I'm pretty sure if a sequel is in development, Luigi will certainly have more screen time. And Yoshi will be a part of the main cast.

Come on You got to wait. You can't just put everything in the first two movies. Rosalina has to wait. If she's in the second movie then we got to take out a lot of characters until later.

I think the third movie would be the way to go. Introducing her would mean introducing a lot of new galaxies and studf6, which is great, but we only really got a good look at the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser's Kingdom, everything else was given a brief montage. I think before expanding the world they need to first explore what they have.

Sequel Idea! Mario and the gang have to take the Yoshi that hatched in the post credit scene back to its homeland while trying to fight off Bowser, who has escaped his cage, and is now teamed up with the Koopalings.

We should also see more characters like Bowser, Jr., and Daisy possibly and I don’t care if that’s in counts or not I like that we saw Yoshi‘s egg. I mean it was great to see more Luigi at the end with his brother Mario, when they both defeated Bowser together after Mario rescued his brother from death, and they got reunited, and Luigi did the same for Mario, and they both defeated Bowser together.

I enjoyed the Mario Movie but yeah Luigi I feel like needed a bit more screen time maybe a minute more. As for Wario and Waluigi I can see them being the villains and something like Bowser is offered to help the Mario Bros in exchange for his freedom.

Ask all you want, I don’t think Nintendo is giving Luigi a bigger role. Take the concept art for example, they were gonna make Luigi get everyone out of the cages, they were gonna add a Luigi’s mansion scene, there was a concept art where they were fighting Bowsers army and Peach wasn’t there and Luigi was there. They don’t care about Luigi anymore

I want more genuine character moments. The movie feels too fast. Moments like Peach with the fire flower. If they lingered a bit more or did more moments like these where i can just, breathe, between the action would be amazing. Right now its not a movie i watch for the characters, but for the refferences and animation.

I highly doubt this would happen, but since Bowser doesn't seem like a threat, the second Mario movie could take more inspiration from the second mainline Mario game released in the U.S., such as the world of Subcon and the many enemies present there. This probably won't happen, but it's something that I really would love to see if it somehow happens.
