85-90/ 120-130 on daily basis...yes it was the vaccines you ask me
Yes, an absolute crime that made so many people billionaires....Excess deaths are up in all countries (published by their government official statistics). I never had these mRNA experiment injections as I knew we were just guinea pigs. I've been eating plant based for almost a year. I have lost 12 lbs and decreased my insulin from 45 units to 15 units a day. I have also cut my heart meds in half as well. I am 71 years old and I have been a diabetic for 23 years. I have never felt better.
Congratulations! 65+ year old here. I went 100% plant based when I was diagnosed with T2D and I was starting to take insulin. After going plant based for only 6 weeks, my blood sugar went so low that the doctor took me off insulin and started Metformin. After another year, I was consistently in the safe range (fasting BG levels consistently below 100) and I dropped metformin as well. Never went back since, and never had to worry about T2D again.
@@happydogg312 I agree! I've dropped about 28 pounds now and blood pressure has reduced...not completely to a good level, but getting there eventually I believe. And my daughter who is in her early 40s has lost around 60 pounds on a carnivore diet.
#2 Is my primary cause, my whole life until my mom died, I had low blood pressure, so low I would faint. After she died I realized I got more and more inclined to doing bad things for my health. (all my life I was worried she might die, and she was not sick or anything, my parents divorced when I was 3 and I was terrified I'd be left to fate if I lost my mom. I got more and more tense as a young woman and when she died in my 40's, thank God I had a new baby when she died, it left me feeling lost and afraid. Breaking up nuclear families is the cause so many men and women get this problem far more than before, and women, who usually never had the problem at all, once they decided they'd rather work than be mothers and caregivers, they became horribly unhappy and we see cortisol levels skyrocket, along with Type 2 diabetes, which is what happened to my single working mom. BUT she always had low blood pressure her whole life. Maybe because she became a cat lady, it was actually good for her, health-wise, but terrible for everyone around her....my siblings stopped visiting her. BUT...low blood pressure!!)
Had high blood pressure since my late 20's. At 66 yrs old I went on a ketone diet along with intermittent fasting, and I no longer take medication for it. Worked for me and went down a pant size in three wks.
I have studied my BP for 9+ years. It is difficult to make definite statements of what causes changes in my BP since it varies throughout the day and can change significantly within 5 minutes. Anyone taking BP meds should study their BP to ensure the meds are effective and the timing of taking them is optimum for controlling the BP throughout the day. Here are a few observations: 1. Which meds to take is important to controlling BP. Recently, I had very high BP readings in the AM. I changed my diuretic from HCTZ to CTD. It resulted in lowering my BP throughout the day. I take Enalapril and CTD. My BP average is around 134/70 with some readings being below 120/70. 2. Eating a meal that is high in sodium may result in high BP readings a few hours later. 3. Some stresses and pains can result in high BP readings. Kidney stones can cause serious BP readings. Stomach discomfort may cause high BP readings. 4. Exercise and warm baths may lower BP readings for a period of time. 5. Wrist BP monitors may not be accurate at high BP readings.
Thamks Sir. I have decided to follow a strict diet of vegetables and lean meat. And fruit of cause. I also need to know if ridaq is safe to use for blood pressure.
My son and I walk every .day between 2 to 4 miles weather permitting . I'm 76 im not a couch potato I avoid junk food . And eat pretty much all foods . So case in point just do what is reasonable it's your life
hey vlady, that's not a bloody suggestion, but utterly correct, in cold, wintry, dark weather, the more one has to get out, or else, it can result into being a couch potato and that's no brainer.
#3 honest. Thank you. What works for me is a low carb diet. But that does not mean no carbs. Just lower than most people. My belly is the indicator of overall health. I keep it lean and flat. Don’t over eat! When I stuff myself, blood pressure goes way up.
1. Genetics 2. High stress causing cortisol levels to go up making glucose go up. Blood sugar up damages inner lining of arteries. Processed foods. 3. Age
I lowered my BP by not watching the news on tv or reading newspapers. Try tuning out and see how much better you feel and how better you sleep. Don't feel guilty, you can't do anything about the insanity of others anyway. Really...try it and see.
Way what? This is awesome news. Can you please share with us what kind of foods you eat on a daily basis to get 4600mg of potassium? All I do is cook with less salt, but BP high! Thankyou so much in advance!

Adam I'm so glad I watched your video. I suffer from high blood pressure. I'm 61 years old and also have lymphedema. Since I changed my diet trying to drink more water, and execrise both my weight and pressure has come down.
The main things that are causing high blood pressure and diabetes are ,junk food, refined sugar, alcohol, not drinking enough Water and the lack of exercise. I was all of the above, I changed my way of life, I am in better heath at 73 than I was at 53.

Your video was very good I am 66 years old and that was very helpful my blood pressure is still pretty good 125 over 80. But a very good video thank you
My bp has presently been 259 / 215 consistantly. I am healthy active and am 60 kg weight but am very bloated abdominally. Please help me to bring it down. I am taking Candestan 18mg twice a day. No real effect though After beginning doxasocin I suffered right brain severe pain (I typically am not a headachy person) I took myself off this medication and in just minutes the pain disappeared. I am now turning to totally natural remedies as I believe the meds do more damage than good. Bendroflourizide has destroyed my left kidney also. Until 12 months ago I was very healthy and most folk don't believe I just tur ned 80. I have so far found your videos very helpful & I thank you. Please keep doing them they are so helpful.

I bet beautiful harp music lowers it. In the Bible, when King Saul was disturbed ( maybe he had high bp🤔), he would call for David to come and play his harp, and it would calm him down.🙂♡

So what are her secrets to health and longevity? I'd love to interview her and pick her brain. My mom is 85 and on 9 or 10 different meds for BP, cholesterol, etc and has been for over 15 years. Her mom lived until her late 80's and wasn't on any meds, but they lived very different lifestyles in very different countries. I think lifestyle (diet, exercise, stress levels, etc) trump genetics.

Yeah, gardening exposes you to three very powerful antioxidants: sunlight, earth grounding, and oxygen. Unfiltered summer sun makes vitamin D3. Touching the earth exposes you to the electromagnetic frequency or Schumann resonance of the Earth correcting stray free radicals in the body. Oxygen is negatively charged and even more so outdoors around living plants. Free radical damage causes aging. One more bit of info: working outside makes it easier to sleep at night causing the pineal gland to produce melatonin also a strong antioxidant.
Hi, 93 here. Very sensible! Enjoyed your video and advice. I'm an old lap swimmer (1,000. miles), hiker and dog trainer. I too eat herring, sardines, yogurt, berries, oatmeal (and dark chocolate!)
Thank you for your video Adam, I think I drew a short straw as far as genetics are concerned and as I was adopted at birth have no knowledge of my birth parents and any potential health problems. I have always eaten good wholesome food, everything is cooked from fresh and do not eat ready meals. I exercise, doing daily yoga and have now started pilates and have always loved walking as a form of keeping fit. As far as I'm concerened I'm just one of the unlucky ones to be diagnosed with high blood pressure at the age of 63 although I've been plagued with health problems all my adult life. Still, it is what it is and there is little I can do but carry on trying my best to live a healthy life.
Doc thank you ! I've been trying to wean off of Lisinopril.. it got bad side effects and best for limitation to ease our blood pressure lowering is walk 15- 30 mins or exercise, keep Dr appt , eat healthy foods and don't do drugs and to much alcohol. Pray and live righteous! Amen. God bless n wish everyone the long healthy life !
Likely because fiber is the anecdote for sugar (all carbs are sugar). This lowers sugar spike. Replacing starchy foods with veggies is a huge boost. Also, any caloric drop should force fat burning, ketosis, which is key to reversing insulin insensitively. Flavanoids are useful too, and other micro nutrients..... Sugar spikes kill.
Keto has worked amazingly well for me as far as BP and weight loss. Skin issues and acid reflux vanished as well. It's very enjoyable and just the way I eat all the time now. Almost four years in now.
I agree...although my blood pressure hasn't gone down to where it should be, it did reduce a lot by going mostly carnivore. I believe in keto too though.
You're right Gord. My Mom was what they call High blood pressure resistant. Meaning they tried several types of blood pressure meds with very little benefit to her. She kept detailed records from age 55 until her death at age 81. During that 25 years plus period, her blood pressure remained constant in the range of 155/92 no matter the treatment. She led a reasonably healthy life until a few months before her death. She took exercise and maintained a healthy weight. I am presently in my 70's and I've been experiencing the same level of high BP as she, now for the last 20 years. I too, am resistant to most BP Meds. I have been on Losartan Potassium for years after first being on Lisinopril. I've come to the conclusion that maybe the medical standards of what is dangerous may differ among individuals. Especially for the elderly who have been tough enough to live to that stage of life already.
I agree with you about high bp being genetic. I have a great diet, low sugar, I exercise everyday, yet I have an aggressive bp. I take supplements and bp medication that keeps it under control. My mother had horrible high blood pressure also. I appreciate your information.
Wow really . What supplements u take? Mine doesn’t come down even with meds . I seen magnesium but there’s also mangnesium citrate and idk what that is .
@@818guy6 try warm water with garlic and lemon after you drink the garlic swallow it and do exercise brisk walking an hour 4 times a week and eat vegetables. Hopefully this would help and don't forget to be grateful in our God.
818guy magnesium citrate is best as body will absorb most of it whereas magnesium oxide is next to useless as the body will only absorb 3% of it . Magnesium also stops that mad ‘ heart racing ‘ and seems to calm it down
Ok, you say that age is an important factor for high blood pressure. At almost 74 years of age, I still have around 120/70 in blood pressure. Maybe because I am 182 cm (5feet 11.5 inches) and weigh only 72kg (about 160pounds). However, I have never (almost) eaten processed food. I smoked 20 cigs / day until 45 years old, drink wine every week but rarely spirits. Exercises intensively 20 min / 3-4 times a week. Have never taken medication or been really sick. Greetings from Sweden.
Dr. You are right about aging. Just found out at ER that I had high BP. I have never had high blood pressure before so I am on strict diet right now. Almost no carb and sugar. Thank you very much. PS: I have subscribed your channel and of course thumbs up!
Me too. Also learning to take supplements to see if it helps (Vitamin D3 plus Vitamin K2; also potassium supplement and magnesium supplement). Good luck and all the best. I am trying to lower my BP too
I would say exercise every day or at least every other day, and make sure you sweat and get your heart rate up. And the whole " Eat your vegetables" advice parents give is for a good reason. We all know veggies and fruits have vitamins and minerals so eat those daily. Plus the fiber from them is good for you too, and there's natural sugar in fruits not processed sugar, but I would also suggest don't eat too much fruit. And yes the doctor is right about processed foods, stay away from those as much as you can they're garbage. Lastly, drink plenty of water and limit any soda or fruit juice , but honestly try to eliminate them completely because they're loaded with sugar.
Useful information. Hi Doctor, I am doing WINCO diet and it’s the best diet for my health. By WINCO diet I mean I go to winco and other stores and buy the fresh unpackaged and unprocessed vegetables, fruits, legumes, lentils, nuts and other foods. Cook them at home in olive oil. I also remember to walk 20-30 minutes after meal. To get better health including blood pressure, I don’t drink coke, Pepsi and other sugar sweetened beverages too. As a result, No health concerns and never think about blood pressure and glucose because I mostly find my blood pressure in the range of 72-75/113-115. My age is 49. This story was totally opposite of what I stated above two years ago.
My uncle used to say " it's getting harder and harder to get out of this world alive." And a doctor I knew said"only shop the outside isles of a grocery store.( Meaning natural foods.)"
Most of the diseases starts with salt, sugar and in the gut. Keeping healthy gut is important. Pay attention to the foods that you in your mouth. Use lemon and pepper instead of salt in your diet. Brown cane sugar , honey only if absolutely necessary. Be active, add meditaton to your routine.
I've always had low BP but recently felt very tired and BP up and down. After a year of tests ended up in a situation where sleep tested. Result, severe sleep aponea. Was on Cpap or Apap machine which keeps constant air pressure on breathing at night. BP returned to normal. I would add this as a 4th despite it maybe being stress/age/genetically related because it may solve someone's BP problem.
