If you had to give one tip to a poker friend on how to help maximize their profits in any online session, what would it be?
@stylin40s

One tip? Watch this video, and take notes, like literally, write it down and commit it to memory. Maybe it would get them more interested in poker study

Have plenty of things to say, but I do not want to help my opponents, including my friends. Though I will at least tell them to take notes and use Poker Tracker 4.

@@YTSparty Terrible idea, you learn nothing with fake money. I did that for 3 months and the cash games, even 2 dollar games, play way different.

As a beginner, this was really interesting. Winning money from poker isn't purely about just getting better at the game, but also being strategic about who and where you play

The strategy is the part we can control, and the better we are at it, the less of a factor luck plays in our final results Luck always still matter, just this way it's not as much :)

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking a couple weeks ago on user names choices. But I have to say same are quite clever and hilarious some make me lol once in awhile. Just got back to playing online a couple months ago mainly because there are very few real money game sites available in my area at the moment. But I used to play on almost all of them prior to black Friday. Now I'm just trying to remember all the things I forgot and you guys help out a bunch. Thank you All!!

Great content and video, well presented. What are your thoughts on this: I've been thinking about identifying bum-hunting regs by recording the screennames for players that are seated or waiting on tables with a large waitlist. It would seem that if the same names show up over and over, those are players you want to tag as regs.
@PokerCoaching

Where I pay I can auto switch tables but not seat selection .. also we can’t see who’s at the tables only the big blinds …I guess in this situation you sit a few hands and if it’s not the right table just stand ?
@gripsed
@gripsed Год назад
Only leave if you have a better option. What i would do in this case is join all the games as they become available. And if you normally max at 4 tables, and find yourself on 8, drop the worst 4 and stay on the best 4. Usually after a few orbits you can tell if a table is good or not.

Question - At what "on line" level do you expect to see "pros". I.e., I am a rec, usually play $0.10 / 0.25, but sometimes higher. Are pros playing $0.10 / $0.25 or is that just too small for them? I see regulars, but not sure if they are pros. PS - Liked the video.

So the player in the spot is the poor bastard that keeps being dealt playable cards that continue to miss and be outdrawn. They play well enough, however, the algorithm of the app continuously deals them the losing hand. I think I find myself in this seat more often than not.

Kevin, I own your book "Mastering Small Stakes Cash Games" an excellent piece of work. Just so you know I am not just blowing smoke ,on page 170 you talk about 3 betting from the big blind, which is not specifically mentioned in the table of contents. Also Kevin, and the rest of you guys, I am really angry at Poker Stars in the USA. Not sure how many of you know but they were bought out by a new company very recently, and one of the first things they did was take away the "cash game incentive challenges". I am a winning online cash game player so I do not need the bonus to make money, but still it was a nice thing to get the extra rake back money and even more importantly it brought in a lot of fun and recreational players. They still have the chests of course, but they used to have these promotions that ran periodically called " cash game challenges", now they replaced them for the most part with " casino challenges " lol. They have a thing called " The Leader board" every now and then, but that is not nearly as good, and they hardly run it. The old owners of stars seemed to realize that these challenges were a great way to get good traffic, as casinos realize this with high hand bonuses etc. These things are essential for attracting fun and recreational players on a consistent bases. Over the last year have seen the amount of action drop greatly. Also they did an update recently and the cash games lag a lot too, ever since the last update, I got Windows 10, but I may have to get a new computer now as well cause of their new software update. I tried to write them and let them know that these new policies are losing players. I am really glad to have had the chance to learn how to play poker on poker stars and with the aid of poker tracker 4, however these new greedy policies they implemented really seem to have decreased the amount of cash games players on there, now it's pretty much just the same group of regs who are lousy for action. It's very depressing, but lucky for me that I live about 20 minutes from a great live poker room, and those games are a lot easier too. The tournaments on Stars are still OK and have not changed much from what I see, but the cash games were a great way to make money and now I am just focusing on live poker, which is a lot easier, but it was very nice to be able to play from home on your computer. Keven, I also gave your book 5 stars on Amazon too btw, and very impressed by your book, and learned quite a lot of new things, and it's a really useful and fresh approach for playing cash games. Can say that your book is what I was hoping for from you. I watched a lot of your videos on Pokercoaching dot com as well. I also own MANY books by Mr Jonathan Little, which are also excellent, of course. Hoping stars fixes this, but I am a bit worried they don't care about the cash games and are mostly focusing on tournaments now. I usually do not play tournaments cause I am better at cash games, but I may have to switch to them for online poker. Maybe when all the states in the USA merge that will fix things, but who knows when that will happen. As Kevin said, it's very much about position and table selection. But you need enough tables to be able to play at least 4 tables, and I prefer playing 15 tables when possible, but in the USA have not been able to do that for quite some time since the pandemic ended.
