Adding plus scales is also another good option if you want a pen. When using it, I like open up the corkscew, slide the pen in the channel, and then close the corkscrew down on top of it to hold it in place. Makes for a much better writing experience than trying to grip the skinny pen on its own!
@@doubledrats235 The swissclip doesn't hinder access to the pen or toothpick. It hangs off the side with the tweezers. Basically, the swissclip only makes the tweezers harder to access, though it really isn't that hard to use either your toothpick or your corkscrew eyeglass driver to reach in there and pry the tweezers up. If the toothpick is your least used scale tool, there's another solution too. If you're okay breaking up the contours of your scales a little bit, you could always just switch the placement of the tweezers and toothpick. I personally think it's a small price to pay for the great utility of a pocket clip.
The models with a Phillips SD in place of the corkscrew also have the hole for the pin, at least my Hiker does. The SwissQlips are smart looking, especially if you already have black scales like I do on both my celidor models, the Hiker & Climber with Plus Scales. Seriously thinking about buying one although they cost about the same as each of those 2 SAKs did!
Yeah the clips are pricey, but it's nice. It keeps the knife right where i want it. Just a heads up the white logo on it is peeling off, but the black paint is still holding up well. There's a small paint chip at the end of the clip
The simplest best way to mod /improve any SAK is mod the can opner / 3mm screwdriver, making it a better can opener and Great 3mm/ Phillips. My video ' victronox explorer, huntsman, farmer, climber screwdriver can opener mod ' .
@@mdsharp5d349 no, the oldest models don't come with that hole, I don't remember since when they started to include it but if you buy a new one, it will have it On the other hand, you can buy plus scales and besides the hole, you gain the space for the small pen
