Join us for a volleying masterclass with 3-time Wimbledon finalist, Australian Open Champion and Coachlife.com coach, Robert Lindstedt! Learn the secrets behind his impeccable volley technique and improve your game with these expert tips.
Key Points Covered:
*Head and Racket Connection*: Your head should follow your racket and be as close to the racket head as possible. Maintaining this connection ensures better control and precision.
*Avoiding Disconnection*: If there is too much space between your head and your racket, you can lose connection with your racket, affecting your volley accuracy.
*Early Shoulder Turn*: Following your racket with your head helps initiate an early shoulder turn, crucial for a quick and effective volley.
*Unified Movement*: Keep the left arm close to the racket, moving both hands together. This unified movement enhances balance and control at the net.
*Racket Position*: You lose time at the net when you tip the racket up, so focus on keeping it level and straight out in front of your body to maintain readiness and agility.
Watch this masterclass to refine your volley technique and take your net game to the next level with insights from one of the game's best.

Good tutorial. The only thing I miss is Robert actually hitting a few volleys. This is a must for me for a 100% complete tutorial. That seeing him hitting the volleys like he just explained would have just been the cream on top of his great tutorial.

why did federer forehand volley with that left hand thrown out on his left side?
@rbrianharris
@rbrianharris 2 месяца назад
The head height comment assumes the opponent will hit a properly low shot across the net. Those of us living in the 2.5-3.5 world are going to get volleys at every height imaginable. So leaving the racquet a touch high in order to be in the center of the "zone of unpredictability" might make sense.
@antoinev9733
@antoinev9733 2 месяца назад
quite right. the goal is to get the racket at te ball's height before to go forwards. from there, you can adjust quite any kind of volley in any direction :)
