"In my opinion" We need to be more open minded may be and understand that 1.family is not making complaints may be they are trying to show us the right path and only a true friend will want to correct us in alone time and praise in public. 2. Take into account the inflation rate and please suggest what else will a family talk about other than discussing financial issues. We as kids never knew the prices of anything but nowadays even kids are in tension of daily rising prices. 3. Gheebat needs to be explored in detail, not only saying bad things but also saying good things that don't exist in someone is gheebat. Praising people for what they are, or are not we even create jealousy. The underlying thing is that we should be good in our intentions and expect the same from immediate family, at least, and take things they say positively rather posing restrictions on what should and shouldn't be said.
